Macau International Music Festival

Music, like the twinkling stars in the night sky, always has the power to touch the soul, bringing joy and enchantment. According to the program, the Macau International Music Festival has reached its 36th edition this year. With the theme 'Starry Night,' it invites top musicians and orchestras from around the world to come together and create a brilliant musical feast. This year's lineup is impressive, featuring the renowned Russian conductor Valery Gergiev, known as the 'Emperor of Conductors,' and his famous Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra, the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, the Salzburg Chamber Orchestra, pianists Hélène Grimaud and Ivo Pogorelich, and the Apollo Orchestra. The performances cover opera, classical music, and jazz. I am particularly fond of classical music, so I chose the concert on December 10th, featuring the famous French pianist Hélène Grimaud and the world-renowned Salzburg Chamber Orchestra from Mozart's hometown. The program includes Mozart's 'Idomeneo' Overture, Symphony No. 40, and Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4. These three pieces are delightful to the ears, leaving a lasting impression and endless aftertaste.
