This courtyard in Yichun healed my inner exhaustion.

The designers of Shankou Courtyard retained the soul of the original building with their ingenuity of "repairing the old as it was." The interior features natural materials such as wood, linen, and pottery, mainly in earth tones, creating a simple yet warm atmosphere. Details such as lamps and ornaments incorporate Zen elements, where a flower represents a world and a leaf embodies enlightenment, revealing spirituality in subtle details. Each guest room offers unique scenic views. The interior space abandons complex decorations, using natural materials such as wood, linen, and pottery to create a rustic atmosphere. The bed linen is made of high-quality linen fabric, complemented by ergonomic tatami mattresses to ensure deep sleep. The culinary team is well-versed in the essence of Gan cuisine, using ingredients such as free-range chicken, fresh fish from mountain streams, and seasonal wild vegetables to create authentic rural dishes. Breakfast includes light porridge with pickles, handmade steamed buns, freshly ground soy milk, and local snacks to awaken your taste buds in the morning. The multi-function hall adopts a flexible and adaptable design, suitable for hosting small concerts or serving as a yoga and meditation space. The open-air theater in the courtyard often screens art films and hosts poetry recitals under the stars during summer nights. As dusk falls upon this courtyard hidden in the mountains, the wind chimes tinkle at the eaves, and a warm light illuminates, signaling a return home—a return to the mountains, a return to authenticity.
