There is a Bear Hotel in Nantou, Shenzhen, and here is my review

The Light of Nantou Ancient City | Ru'en's Bear Hotel || ▪️Ru'en's first architectural project in Shenzhen, the Bear Hotel, finally got to experience it during this Dragon Boat Festival holiday. ▪️Among the dazzling array of buildings in the entire Nantou Ancient City, the Bear is a very restrained and humble existence. You can see that the facade of the original building is still preserved, just covered with breathable perforated aluminum panels. This is where you start to feel Ru'en's reflective nostalgia from the outside, not stripping away the old, but also introducing the new, the new and the old coexist. ▪️Passing through the lobby into the elevator hall, what you see is the entire transparent traffic layer: the old structure, the clothes drying next door, the smell of food coming, these are not deliberately covered up, but are nakedly displayed in front of you, once again feeling the meaning of reflective nostalgia. Isn't coming to the urban village just to step into their lives? Feel the narrowness between the buildings at close range, the oppressive space but still has the scene of life, these are the real existence of urban village life. And those colorful new shops in the urban village outside are more of a portrayal of gentrification brought by capital, always lacking a bit of local flavor. It is rare that the Bear and Ru'en can stick to such a more humble design and bring a more real experience to everyone. ▪️Entering the room is more about simple comfort, without too much unnecessary decoration. What makes me happiest is that there are many books, which is really worth praising. The original design books that I can't buy usually, I can read enough here. ▪️To be honest, many designs in Nantou Ancient City are too forceful, a bit like P-ing oneself into a web celebrity face in order to cater to aesthetics. The restrained aesthetics of the Bear is a more respectful design for the transformation of the urban village. I am very happy that Shenzhen can finally have a non-impetuous design, which is a good choice for friends who want to choose a designer hotel in Shenzhen. ———
