New Bridge

The Puente Nuevo is the newest and largest of the three bridges that spanned the 120 meters deep chasm that carries the Guadalevin River and divides the city of Ronda. It was built between 1759 to 1793 by Jose Martin de Aldehuela, an impressive single arch placed on the middle, flanked by two more on either side. The best views we can see of the new bridge are located at the end of a small path that runs from the Plaza de Maria Auxiliadora. People dream of a day trip to Ronda from Malaga or Seville, hoping to see this bridge and the breathtaking panorama of the tajo gorge. It is not surprising that the locals and tourists are so fascinated by its incredible design.
