The long-standing cultural heritage is engraved in history, while power and authority are fleeting illusions

Is it the grand narrative of the imperial capital that is more awe-inspiring, or the cultural elegance of the city of music that touches the soul more deeply? This is a matter of personal opinion, but at least in Vienna, the answer tends to be the latter. On my second visit to Austria, I am still amazed by its history and culture. The last time, it was the modesty of a small town at the foot of the Alps; this time, it is the prosperity and diversity of the capital.
