1. Hainan - Dongfang Dongfang City is located on the west side of Hainan Island. The winter climate is humid but not dry, and it is not as damp and chilly as Haikou to the north. Long-term rental prices are much lower than in the most popular Sanya, and it only takes 1.5 hours by high-speed train to visit Sanya for leisure. Winter daytime temperatures range from 20°C to 25°C. Many seaside communities offer winter long-term rentals, suitable for migratory visitors. In winter, Yulinzou has gentle sunshine, with white sandy beaches and blue seas in sight. Exianling preserves intact original rainforest, perfect for hiking and enjoying rainforest scenery. The surface of Daguangba is calm like a mirror, reflecting green mountains and trees. 2. Yunnan - Pu'er Only 40 minutes by high-speed train from Xishuangbanna, the tourist density instantly decreases. This is not a tourist city, but a city with few people, livable environment, and delicious food. Winter daytime temperatures can reach 25°C, and a light jacket is enough for mornings and evenings. Local cuisine tends to be sour, sweet, and spicy. Around the city are attractions like Nakeli, Tea Expo Garden, Taiyang River National Park, and Nandao River (coffee plantation). There are planned RV campsites on the outskirts. From November to March of the following year is Pu'er coffee harvest season. Spend a warm winter here, sipping authentic Yunnan coffee, with a slow and pleasant pace of life. 3. Sichuan - Xichang The capital city of Liangshan Prefecture, a warm winter paradise between Lushan and Qionghai. The Wumeng Mountains formed by eastern Zhaotong, Bijie, and Liupanshui, along with the northern western Sichuan plateau, directly block cold air, keeping winters warm and mostly sunny here. Qionghai is large, with a lakeside loop of over 35 kilometers. Most lakeside attractions are open-air. Jinlin Beach offers an atmospheric orange sunset. Jianchang Ancient City has a history of over 600 years, with a square layout and bluestone pavements. When the lights come on, it feels rustic and romantic. Dashiban Ancient Village features orange walls arranged in an orderly fashion, perfect for photos. 4. Guangxi - Fangchenggang A city at the southwestern end of mainland China's coastline, bordering Vietnam. Average temperatures range between 15°C and 20°C. Coastal long-term rental housing resources are abundant and cheaper than Beihai and Qinzhou. The city beach at Xiwang is within walking distance, ideal for watching sunset silhouettes. Guai Stone Beach has various oddly shaped reefs, with black reefs and white waves. Wanwei Golden Beach is a popular spot for seaside sunrises and orange seas. Dongxing Port has a strong Vietnamese vibe; chicken rice noodles and drip coffee are standard. The China-Vietnam border gate building is very photogenic, and the Bridgehead Café sells Vietnamese specialties. 5. Sichuan - Miyi A small city in southern Sichuan under Panzhihua City, Miyi in the Anning Valley is accessible by high-speed train. Winter is dry and hot, with daytime temperatures above 20°C, producing abundant tropical fruits. There are many small attractions around Miyi. The layered golden terraced fields in Xinshan Township reflect colorful sunlight during the winter irrigation period. Zhuanxu Dragon Cave is a rare water and land dual karst cave. Walking through the colorful stalactite tunnel offers a stunning visual effect. The palm trees and sunlit flower houses in Sun Valley are very photogenic. 6. Yunnan - Yuanjiang A small city in the Yuanjiang River Valley in central Yunnan, one of Yunnan’s three “furnace” cities, with winter highs exceeding 30°C. The tall and long Ailao Mountains block the northward moisture, resulting in a dry and hot climate all winter. Many hotels and communities in the county offer winter long-term rentals. Surrounding the city are hot springs, orchards, and colorful forests, with plenty of fresh winter fruits. Kunmo Expressway, Yuanman Expressway, and China-Laos Railway intersect here, making travel to nearby cities convenient. A trip to see the Yuanyang Terraces only takes 2 hours by car. It combines the advantages of warm winter escape and sightseeing.
