The town's architecture is uniform, mainly made of stone, and the roofs are also striking red tiles; the scene in front of us is too beautiful, almost unreal, with the blue sky, white clouds, snow-capped mountains, and the extremely uniform architectural style of red-roofed western houses blending perfectly together. The old town here, blessed with sunny weather, is as picturesque as a painting! The old city walls were built by King Erekle II in the 18th century, who also constructed defensive fortifications, and most of the ancient walls and 23 towers are still preserved today. The old town buildings are mostly made of red bricks, traditional in style, and with a slow pace of life, so the old-time atmosphere is quite strong, making it suitable for leisurely travel.
