I’m spending two days in Wenling, and other matters can wait until I get back.

If we set aside the delicious seafood, what attracts me to Wenling are the wonders of Changyu Dongtian and the beauty of Fangshan. Choosing a weekend to vacation in Wenling is definitely the right choice. ⏰ Take a half-day off on Friday, it’s about a 4-hour drive from Hangzhou, just in time to arrive before sunset and check into the city. Early the next morning, you can visit Jinping Park. 🚘 On the second morning, head straight to Changyu Dongtian, with its 1,314 caves resembling an underground maze! Must-visit spots include Guanxi Cave and Shuiyun Cave, where sunlight penetrates the dome and falls on the clear water, creating a magical interplay of light and shadow; Shuiyun Cave is often shrouded in mist, as if stepping into a fairyland. For families, you can also visit the Panda Pavilion to see the national treasure lazily munching on bamboo. If you have enough time, you can also enjoy the nighttime light show and performances, opening up another way to experience Changyu Dongtian. ⛰️ On the third morning, hike Fangshan and explore the Sky Garden. It takes about an hour from the city to Fangshan. The volcanic rock formations are spectacular. Hike to Yaochi, where the clear water reflects the unique peaks. April is especially romantic with a sea of azaleas in bloom. In the afternoon, stroll along the coastal greenway, feeling the sea breeze on your face. The endpoint, the Couple Rings Viewing Platform, hangs on a cliff, where the double-ring white platform and the emerald East China Sea form a stunning scene. Then head back. ⚠️ Practical Tips 1️⃣ It’s best to spend 3-4 hours at Changyu Dongtian. You can walk the entire route at Guanxi Cave, and for Shuiyun Cave, walk halfway and return the same way. 2️⃣ Fangshan isn’t very high and can be easily climbed. The top road is gentle and offers wide views. It’s recommended to spend 3-4 hours here. 3️⃣ The coastal greenway has shuttle buses running round-trip, with classic photo spots along the way. It’s recommended to spend 1-2 hours. 4️⃣ Jinping Park is perfect for early morning joggers, and its playground facilities are a paradise for kids.
