Destileria Limtuaco Museum

#manilatrip Good experience. Apparently Destileria Limtuaco is the oldest distillery in continuous operation in the Philippines. It was established in 1852 by Lim Tua Co in Binondo. He became prominent figure in Filipino-Chinese society and adopted a Christian name Bonifacio Limtuaco. Unfortunately he and his only son died in 1887 during the trip to China. Business was took over by the nephew Lim Chay Seng. The distillery introduced and popularized the Chinese medicine wine known as Siok Hoc Tong or Sioktong. Museum was established to honor of Lim Tua Co and the distillery in 1982. Entrance is 100 PHP per person. Additionally one may pay for different alcohol testing. One may also try their signature ice cream (120 php for 100 ml cup or 465 php for 450 ml). Great place. It should be more advertised.
