Never met a hanok I didn’t like 💓

#seoul No visit to Seoul would be complete without a stroll through the Bukchon Hanok Village. I was really looking forward to visiting Bukchon since I always see this in Kdrama and it did not disappoint. The village is a lovely little haven away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The houses preserve traditional architecture. Roofs are beautiful. Many wealthy Koreans, some of all tradition, live here. The place is quite exclusive. This is such a wonderful area to explore, albeit quite hilly but scenic and definitely great photo ops. You can spend some time just wandering the roadway and alleys, discovering, cafes, craft shops and art galleries nestled amongst the traditional style hanoks. So many things aside from sightseeing can be done in Bukchon. There are cultural experience venues, traditional pottery and jewelry stores. The aromas, the colors, the essences, the past just invade your senses. It's hard not to fall in love with it. When you get to the top you have a fantastic view of old vs modern Korea with hanoks by your feet and modern Seoul skyscrapers in the distance. A paradise for a photography enthusiast such as myself. Definitely one of my favorite areas in Seoul. Be quiet when walking around. You need to talk in whispers as residents do live there and we need to be respectful of this. There are so many people here that local grannies have their own volunteer patrol with signs to instruct the general public to keep the noise level down. #vacation #hanokvillage #bukchonhanokvillage #korea #village
