Merdeka Square - KL, Malaysia

In the center of Merdeka Square stands a 95-meter mast, on which the Malaysian flag was installed in 1957. Since then, Merdeka Square has become the venue for the annual parade. Celebrations take place on Independence Day on August 31st. The area is surrounded by modern and historical buildings, which house government, socio-cultural institutions. At the end of the last century, the shopping and entertainment complex Plaza Dataran Merdeka was built in the underground space.
