Tokyo, trip of a lifetime. A dream come true

Tokyo was a highlight of 2023 for me as I have wanted to go to Japan for as long as I can remember, getting to finally go was a dream come true. Tokyo is a city famous for it’s food, fashion, culture and of course it’s sprawling size. As the biggest city in the world it is impossible to see everything, but there are definitely some key places to check out if you only have a few days in the city! Shibuya - The infamous Shibuya scramble is one of the busiest crossroads in the world and has been an iconic setting for countless music videos, TV shows and films. There are many side streets that veer off this great junction and it is one of the best places in the city for exploring if you want independent shops, coffee spots and street food. Ginza - A more upmarket area of the city known for it’s luxury shopping and department stores, global affordable brands such as H&M, Uniqlo and Zara also have global flagships here. I checked this place out for the shopping, architecture and fine dining. Tokyo Bay - A fascinating area of the city with a mix of museums, malls and attractions such as Tokyo Disney, Disneysea and team labs Tokyo. The best way to see this interesting area is the metro line as it is fully above ground, like a monorail it snakes around the bay enabling you to see everything the area has to offer. Ueno Park - Houses the Tokyo national museum and the Tokyo Zoo, worth checking out as their collection of Asian artifacts is genuinely astounding. Other highlights include Tokyo Station, Shinjuku, Tokyo Skytree and the Tokyo tower. I would advise around 5 days in Tokyo to cover the main sights.
