Reflection of the Matterhorn in Zermatt

However, many Swiss people smoke, even on train platforms, which might be something to note if you dislike smoking. 🌏 Gornergrat A 33-minute cogwheel train ride takes you from Zermatt (elevation 1,620 meters) to Gornergrat (elevation 3,089 meters). It's recommended to sit on the right side of the train for better views, even though it might be sunnier. 🌏 Gornergrat Observation Deck Surrounded by the majestic Alps with peaks over 4,000 meters, you can enjoy stunning views of the Matterhorn on one side and the Gorner Glacier and Grenz Glacier on the other. 🌏 Alpine Lake (Riffelsee) Get off at the next station, Rotenboden, and walk for about 5 minutes to reach Riffelsee. Here, you can capture the breathtaking reflection of the eastern side of the Matterhorn in the lake. The area is also adorned with small stone piles shaped like the Matterhorn.
