A Rich Thai Experience at Boat Thai

Yesterday we introduced Vietnamese cuisine, and today it's time for Thai food! I met up with a beautiful friend for a meal, and since the weather was scorching hot, we both unanimously decided on Thai food to ignite our endless appetite with its spicy and flavorful dishes. Kowloon City has many Thai restaurants, but none are as convenient as Tsim Sha Tsui! So, we chose to dine at Boat Thai on the 6th floor of International Plaza in Tsim Sha Tsui. In this hot weather, we started with a refreshing cold drink! I opted for my favorite Thai iced lemon tea for $25. The unique sweet aroma of Thai red tea was irresistible, and the fresh lime made it both thirst-quenching and delicious. My friend, who is afraid of spicy food but loves flavorful dishes, chose a fresh whole coconut. The sweet taste of the coconut water was perfect for cooling down the spiciness. We began with a refreshing salad to whet our appetites! The Thai fresh shrimp and pomelo salad for $88 was delicious, with the crunchy and bouncy shrimp adding a fresh taste, and the tangy yet not bitter pomelo making the salad incredibly tasty. For soup, we chose the mildly sweet and fragrant Thai Nanjing coconut chicken soup for $88! The coconut milk made the soup exceptionally smooth, and the boneless chicken pieces were tender and easy to drink. Next, we tried a series of flavorful snacks! The Thai fried shrimp cakes for $58 were even better when dipped in Thai sweet chili sauce. The lemongrass chicken wings for $48 were crispy and not greasy, with the chicken inside remaining juicy and delicious. The Thai grilled fresh squid for $98 was cooked to perfection, with a chewy and elastic texture that combined flavor and freshness, making it irresistible despite the threat of cholesterol. Being a fan of pork neck, I chose the Thai grilled pork neck for $78! The pork neck was tender and well-marinated, and it would have been even more appealing if it were cut thicker. The Hainanese chicken half for $118 was surprisingly good, with tender skin and juicy meat that was flavorful even without any sauce. The Hainanese chicken also came with a complimentary bowl of radish clear soup! Even without rice, it was very satisfying. Finally, we ordered the Thai stir-fried pork slices with rice noodles for $78! The rice noodles were stir-fried with a nice wok hei and were smooth, with plenty of vegetables making it feel somewhat healthy. The dishes at Boat Thai were impressive and reasonably priced, especially the Hainanese chicken, which was a pleasant surprise. When I crave Thai food, I will definitely come back here.
