Although travelling in the winter can be troublesome - you need to pack thicker clothes which makes your luggage heavier and the day is much shorter, you get Christmas lights, Christmas markets and festive events that you don’t have in the summer. If you walk by Gran Via, Retiro and most robust areas in Madrid, you instantly feel the joy and excitement of the winter season with the festive songs that being played in shops and the decorations in the street and department stores.
