Parents with kids during summer break know the struggle – packing feels like moving house, and the itinerary is more exhausting than work... This time, we escaped to Enping Shanquan Bay and stayed in the "Poolside Water Access Room." My daughter slipped into the water from the balcony in her swimsuit before I could even stop her, while I lounged on the chair eating ice cream🍦. Now this is what a vacation should be💕 🌊 Must-try for water lovers: Poolside rooms with direct pool access: Free rentals of Instagrammable floats and paddleboards (you can even paddle to the hot spring area!). The bathtub🛁 in the room is filled with real hot spring water! 🧊 Cool water battles: Splash fights in the wave pool, water basketball, and obstacle courses – my daughter was thrilled the whole time, even competing with other kids😂. After three hours of screaming, their energy was drained, but then they recharged in the various hot springs♨️ and kept playing! 💃 Tons of summer parent-child activities: underwater-themed stage shows, character parades, lakeside concerts, water-splashing festivals, family carnivals, water challenges, and DIY workshops – two days packed with fun✌️ 🥢 Dinner at the hotel’s Fuyuan Restaurant serves Cantonese cuisine. The dishes aren’t just photogenic but also perfectly suit Cantonese tastes – fresh, sweet, and not too oily or salty. My daughter loved the Leek Chicken on a Wicker Tray and the Passion Fruit Spareribs😋 🍺🍢 Must-visit Riverside BBQ Bar: Live music with honey-glazed chicken legs, and my daughter happily munched on corn while swaying to the tunes! Evening river breezes made it all so relaxing💕 A 2-hour drive from Guangzhou for this all-in-one family resort? Absolutely worth it! 🏠 Shanquan Bay Hot Spring Hotel 📍 Location: Datian Town, Enping, Jiangmen

As a Jiangmen local, I never discovered the charm of Jiangmen before. If it weren't for movies often choosing to film here, I wouldn't have discovered Jiangmen's beauty. This time, my route started from home, walking along the Long Dyke 👉🏻 Victory Bridge 👉🏻 Pedestrian Street 👉🏻 Thirty-three Market Street 👉🏻 Zhongshan Park 👉🏻 Penglai Park. It feels so nostalgic because these are all paths I walked as a child 🚶🏻‍♀️ Now, walking these childhood routes again, I realize how beautiful my city really is ❤️

🏘️Room type/layout: The hotel mainly has three room types. 1. Waterside Room, located on the first floor, with a private hot spring pool on the balcony, and direct access to the hot spring swimming lane. The swimming lane changes with the temperature of the four seasons. It is cool in summer and a hot spring in autumn and winter, so you can play in the water at any time. 2. High-floor Private Hot Spring Water View Twin Room, with the same layout as the first-floor poolside room, and a private hot spring pool on the balcony, but no direct access to the swimming lane. It is more suitable for couples who value privacy. 3. Garden View Room, with the same layout and area as other room types, and a balcony, but no private hot spring pool. Some family suites have bathtubs. Garden View Rooms are more cost-effective. 🧹Soundproofing/hygiene: The room is quite clean, mainly because of the hot spring. They do not use furnace water or recycled water, but underground hot spring water, so it is relatively clean. 🎯Entertainment facilities: Indoor and outdoor children's playgrounds, table tennis, billiard room, chess and card room, KTV, and other entertainment facilities are available. 🍽️Restaurant features/executive lounge: Their Chinese restaurant has won the Enping Food Award, and the taste is very good. Although the environment is not very good and the facilities are a bit old, But the kids had a great time! I've been there for the second time since returning to Hong Kong a few days ago! ! 🚗Transportation - Take a taxi from the hot spring hotel. Remember to remind the driver that you need to go to the ticket exit After 12 o'clock, you can walk from the hotel, which takes about 5-10 minutes. On the way back, it is recommended to walk back to the hotel from the park at 8 o'clock. There will be fireflies on the way. ~ Day 1. Go to Shixia with the kids, put the food in the warehouse and go out to find some food. I want to go to Nanshan to eat and have fun + find the courier who used to work for me to eat dessert at night But the card is not authenticated and cannot load to the Internet🫠 I can only find a place with Wi-Fi to go and try it first. The food I stumbled into by accident is delicious😋 My brother really enjoyed the cold noodles, and then went to Zuojia to play the video game. The two of them are so wild, there is nothing to do in Hong Kong, I'll play enough when I come here, I'll go eat dinner when everyone closes Day 2. Take the high-speed rail to Enping. Luckily, I didn’t meet any little kids. As soon as I arrived, I took an expensive taxi to the hotel🏨🫠 The taxi driver also said that there would be no takeaway delivery, and he would not call other cars to go in and out. He left our WeChat and asked us to find him when we go out. Do you think he is stupid? After dropping off our luggage at the hotel, we went out to find some food. Our first meal was at a nearby farm. Eat Zuo Enping's famous goose, cold cucumber, coriander tofu fish soup The owner said that 3 people would not be able to eat enough, but everything was very big... The amount of 25 yuan cucumber is at least the amount of 7-8 plates of Tanzai on a normal day🥹 It's a pity that my brother can't afford it. My brother really pays for the food. All three are delicious. I even prefer the dried goose if I don't eat Chinese food or wild gourds with bones. Finally, after eating the flowers, I mentioned that I didn’t take a photo. Then we went to the hotel to soak in the hot springs♨️, Actually, I just went to swim and soak in the hot water. Huahua tried fish therapy for the first time, I don’t know why all the fish avoided the channel😂 Played from 2pm to 6pm, then went to the hotel to play in the bathtub and order sushi 🥱 Day 3. Get up early and have breakfast. Then go to a nearby park. There is a zoo, small amusement rides and a water park inside. Call Didi and take a ride there for 5 dollars🫣 The only thing you can do when you enter is to see animals~ It's fun to be with them. When I pass by a deer and see that there is something to feed, I buy a cup of carrots and feed them to the deer. Then I watched the horse and saw a monkey trapped alone with one hand and the remaining hand stretched out like that. I wonder what it wants to eat🥺 Huahua said that he was so pitiful and wanted to take him home. I went to the parrot park to feed the parrots, but it was their feeding time, so I just watched and left🤥 After that I went to feed the sheep 🐑, I wanted to just pick up a cup of carrots and flowers, but when my aunt saw the flowers, she immediately told me not to pick it up, and then refilled a large cup with flowers 😎 I went to the red and white flying squirrel Godo again 😎 I wanted to buy a cup of chestnuts 🌰 to feed the squirrel, but I couldn't receive any, and couldn't load the internet But Huahua has already gone to the left The aunt brought some chestnuts in and fed them to Huahua first, then filled the cup with chestnuts and fed Huahua to her, and after a while, she finished paying the money. Dad said there was a flower. I fed it two or three grains. I just followed the flower. It was a pity that I couldn't take a picture. We passed by and saw some shooting guns. Huahua said she wanted to play with them, but she was too tired and dad finally took care of it. They played with the kachao instead. I told dad that we really wanted to play with the bigger kachao. Then Huahua said that I was the one who played with my brother, and my brother had no choice but to play with me. I have some pretty headbands to change into, but I don’t want any flowers. I find it strange that I want to compete with Kachao. It turns out it’s because of this🥹. Then I went to play some small amusement rides, most of which required more than 110 😥 Huahua was a few CM short, so she was not tall enough to play with. She had to play with a little bit of a sly to play with her. My dad and I said it was a pity that her brother didn't play with her. 🥹 Obviously she was looking forward to playing with her the most. In the end, Huahua played with water shooting, small trains, train rides, and airplane rides. The airplane worker brother saw Huahua and played with her for longer. 🤪 Until the next kid stopped the machine first and let the other kid go up We saw a Ferris wheel 🎡 and a glass slide on the top of the mountain, and then we walked up the long stairs to the top. When we got up, we found something called a magic carpet that could carry people up 🫠. We took it out, but the Ferris wheel was too high and my dad didn't want to ride it because he was afraid it was dangerous. Then we went to the glass slide and asked, luckily Huahua was so cute to play with it, and it was 100 dollars per ride for three friends 🤭. It's so fun to play with the flowers, I want to play it many times. Finally we went to the water park that Zuo Huahua had been longing for. The first place we went to was the baby pool. At first we didn’t dare to play on the slide. We should have called him to fall down. But the idiot moved forward before falling into the water and fell out. We were so scared that we didn’t dare to play anymore. After that we went to play on the slides, and after playing for a while we went to the big pool, and then played in the rubber boats and surfing pool. When we got to the surfing pool, Huahua wanted to leave at first, but then she didn’t want to leave 😂. After playing in the sun, I went to the baby pool to play on the slide 🛝, and finally dared to play other things. After playing for a while, I saw that it started to get dark and left because I was afraid of rain. When I was planning to go to the hotel, I found myself at the wrong door and arrived there earlier than me. Went there for the free dinner, the fried meat was changed to bell pepper 🫑 fried meat with hot pepper, and I forgot to take a photo. I don’t know if it’s because of the comparison with the little brats in another station, but I heard the uncles and aunties in the quarantine station 👂🏻 praised Huahua for being cute and well-behaved. He ate his meal by himself and drank his soup without any hesitation. They also said that his little shirt was so cute, and there was a pair of wings behind his back 🥳. As soon as I checked into the hotel room, I went out to the night market. At first I was worried that no one would take the order, but it turned out that it was just 1 Call. Luckily I got there in time. The driver even asked me to call him again when I leave, and he would wait nearby. Passed by a claw machine shop, but it was too late. I will go there next time I have the chance🤪. The night market is very peaceful, Huahua went there like a princess, I wanted to flirt with him, but he made me lose my mood when I tried to sell oysters 🫤, he didn't listen when I asked him about money, he just nodded and didn't look when I showed him the screen, and he didn't tell me when I would pay for a long time. When I finally paid, he asked for the payment record, and he said he was busy and it was none of my business 🤥. In the end, he couldn't load it several times, so I asked the chef to take my money. Then we went back to the hotel and finished the night, but it was too late today and it would take a long time to check out the next morning🤭. Day 4. Checked out at 12pm. I wanted to go to the farm for lunch on the first day. I waited for a long time inside and no one responded to me. My friends also kept standing together. Finally, I went to another small shop for lunch. Then I unexpectedly found delicious food. My father didn’t want to eat, so I ordered some white rice noodles. After eating, I sat in the hotel and called Didi to take the high-speed rail. When I got there, I rushed to buy Cinnamon Dog xCoCo. It was the first day of sale, and the clerk knew nothing about it. I found that the Cinnamon Dog drink was served in a cup, which was very exciting. I wanted to go grab dolls and play video games with Huahua again, but the Didi driver couldn't find us and we didn't have our phone, so it took us half an hour to get in the car, and we ran into rush hour 🫠. There was no signal when I got to the machine shop. I wanted to connect to Wi-Fi but I didn’t have a phone number to receive SMS. In the end, I went back home to Hong Kong 😵‍💫. Then I got on the left train for a few stops, turned left a few times and arrived at Luohu. I had to spend money at the last stop. It was so urgent. Fortunately, there was a kid who went to the toilet with me. It's a pity that I can only show 20 photos 😳 There are many more photos that I can't show Li Jin's next travel plan is to take a cruise 😆 My parents took a cruise every summer vacation. I hope both kids can experience it! ! #Sign up for a cruise test seat #Good place for families #Mainland China attractions

This restaurant is located in the Yihao Western Restaurant next to the elevator in the lobby of Enping Yihao Hotel. The restaurant is very large, with wide and comfortable seats. There is a large TV to watch news reports from all over the world. The interior decoration is elegant, and the seats outside have fresh air and are quiet enough, and you can also enjoy the charming night view. The buffet dinner session was from 7pm to 9pm, which was enough time to enjoy all the delicious food. I saw that the drinks included different fruit juices, soy milk, coffee, black tea, beer and bottled Vitasoy, which is the favorite of Hong Kong people. This surprised me. The food includes hot food, sushi, salad, Chinese and Western soup, Chinese dessert, various seafood and desserts. I tried all kinds of seafood, each one was fresh and sweet. The desserts were one bite long and not greasy. The restaurant staff was very fast in replenishing drinks and food, and they were also considerate enough to give each person a dessert coupon (whole papaya stewed with snow fungus). The papaya was sweet and the snow fungus was chewy, which was very satisfying. A seafood buffet at only three hundred dollars is cheap and good value compared to Hong Kong. I would give it 8 points and hope everyone will like my introduction.

On the first day of Easter, I took the first tourist bus to Shenzhen Bay Port. When I arrived at the port, it was already crowded, but the customs clearance was smooth. Perhaps it was because of the large crowds, the customs did not check the black code. I just had to wait 20 minutes when I reached the luggage belt before I could pass. Finally, I completed the customs clearance procedure within half an hour. We took a two and a half hour mainland tourist bus to arrive at our destination hotel (Enping Yihao Hotel). When we entered the hotel lobby, we saw many tour groups. The waiter kindly asked us to sit down and wait for a while. After getting the room card, I excitedly went up to the room. The room was on the 22nd floor. The elevator lobby and corridors were spacious and bright. The room was very clean and hygienic, with good sound insulation and was very quiet. The bedding was also very comfortable, with great attention to detail. The disposable toothbrushes were of good quality, and bath salts were provided for bathing. If you need a bathtub bag, you can ask the waiter for it. I noticed a special feature of this hotel: food and supplies are delivered to guest rooms by electric robots, which is quite high-tech. The hotel is in a great location, next to the Jinjiang River, with a great view, and the scenery is even more impressive at night. It is very convenient to dine and shop nearby at night. The hotel also specially sent small gifts (drinks and snacks) as midnight snacks. I would give this accommodation experience a score of 90, and I hope this post can help everyone.

The Huahai Ferris wheel of Guangdong Huahai Joy World is 120 meters high and is the only mountain ferris wheel in the Wuyi area. Happy Ferris Wheel, taking the passengers to the unobstructed, extremely beautiful sea of flowers, overlooking the window, can see the scenery of the flower world of the sea, I saw the Enping here. The most beautiful sunset. The sun set at the time. The afterglow of the setting sun laps through the upper peaks of the Wuyi Earth, filled with the beauty of the lines. The Ferris wheel is a fairy-tale mountain ferris wheel with 24 transparent pods. The beautiful lighting effect makes the night view of the park especially beautiful. I saw this kind of scenery in a circle. When I boarded the cabin, the sunset glowed the sky red; after a circle, the sun was down, and the sky turned into a charming purple, very Pretty.

Enjoy the sunset and taste Tanjiang cuisine. Tanjiang, one of the delta rivers of the Pearl River water system, known as the Jade Water, Yunshui, Fengshui, Junzi River or Yunzi River, has been called Tanjiang since the Northern and Southern Dynasties. It originated from Niuweiling, Yangdong County, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province. It flows from west to east through Enping, Kaiping, Taishan and Xinhui. It is turned southward in the vicinity of Shuangshui Town, Xinhui, and is injected into the Yellow Sea Sea through the entrance of Yingzhou Lake. . Face the invincible river view, watch Tanjiang slowly sunset, taste the local river fresh. The shrimps are sweet and sweet, the yellow-footed squid and the mud are very delicious, and the pepper and bean curd is a new realm. Sit in the breeze to taste the food, life is also fun.

Just eating farmhouse food is not fun? Then move on to the farm to experience the joy of harvesting and the happiness of harvest! Located in the southwest of No.3 Farm, Shengxi Farm is the best place for Hengdaquandu to be a good size or three-five friends. The whole farm has a large area, including rice area, banana planting area, vegetable growing area, and fruit greenhouse area. However, the most attractive thing for me is the fruit forest, because there is the lemon that attracts me the most. Perfume lemon fruit type is longer than the general variety of lemon, and large and non-nuclear, the biggest feature is that the peel taste is sweet, completely without the bitter taste of other lemons, not only can directly slice the water, but also can make lemon honey.

Visiting Jiangmen in autumn, the weather is still warm, and the rice in the fields has just turned yellow🌾 Take the train from Guangzhou South, and you'll arrive at Jiangmen Station in just over half an hour. There are also stations to the west in Kaiping and Enping. Check the departure times on your phone and pick a schedule that works for you🚄 You can make it if you leave after work on Friday, or take a morning train on Saturday for a more relaxed start. A two-day, one-night trip is just enough time to fit in the diaolou, arcade houses, and dried tangerine peel. Head to Kaiping on the first day. The diaolou (watchtowers) are tucked away in the rice paddies, looking like small towers growing out of the fields from a distance, three to five stories high🍂 You only see the details when you get close: thick walls, narrow windows on the lower floors with iron grilles, and a colonnade protruding from the top floor. Some even have small pavilions on the roof, with rows of floral decorations along the eaves. These towers were built in the early days to defend against bandits and floods, with staircases set in the corners and a series of gun slits from top to bottom. Some were built by several families pooling their money to store grain and goods, and to hide in during emergencies; others were built next to private homes. The village surrounds the diaolou, with houses huddled together, straight alleys, and a spacious ancestral hall standing at the entrance of the village. Half the rice has been harvested in autumn, and straw is piled up on the ridges. Standing by the fields and looking at the diaolou and the cluster of houses together is more interesting than looking at a single building. The Kaiping Diaolou and Villages are listed as a World Heritage site, with Zili Village and Majianglong being the most concentrated areas. Go to Chikan in the afternoon. An old street of arcade houses stretches along the river. Below the buildings are long corridors supported by pillars, where people can walk, sheltered from the sun and rain☂️ Most of the arcade houses are two or three stories high, with slender pillars, carved window lintels, and top floors featuring a mix of Chinese patterns and Western-style pediments and railings. The old street connects several sections, each with its own old-fashioned charm. You can still make out the old shop signs on the pillars and lintels. Small boats are moored by the river, and the buildings facing the water are exceptionally long, a reminder of the days when this area was bustling with water transport. The street surface has been renovated, but the original structure remains. There are tea shops and snack stalls under the corridors, perfect for sitting down and watching the river for a while. When you get to Jiangmen, you can't miss the dried tangerine peel. Almost every household in the Xinhui area dries tangerine peel, spreading the peels on bamboo trays to flip and dry in the sun. The older it is, the darker the color🍊 The citrus orchards are full of Xinhui tangerines, which are being harvested in autumn. When buying dried tangerine peel, ask how old it is and how it's priced before deciding how much to get. It's often used in cooking, adding flavor to duck soup and red bean soup, leaving a sweet aftertaste. For dinner, add a serving of roast goose, a plate of le-cai (a local vegetable), and a bowl of soup for a satisfying meal. The spots in Jiangmen are spread out, so renting a car or hiring a driver is more convenient. There are buses, but they aren't very frequent. If you want to visit more than two places in a day, arranging your own transport will save time. There are also some old streets in the city center. Take a walk along the river in the evening, and let the river breeze slow you down. Dedicate the second day to Enping. The hot spring pools have different temperatures and are scattered under the trees. A soak will leave you feeling relaxed, with steam rising from the water surface♨️ Enping Hot Spring Town is nestled against the mountains, with dozens of pools of various sizes, some outdoors and some semi-covered. After soaking for a while and working up a sweat, switch to a cooler pool to relax. Ginger tea is provided by the pools; drink a cup after a long soak to warm up. The town is quiet at night, and you'll sleep soundly after a soak. For accommodation, Chikan or Kaiping have homestays converted from old houses, which are quiet at night. If you want less hassle, stay in the city center, where there are more hotels to choose from. Weekend rooms fill up fast, so book early. When you head out the next day, remember that the spots in Kaiping and Enping are far apart, so don't try to do too much in one day. Picking one or two diaolou clusters plus an ancient town is enough. The sun sets early in October, so catch an afternoon train and leave plenty of time for your taxi. Before you leave, pick up a box of dried tangerine peel and a pack of Enping rice noodles to cook when you get home. After two days, the yellow of the rice, the corridors of the arcade houses, and the fragrance of the tangerine peel blend together to create that unhurried taste of autumn. On the way back, looking through the photos you took, the diaolou, the water town, and the vast rice fields all come back to you.

Just finished a 3-day trip to Jiangmen, and I'm sharing my honest experience from the heart 😭 The scenery and food in this hometown of overseas Chinese are great, but without doing your homework, it's easy to fall into various tourist traps and waste money. Here is my field-tested guide for October–November—save these tips to avoid the pitfalls! 🌦️October–November travel pain points The temperature is comfortable, but sudden showers can happen anytime, easily disrupting outdoor plans There are still many mosquitoes in wetlands, water towns, and fields, making outdoor activities uncomfortable Attractions are spread out; Pengjiang, Xinhui, and Kaiping are far apart, and public transport is time-consuming and exhausting Food and souvenirs at ancient towns and popular social media spots are heavily overpriced; it's easy to get overcharged if you're not careful October is peak seafood season; if you don't check the unit price and weight at food stalls, you might encounter price gouging Popular dried tangerine peel shops have many tricks, often mislabeling the age of the peel, making it easy for beginners to overpay for the wrong product 📍Attraction pros and cons 🎬33 Market Street ✅Filming location for "The Knockout," strong atmosphere in the old arcade street district, great for photos, free to visit ❌Long lines for popular pork trotter noodles and creative milk tea; restaurants along the street are overpriced and often pushy with sales 💡Avoid meal times, just take photos, and try to eat at old local shops in the surrounding residential areas 🏯Kaiping Zili Village Watchtowers ✅World Cultural Heritage site, unique layout of watchtowers in the fields, rich in Republican-era overseas Chinese history, wide views ❌Spread out, long distances between ticketed points, inconvenient rural transport, expensive drinks and snacks inside the scenic area 💡Self-driving is recommended; buy a joint ticket, bring your own drinking water, and don't hire unlicensed guides on the roadside 🏘️Chikan Overseas Chinese Ancient Town ✅Renovated Republican-era arcade town, excellent night view atmosphere, the tram is very unique ❌Very commercialized, overpriced snacks and food inside, limited dining options 💡The night view is worth a special visit; eat your main meals in the town outside the scenic area for better value 🌿Gulao Water Town ✅Original Lingnan water town, connected fish ponds, very healing to cruise by boat, comfortable slow pace ❌Many extra charges for boat rides, easy to get upsold, mosquitoes are dense on outdoor boardwalks 💡Best to take the boat in the evening; bring mosquito repellent with you 🦅Bird Paradise ✅Same scene from textbooks, take a boat to see egrets returning to their nests, great ecological environment ❌Birds mainly appear at dawn and dusk; very few birds during the day, long wait times for boats 💡Try to enter the park early in the morning or in the evening; check the bird activity times in advance 📅3-day seasonal itinerary | Avoid pitfalls, relaxed pace Day 1 | Slow stroll in Pengjiang city 33 Market Street check-in → Stroll along Changdi Arcade Old Street → Eat at local old shops, night tour of the city Day 2 | Xinhui cultural route Bird Paradise (choose the right time for a boat ride) → Quick visit to Chenpi Village, shop for local specialties rationally → Check out an old roast goose shop in Gujing Town Day 3 | Kaiping overseas Chinese route Zili Village Watchtowers → Chikan Ancient Town, enjoy the night view, return in the evening 🍲Food recommendations (look for local neighborhood shops, be careful with scenic area options) Gujing Roast Goose | Roasted over lychee wood, crispy skin, tender meat, and juicy; must go to an old, established shop in Gujing Taishan Eel Rice | Silky rice absorbs the fresh aroma of the eel, crispy scorched rice at the bottom, a must-eat signature dish Kaiping Tofu Corners | Crispy outside and tender inside, affordable street snack, tastes amazing with chili sauce Dried Tangerine Peel Squab | With a faint fragrance of dried tangerine peel, tender meat, unique flavor Enping Rice Noodles | Soft and chewy texture, savory soup base, authentic Cantonese breakfast 📝Objective summary Jiangmen's overseas Chinese scenery and food resources are truly worth exploring in depth. The climate in October–November is pleasant, but consumption traps, long-distance commuting, and sudden showers are the biggest challenges. Do not easily trust merchants who solicit business on the street, confirm prices when ordering, and compare prices before buying local specialties. Plan your transportation in advance, keep a relaxed mindset, and don't blindly visit popular social media spots; this is the only way to avoid major pitfalls and truly feel the charm of this small city.

Jiangmen, Shaoguan, and Baoding are all accessible by high-speed rail, and they have so many kid-friendly activities you'll be spoiled for choice. The kids won't want to go home! Jiangmen, Guangdong | The country's first bitter melon-themed park, kids will scream with joy Jiangmen is a seriously underrated treasure for traveling with kids! The country's first bitter melon-themed park, "Bitter Melon Tribe," just opened for a trial run in Duru Town, Pengjiang District. It's themed around forest animals and features three large animal-themed slides and a huge sand pit. Covering about 3,000 square meters, kids won't want to leave once they see the slides. The park also has a water play area, climbing area, and plant experience area, with free parking available. Free science treasures: The "Nature Home" at Renhua Chengnan Forest Park is free to enter. It includes 8 exhibition halls, and the nature science classroom can accommodate 60 students. They've added hundreds of plant seeds, insect specimens, and over 500 books for teenagers. The guides are friendly and patient—it's a meaningful way to help kids learn about nature. Zhongshan Park is also free and has a children's activity area, over 20 ancient trees, and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall to visit along the way. Must-eat: Beef brisket skewers are a Lechang specialty—meatballs, brisket, and tendon skewered together, drizzled with a secret sauce. They're full of flavor, affordable, and were named one of the top 10 "Shaozhou Hakka" dishes in 2023. Snail soup with pickled bamboo shoots is tangy and appetizing, and pickled radishes are crunchy and delicious—flavors Shaoguan locals grow up eating. Travel tips: From Wenzhou, you need to transfer at Hengyang East or Shenzhen North. The whole trip takes about 8–9 hours, so we recommend planning your transfers in advance. Baoding | Cloud Park + artificial beach, fun for all ages Huanghuagou Park in Baoding is truly the ceiling of kid-friendly parks! The East Park has the largest skateboard bowl pool complex in North China, which looks like a blooming lotus from above. Baoding Botanical Garden is free to enter and offers lawn picnics, lakeside walks, and children's play areas—perfect for a healing family trip. Must-eat: Donkey meat burger is the soul of Baoding! The freshly baked bun is golden and crispy, stuffed with braised donkey meat that's neither greasy nor dry—it's delicious. Paired with a bowl of hot soup and pickles, it's the most comforting breakfast for locals. Travel tips: From Wenzhou, you need to transfer in Beijing or Changsha. The whole trip takes about 11 hours, so we recommend a high-speed rail + transfer combination. Tips for traveling with kids Take it slow: Plan only 1–2 core activities per day and return to the hotel for a nap at noon—the kids' energy is more important than anything else. Prioritize free: There are endless free parks and science museums in these three cities—you can have a blast without spending a dime on tickets. Transportation choices: Jiangmen and Baoding are further away, so we recommend breaking up the trip or taking an overnight sleeper train. Transfers in Shaoguan are relatively convenient. Which one do you want to take your kids to most? Let me know in the comments!

I just finished a 3-day trip to Jiangmen and want to share some honest advice! The photos of the overseas Chinese-style arcades and watchtowers online are incredibly atmospheric, but Jiangmen is very humid in October, muggy in the afternoons, and prone to sudden rain showers. Plus, the attractions are spread out, so you'll spend a lot of time traveling back and forth between Pengjiang, Kaiping, and Xinhui. However, if you do your homework to avoid the pitfalls, the century-old arcades, World Heritage watchtowers, and tons of authentic Cantonese food make it worth the trip.✨ 🚗 Transportation routes 📍 Jiangmen, Guangdong. High-speed rail is best to Jiangmen Station, which is convenient for Xinhui and the city center; Jiangmen East Station is closer to 33 Market Street. Riding a shared bike around the old streets in the city is comfortable, but the Kaiping Watchtowers and Chikan Overseas Chinese Town are far from the city center, and bus service is infrequent, so renting a car or carpooling is recommended. 3-day relaxed itinerary: D1 Arrival, 33 Market Street + Qimingli, evening stroll in Changdi Historical District; D2 Kaiping Zili Village Watchtower Cluster + Chikan Overseas Chinese Town, to see century-old overseas Chinese architecture; D3 Xinhui Bird Paradise, eat roast goose, buy local specialties, and head home. ⚠️ Attractions are far apart across regions, so don't cram too many spots into one day, or you'll get exhausted from traveling. 🏨 Accommodation If you want to explore old streets and eat snacks, choose a hotel near 33 Market Street in Pengjiang District; you'll be right by the arcades, and it costs CNY 280–420/night during the National Day holiday. If you plan to explore the Kaiping Watchtowers in depth, you can stay at a homestay around Chikan Ancient Town for CNY 240–380. For better value, stay at a chain hotel near Jiangmen Station for CNY 220–350. ⚠️ Many homestays in the old town are renovated from old houses, and some rooms can be damp, so check the room descriptions in advance. 💰 Budget reference (per person, 3 days and 2 nights, excluding round-trip transportation) Accommodation + local transportation + food + attraction tickets total about CNY 1,200. 33 Market Street and Qimingli are free; expenses are mainly for the watchtower joint ticket and local specialties. Money-saving tips: Don't eat roast goose at shops near the scenic area entrance; go to local, long-standing shops. For dried tangerine peel specialties, prioritize reputable shops in the city. 🍜 Food recommendations ✅ Gujing Roast Goose | A Jiangmen signature dish, roasted over an open lychee wood fire, with crispy skin and tender meat, full of savory aroma. Be sure to eat it while hot ✅ Taishan Eel Rice | Clay pot-cooked, with firm eel meat and rice soaked in sauce, plus super fragrant crispy rice crust ✅ Chenpi (Dried Tangerine Peel) Pork Ribs | A Xinhui specialty, where the fresh aroma of dried tangerine peel cuts through the greasiness of the meat, making it sweet and savory ✅ Enping Laifen (Rice Noodles) | Thick rice noodles with a fresh broth, served with shredded meat and peanuts; a local breakfast favorite ✅ Hetang Fish Cake | Handmade pounded dace fish cakes, chewy and savory when pan-fried, and delicious in soup ✅ Wampee Fruit Drink | A local specialty drink, sweet, sour, and refreshing; perfect to drink after strolling through the old streets 📍 Must-visit recommendations ▪️ 33 Market Street (Pengjiang District) | Filming location for "The Knockout," a century-old arcade street. The Xuding old street has a great atmosphere, it's free to explore, and you can easily take retro photos ▪️ Qimingli | A cluster of old overseas Chinese buildings with colorful old houses. It's less crowded than the market street and quiet, making it suitable for walking and taking photos ▪️ Zili Village Watchtower Cluster (Kaiping City) | A World Cultural Heritage site with watchtowers surrounded by rice paddies. The architecture combines Chinese and Western styles and is truly stunning ▪️ Chikan Overseas Chinese Town (Kaiping City) | A century-old arcade town built along the Tan River. When the lights come on in the evening, it's full of stories about overseas Chinese ▪️ Bird Paradise (Xinhui District) | A bird habitat described by Ba Jin. Take a boat to see the ancient banyan trees and resting birds ▪️ Liang Qichao's Former Residence (Xinhui District) | A century-old house where you can learn about modern history in a quiet and serene environment 📌 Travel tips 1. Jiangmen is humid and muggy in October, and sudden rain showers are common in the afternoon, so carry an umbrella. There are many mosquitoes outdoors, so remember to bring mosquito repellent. There are many stone-paved roads in the old streets, so wear comfortable flat shoes. 2. You need to book online in advance for the Kaiping Watchtowers and Liang Qichao's Former Residence, so plan your travel time accordingly. 3. Keep quiet when visiting watchtowers and old residences, do not touch the walls or artifacts, and be a respectful visitor. 4. Allow plenty of time for cross-regional travel; traffic to Kaiping can be heavy during holidays, so leave early. 5. Confirm prices in advance when eating seafood or roast goose to avoid hidden costs; buy dried tangerine peel from reputable stores. 6. Local residents still live in the old town, so please don't disturb their daily lives when taking photos. Although Jiangmen is muggy and rainy in October, and the attractions are scattered, requiring a lot of travel, when you stand by the rice paddies looking at the ancient watchtowers, stroll through the century-old arcades, and take a bite of crispy roast goose, the unique local life and profound history of this overseas Chinese hometown will make you feel it was worth the trip. Prepare for rain and sun, slow down your pace, and Jiangmen will surprise you

My stay at Rice Warehouse was a perfect experience, with a comfortable and convenient one-stop solution for dining, accommodation, transportation, and activities. The guesthouse is easy to find, with convenient parking for those driving, and scenic rural views along the way. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking vast rice paddies in a tranquil environment. The amenities were complete, and the butler service was attentive and thoughtful. For dining, try Xiaoxin Kitchen, which offers authentic local dishes featuring wild greens. The guesthouse's café is also photogenic, and there's live music in the evenings – a fantastic atmosphere! There are many activities to enjoy nearby, including stream tracing, vegetable picking, watching the sunset from the terrace in the evening, and stargazing at night – perfect for taking beautiful photos. Overall, it's a relaxing and therapeutic retreat, ideal for families or friends seeking a short getaway away from the city hustle and bustle. Highly recommended, I'll definitely come back next time!

Board at Guangzhou South and arrive at Enping Station in just over an hour. 🚄 The station is in Dongcheng Town. Stepping out, you're greeted by low-rise buildings and lush greenery. The sky is a clear blue, and the breeze feels cool—after a stuffy summer, Guangdong is finally cooling down. Driving from Shenzhen is also easy; take the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link to the expressway, and you'll be there in no time. A two-day, one-night trip is plenty. Arrive Saturday morning, head straight to the hot springs, visit the ancient village in the afternoon, see the mangroves the next day, and head back after lunch. Enping's attractions are scattered around the suburbs. Taxis are convenient, and while there are buses, they don't run very often, so it's easier to share a ride if you're in a group. Enping is known as the "Hometown of Hot Springs in China," and geothermal energy is its specialty. Underground fault lines run through the city, causing hot water to rise through the cracks. With many natural springs and stable temperatures, it's perfect for soaking year-round. ♨️ There are plenty of hot spring resorts in and around the city. Places like Shanquanwan, Jinjiang, and Jinshan all feature outdoor pools. The water is mostly carbonate-based, which feels smooth on the skin and doesn't leave you feeling stuffy after a long soak. Choose a resort with outdoor areas and wading pools. Soaking from the afternoon into the evening, wrapped in the warmth, is the perfect way to feel relaxed. If you're traveling with kids, look for resorts with children's water areas so everyone can have a good time. Rotate between pools—don't just jump into the hottest one. Soak for 20 minutes, take a break, and then get back in for the most comfortable experience. After your soak, head to Xiema Juren Village. 🏮 Located in Shengtang Town, the village dates back to the Yuan Dynasty. Over the centuries of the Ming and Qing dynasties, it produced a large number of scholars who passed the imperial examinations, earning it the name "Juren Village" (Scholar Village). Upon entering, you'll see the stele forest, with stone tablets engraved with names and reign years. Flagpole holders are lined up in a row—it's said that a pair was erected for every successful candidate in the past. The ancestral halls and old alleys remain, with moss growing on the blue brick walls, low-hanging eaves, and intricate wood carvings still visible on the lintels. The "Men's Alley" and "Women's Alley" are especially narrow—just wide enough for two people to walk side by side, and you can touch the walls with a slight turn of your hand. The village is small, so a leisurely stroll will take about an hour. Please don't touch the historical artifacts; just take photos. People still live in the alleys, so please keep your voice down. Get up early the next day and head to the Zhenhai Bay Mangroves. 🌿 This mangrove forest stretches across the mudflats, a scale rarely seen in the Pearl River Delta, and serves as a habitat for birds, fish, and shrimp. The wooden boardwalk is elevated above the water. At low tide, you can see the clusters of roots supporting the trees, fiddler crabs scuttling sideways with their large claws, and mudskippers hopping on the mud. 🦀 There are plenty of birds in the early morning; egrets skim across the water, and in the distance, flocks of small water birds take off and land. The only sound is the soft thud of footsteps on the boardwalk, naturally making you walk more quietly. The boardwalk isn't long—you can finish it in an hour—so don't rush, and please don't step down into the mudflats. There's a bird-watching platform at the end; stand there to avoid the crowds and get a better view. When it comes to Enping's food, remember two things. 🍜 Laifen (rice noodles) are smooth and fragrant. A bowl for breakfast paired with some roast meat and a side of vegetables is perfect. Le-cai (acanthopanax) soup is slightly bitter, a local favorite—it starts with a hint of bitterness but leaves a sweet aftertaste. For lunch, find a small restaurant in town; the eel rice, braised goose, and river seafood are all hearty, with generous portions, and won't break the bank. Don't miss out on Enping sesame cakes—they have a crispy crust and a chewy texture. In the evening, back in the city, the street food stalls set up their tents. It's lively, but be sure to ask about portion sizes before ordering to avoid leftovers. There are pros to staying in either area. If you want to soak, stay at a hotel in the hot spring resort area; rooms with private soaking pools are convenient for a morning and evening dip. If you're looking to save money, stay in the city center. Hotels and inns are affordable, and you'll be close to dining and shopping, with just a 30-minute drive to the hot spring area. Weekend hot spring hotels fill up quickly, so book your room as soon as your itinerary is set. If you have an extra half-day, you can hike up Aofeng Mountain in the north of the city, or take a relaxing walk along the greenway by the Jinjiang River. In the evening, the river breeze blows away the heat. Many people from Enping emigrated abroad in the past, and the old streets and alleys still retain some buildings with a Nanyang (Southeast Asian) flair. The eaves and window frames are unique, and it's worth a look if you're passing by. Back in the city at night, the food stalls and dessert shops open up. Sit down, take a load off, and let the day's fatigue melt away. For your return trip, depart from Enping Station. The station is a bit of a distance from the city center, so remember to leave enough time for a taxi. 🧡 A trip to Enping in the autumn is all about soaking in hot springs, exploring villages, and bird-watching. There isn't much to do, but that's the beauty of it—you don't have to rush. Two days is just enough to let your worries soak away.

Prioritize legitimate, affordable public hot springs. 3. Prices at scenic area souvenir shops are high. If you want to buy snacks like Enping sesame cakes, go to the old town wet market. 4. Rural bus schedules are reduced during National Day. Check the last bus time in advance to avoid getting stranded. 5. When hiking in Qixingkeng, do not enter undeveloped trails on your own and prioritize safety. 🏷️ Tags
