3-Day Luoyang Journey | Step into the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty and experience the charm of the ancient capital🌿 Last week’s quick trip to Luoyang totally amazed me! Places like White Horse Temple and Luoyi Ancient City are perfect for photos anywhere you point your camera. The rainy weather added a time-travel vibe. Here’s a highlight route covering 30,000 steps📝 💫Day 1: Ancient Temple Zen + Night Tour of the Ancient City Head straight to White Horse Temple (Luolong District, Luobai Road) in the morning. China’s first ancient temple lives up to its reputation, with Burmese, Thai, and Indian-style Buddha halls that are super photogenic! Recommend going early to avoid crowds (open 8:00-17:00). In the evening, move to Luoyi Ancient City (Old Town, Jiudu East Road). The Tang-style buildings lit up at dusk are stunning! There are many Hanfu rental shops (average 80-120 RMB/day). I picked a chest-high ruqun set and got tons of attention💃 🍜 Food Tip: Guanji Water Banquet, an old restaurant outside the ancient city (Old Town, Fenghua Street), serves Luoyang swallow’s nest dish loved even by Empress Wu Zetian—must try! 💫Day 2: City Wall Tour + Night Market Fun Sleep in and then visit Lijing Gate (Old Town, West Street). Climb the city wall for a panoramic view of the old town (ticket 30 RMB). The cobblestone pedestrian street has a great vibe. At night, you must hit the Shizi Street Night Market! Try beef tripe hotpot, “no-flip” soup, peony silver thread pastry... all for about 50 RMB per person, enough to eat until you can barely walk. It’s livelier after 8:00 PM🌃 📸 Secret Photo Spot: The red lantern wall at the corner of Lijing Gate’s wengcheng (barbican). The rainy weather makes the atmosphere perfect! 💫Day 3: In-Depth Museum Visit Save the last day for Luoyang Museum (Luolong District, Nietai Road), open 9:00-17:00, free but reservation required. Don’t miss the Northern Wei pottery figurines in the Treasure Hall. I stared at the two facing court lady figurines in the display case for half an hour... 🚌 Transportation Tips: 1. For Old Town attractions, shared e-bikes + walking are recommended 2. Taxi to White Horse Temple costs about 30 RMB (from city center) 3.
