🇱🇰 Authentic local food in Nuwara Eliya

We had a chance to dine in Cool Land Hot Hut, an authentic Sri Lankan restaurant in heart of the tea country hill city Nuwara Eliya. Cool Land Hot Hut is a hidden gem in the town. It is a budget hotel and the restaurant is at the basement of the building. It may look dark and gloomy from the outside but the atmosphere was actually cozy inside. Similar to economic rice stalls commonly found in Singapore and Malaysia, the restaurant serves a variety of dishes including briyani chicken, curries and vegetables in buffet style. We took our own serving of rice and put whatever dishes that we preferred on our plates so there was no waiting time at all. The food was reasonably priced.
