Asakusa is quintessential Japan

#tokyotrip Asakusa Kannon Temple is the oldest temple in Tokyo. The temple itself is active among locals, so you can see them visiting the place for prayers. The huge lantern at the outer gate is iconic for the site. It’s also next to Nakamise Shopping Street where you can find tons of food and souvenirs. A shopping street of over 200 meters leads from the outer gate to the temple's second gate. Visiting the temple is free of charge. Definitely a must visit temple if you have the time.
