Swiss small poor travel! Money-saving strategy!
1
Who says Switzerland is not fun in winter!! It's too beautiful! There are snow mountains and greenery
This time I spent about 7k RMB in total (see the last picture)
Play: Use Interlaken as a transit station, and return to a place every day. The advantage of this is that it is very flexible. Everyone knows that Swiss weather depends on luck. In this way, you only need to decide where to go according to the weather of the day
Transportation
The plane was bought more than a month in advance. Zurich to go, Geneva to return
Local transportation decisively swiss pass, very fragrant, tired can take the bus at any time, golden train to see where good can get off directly
Hotel
Living in the small town of Wilderswil, which is only 6 minutes away from Interlaken train, you can also take the bus from Interlaken ost. There is not much to eat in the town, usually buy in Interlaken. But the town has no light pollution and is very quiet, the stars are super good at night! The hotel faces the Jungfrau, and the snow mountain is just outside the window when the weather is good
Exchange money
Just find a UBS and settle in francs is the real-time exchange rate. One of my great pleasures in Switzerland is to compare the exchange rates in various places, really only UBS has no handling fee
Play
1 Day 1: Play in Zurich, stay in Interlaken on the same day. Zurich train station can store bags, there are many notes can be flipped. It was New Year's Eve that day, and the town's fireworks were quite good
2 Day 2: Interlaken round trip Zermatt (Matterhorn). The weather is super good, but my friends and I have high anti. The winter reflection there is frozen and covered by snow, and it is very dangerous to go there without professional shoes, I suggest everyone to consider life safety
3 Day 3: Interlaken - Golden Train Lucerne - Rigi. Rigi is really beautiful, although it is cloudy, it may be my favorite mountain, if conditions permit, take a cruise is great!4 Day 4: Interlaken round trip Grindelwald (First Mountain and Dream Slope), stay in Geneva at night. The paragliding and projects were cancelled due to the strong wind that day, but the scenery is really good. Remember to check the last cable car down the mountain time

Top of Europe: Snow, Sculptures, Slopes
Hop on a train to reach Jungfraujoch, the Top of Europe, without the huffing and puffing! The air thins as you head up the mountain so take note not to over exert yourself.
The ice palace with beautiful ice sculptures is fascinating to visit, especially if you are from the tropics like me! Walking in the snow is fun but watch out for slippery ice as you queue to take a pic with Swiss flag. The view is breathtaking and it is COLD! Sunnies are really helpful with the blinding snow. Something special to do would be to video call your loved ones and show them the Top of Europe ❤️
There are a couple of eateries and a variety of shops if you are looking for Swiss gifts and keepsakes. The Top of Europe pass entitles you to some discount here.
Opt for the gondolas as you head down to Grindelwald first where you can get a cuppa hot (Lindt) chocolate: it’s amazingly good! That was our ‘cherry on top’ to complete this unique adventure.
My #2023travelwish is to bring my friends on a trip to New Zealand’s South Island to explore the glaciers and look out for wild life.

Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe - is easily accessible by cable car, cogwheel trains via Grindelwald, or via Lauterbrunnen-Wengen.
It was not cheap to visit but it was all worth it. The view was scenic, and it has a viewing point in the Bernese Alps, at an altitude of 3,454 m.
Plan your trip carefully and refer to the weather forecast before you purchase your tickets.
A winter wonderland to be at!

Special place with our first snow experience
It is an wonderful experience coming up here without doing a the hiking as people in the past did. The train ride was very comfortable and we were able to see the transformation from green valey ro snow-slope and snowy mountain. The moment we reached the top, the view was absolutely amazing. The snow was so fine to touch and the sky was so blue. Recommended to bring sunglasses as it is very glaring.

Once we reached Kleine Scheidegg, we started the final part of our journey. We took the train from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch. Most of the journey will be through the tunnels inside the mountain at an altitude of 3,000 meters.

The Tallest Mountain In Europe - Jungfrau
Switzerland is one of the most breathtaking trip ever, and this of course comes with price! There is 2 popular mountains here in Switzerland, 1 is the matterhorn mountain while the other is the jungfraujoch mountain(the tallest mountain in Europe).
Jungfrau(pronounced as Yong Frau), got its popularity because of the beautiful train ride you get on from Wengen where it will gives you a scenic 360 view from the train while going up to the mountain, it also is called the top of Europe, this means the air up there is thin! Ample clothing here is definitely needed as all year round it is cold and icy but of course do not head here during winter, I've never tried because I assume if the town is freezing, I can't imagine what's up here. The best time to go here is during August - November where also the weather is dry and crisps.

Easy access to Jungfrau from Interlaken. Purchased the swiss half card which made travel in this area much cheaper. You should plan your day when you know it will not be cloudy as you won't see anything. I had sunshine.this is not the top but the surroundings

In mid-September, I revisited Valais, Switzerland. The beautiful and magnificent scenery of Valais was still pleasing to my eyes and made my heart surging.
🇨🇭Valais is the third largest state in Switzerland, bordering France and Italy. More than half of the more than 80 majestic peaks over 4,000 meters in the Alps are located in Valais. The natural scenery is beautiful and it is a charming holiday paradise in Switzerland.
✈️Take Hainan Airlines, fly directly from Shenzhen to Milan, Italy, and then take a bus for more than two hours, we arrived at the first stop of this trip to Valais, Switzerland-Aletsch Glacier Area (Aletsch Arena).
🌍The Aletsch Glacier in southern Switzerland extends from the north slope of Eiger, Monk and Jungfrau to Valais. It was 23 kilometers long and is the largest and longest glacier in Europe.
🧊The Aletsch Glacier is uniquely shaped and magnificent. The unique U-shaped arc shows the magic of nature. It looks like a white jade belt hanging between the mountains, winding and winding, vast and magnificent, and was awarded the "World Natural Heritage".
🌞However, it is a pity that with global warming, the Aletsch Glacier is quietly and irreversibly melting every moment. It is said that the length has now been reduced to 20 kilometers, which is regrettable. According to scientists' calculations, the glacier will even disappear completely by the end of this century. Friends who want to go must hurry up.
📷The Aletsch Glacier has three viewing platforms: Eggishorn, Bettmerhorn and Moosfluh. The three small towns of Fiescheralp, Bettmeralp and Riederalp all have cable cars that can go up to the viewing platform to enjoy the scenery.
🏔️The scenery of these three viewing platforms is very open and beautiful. Tourists can clearly see the location between the viewing platform and the glacier on the map. If you only enjoy the scenery, I recommend the highest Eggishorn viewing platform among the three. This angle can overlook the U-shaped glacier and the scenery of the European famous peaks such as Matterhorn, Jungfrau and Eiger.
🐑This time, we only visited the Moosfluh viewing platform and the Bettmerhorn viewing platform. The scenery was very beautiful. Especially at the Bettmerhorn viewing platform, in addition to seeing the U-shaped glacier, we also encountered the black-faced sheep, a specialty of Valais, and the interesting scene of leisurely walking on the mountain.
🏨For the Aletsch Glacier tour, we chose to stay in the small town of Bettmeralp. After coming down from the Moosfluh viewing platform that day, we chose a 2.5-kilometer mountain hike, with picturesque scenery all the way. After coming down, we stayed at the Bettmer Alpi Hotel (Hotel Alpfrieden), a Swiss mountain chalet-style hotel, which is not large but warm and comfortable. You can see the sunset and sunrise from the balcony of the guest room.

Jungfrau: Finding Romance in the Chilling Heights of Switzerland
Jungfrau in Switzerland is a gem of the Alps, renowned as a symbol of romance. Starting from Interlaken, you can take a train ride up, passing through magnificent snowy mountains and enchanting landscapes that will leave you in awe.
Once you reach Jungfrau, the spectacular glaciers and snow-covered peaks will take your breath away. Don't forget to snap a few 'chilling heights' selfies at the observation deck to prove you've been there! You can also savor the local delicious cheese, making your taste buds enjoy this alpine journey as well.
Come to Jungfrau, and get ready to find endless surprises in the snowy romance!

Top of Europe 🗺️
#myhiddengems
Visiting Jungfraujoch, the “Top of Europe,” was an absolute highlight of my trip to Switzerland! 🏔️🚞 Located high up in the Swiss Alps, reaching this stunning spot was an adventure in itself. I took the scenic train ride from Interlaken, which cost around 210 CHF, but the breathtaking views along the way made it worth every cent. As we climbed higher, the landscape transformed from lush green meadows to snow-covered peaks. Stepping out at 3,454 meters above sea level was like entering a winter wonderland! ❄️🌨️
The Ice Palace was my first stop, where I walked through tunnels carved entirely out of ice, featuring beautiful ice sculptures that shimmered under the lights. Then I made my way to the Sphinx Observatory. The panoramic views from there were absolutely mind-blowing—you could see Aletsch Glacier stretching far into the distance and the peaks of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains. 🌄🗻 It felt like being on top of the world! And don’t forget to visit the “Alpine Sensation” exhibit; it gives a fascinating insight into the history of the Jungfrau Railway and the construction of this high-altitude marvel.
Afterward, I grabbed lunch at the restaurant on-site, enjoying a hot chocolate with a view of the mountains. 🌭☕ And before heading back down, I couldn’t resist stepping out onto the snow to take some photos. It was chilly, but the fresh mountain air was invigorating. If you're looking for an unforgettable experience in Switzerland, make sure to put Jungfraujoch on your list. #trip #Jungfraujoch #TopOfEurope #SwissAlps #MountainViews #BucketListAdventure

The Top of Europe - Jungfrau
After six years, I embarked on another journey to the Swiss alpine snow peaks, this time to the Jungfrau, which stands at an altitude of 4,158 meters.
It is said that although the Jungfrau is known as the "Top of Europe," it is not the highest peak in Europe. The highest peak in Europe is Mont Blanc, located on the border between France and Italy, with an altitude exceeding 4,800 meters, earning it the title "Roof of Europe."
The Swiss have used titles like "Top of Europe" and "Queen of the Alps" to promote Jungfrau, and they have built the highest-altitude railway station in Europe (at 3,454 meters) to make Jungfrau a highly sought-after Swiss tourist destination, attracting over a million visitors annually.
Taking the mountain cable car down, you can overlook the beautiful scenery of alpine meadows and cottages from above. The final segment of the cogwheel train also stops at a viewing platform, where you can see the stunning views of blue skies, snow-capped mountains, and glaciers through large observation windows.
If you're lucky and not disturbed by wind, rain, or fog at the summit, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains surrounded by blue skies and white clouds.

Visit the top of Europe!
Snow is summer? Why not?
While a lot of places are suffering from extreme heat, opt to visit Jungfraujoch - the highest mountain peak in Europe. It is easily reachable from Zurich, Interlaken or Luzern. You can visit it as a part of the tour group or organize everything yourself. I chose to go with Best of Switzerland tours and not to worry about the tickets. We left Luzern around 9am and came back around 6 pm.
Jungfraujoch offers magical views on the snowy peaks and glacier.
There are plenty of things to do: shopping, Zipline, restaurants, ice cave. You can also enjoy a glass of prosecco or hot chocolate while sunbathing on the chair at the outside cafe.
Don't hesitate and try something different this summer!

Hiking Mannlichen--A Toad Wants to Eat Swan Meat
📍Attraction Address: Mannlichen is located south of the Kleine Scheidegg, belonging to Wengen.
🚗Attraction Transportation: Complete the hike at Kleine Scheidegg, then take the train back to Wengen. From Wengen, take the 🚠cable car to Mannlichen.
👍️Must-visit Attraction: Complete the hike on Route 47 here, hike to Mannlichen Gipfel. This viewing platform is at an altitude of 2342 meters, offering a better view of the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau peaks. Today's weather is clear and sunny. When hiking to the viewing platform, the clouds hovering over the peaks look like flying saucers circling the mountains, which is very spectacular.
It is said that if you look at the green hill below the peaks from here, it looks like a toad with its mouth wide open facing the Jungfrau. I named this scene 'A Toad Wants to Eat Swan Meat.'
🎟️Ticket Information: Free
💗Other Tips: I have been to this place once before. That time, I was in Wengen, saw the top of the mountain was fine, so I took the cable car up. As soon as I got up, the mountain was shrouded in thick fog. The good thing about buying a pass is that you can take unlimited rides, and if the weather changes, you can immediately change your plans without extra cost.

The Jungfrau Peak is stunningly beautiful on a sunny day, I'm so lucky
It rained on my first day in Switzerland🌧️, but then the next day when I went up to the Jungfrau Peak🏔️, it was clear skies. Ahhh, who can understand this feeling, I'm so fortunate😭. Moreover, right after we descended, the fog started to roll in at the summit🌫️. Thank you to the lucky goddess for her care.
Jungfraujoch, Top of Europe, is truly worth the visit~
👉🏻Take the cable car🚠 from Grindelwald Grund, remember to sit at the back of the cable car, facing the rear! I suggest sitting on the right side for a better view! As the cable car slowly ascends, you can see the dreamy slopes of Grindelwald⛰️. Then transfer to a train🚞, which goes through a tunnel with no views, but the train will stop for five minutes at a viewing platform for everyone to get off and take photos.
We went up the mountain in the morning, and first had a meal to replenish our energy, otherwise, you might feel a bit of altitude sickness. The curry chicken rice and banana cake at the restaurant on the summit🍴 were quite tasty😋.
There are many photo spots, like the Swiss🇨🇭 flag frames and such. Taking photos with the red Swiss flag in the white snow looks really beautiful~
Then on the way down the mountain, you can once again enjoy the slopes of Grindelwald from the cable car. The glass on the cable car we took down was a bit cleaner🥹, allowing us to see even more clearly, a very satisfying experience~
The most famous peak in the Alps is undoubtedly the Jungfrau, known as the 'Top of Europe' and the 'Roof of Europe,' a name familiar even to those who have never set foot in Europe. The night before, we had already arrived in Grindelwald, where we enjoyed the sunrise and sunset over the Bernese subrange, as well as the enchanting night view of Grindelwald. The town has a quaint train station that takes you to Kleine Schidegg, from where you can transfer to the Jungfrau Railway and head straight to Jungfraujoch.
The Aletsch Glacier, at 22.6 kilometers long and covering an area of 117.6 square kilometers, is shrinking every year. This millennia-old glacier has been included in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage list.

It's the Jungfrau in Switzerland, convincing one after another
In the heart of the Swiss Alps lies a secret that makes the heart race - the Jungfrau, a sanctuary for mountaineers and a dreamland for every traveler. Standing here, it feels as if you can touch the sky with your hand, and every breath is filled with freedom and purity.
Attractions not to be missed: A dreamy experience touching the clouds
• Jungfrau Railway: The journey from Kleine Scheidegg, through the sheer cliff tunnel between the Eiger and Mönch peaks, to the Jungfrau station, is an adventure that shakes the soul. The scenery along the way unfolds like a slowly spreading landscape painting, overwhelmingly beautiful.
• Sphinx Observatory: Standing at one of the highest train stations in Europe, with a 360-degree panoramic view, you can gaze at the continuous snow-capped mountains and feel the pride of 'being at the top and looking down on all the other mountains'.
• Ice Palace exploration: Delve into the glacier's interior to visit this art palace carved by nature, where every ice wall and every ice sculpture tells a story of millions of years.
Detailed address:
The Jungfrau is located in the Bernese Oberland region of the Swiss Alps, near the town of Interlaken, with its highest peak at an altitude of 4,158 meters.
Transportation tips:
• Train: Take the train from major Swiss cities such as Zurich and Geneva to Interlaken, then transfer to Kleine Scheidegg, and finally take the Jungfrau Railway to the top of the mountain.
• Self-driving: After driving to Interlaken, you can park your car in the parking lot and take public transportation up the mountain. Due to the winding mountain roads and complex winter road conditions, non-professional drivers are advised to choose self-driving cautiously.
Food recommendations:
• Edelweiss Restaurant (Restaurant Schynige Platte): Located on the mountainside, it offers authentic Swiss cheese fondue and grilled meats, with the snowy mountains outside the window, a double enjoyment of food and view.
• Summit Café: A simple yet cozy choice, a steaming cup of coffee or chocolate, paired with a piece of Swiss cake, is enough to dispel the chill at high altitudes.
Recommended attractions nearby:
• Grindelwald: Known as the 'Pearl of the Alps', the town's colorful wooden houses and the surrounding magnificent mountain scenery complement each other, making it an excellent spot for hiking and photography.
• Lauterbrunnen: A valley town with 72 waterfalls, take the cable car to the top of the Staubbach Falls and feel the awe of the cascading waterfalls.
• Interlaken: As the gateway to the Jungfrau, it is not only convenient for shopping but also a popular spot for extreme sports such as paragliding and skydiving, where excitement and beauty coexist.
Every journey to the Jungfrau is a purification of the soul. Here, time seems to slow down, allowing one to forget the hustle and bustle and immerse oneself in the embrace of nature. Remember to bring your camera to capture this eternal beauty, making the Jungfrau the most shining chapter in your travel memories.

Four Major Swiss Ski Resorts, Take You Skiing Across the Alps.
The whole country is skiing! 🛹 In Switzerland, skiing is an ancient and traditional national sport. The natural advantages of the Alps make skiing in Switzerland a top-notch experience. From the high peaks of the Alps, you can speed down with the wind whistling through the forests. "Nothing is more beautiful than sunshine, mountains, and snow." 🏔
Introducing you to these four distinctive Swiss ski resorts, let's go skiing!
1. Fairy Tale Town: Grindelwald🌄
As a classic icon of Swiss tourism, the Jungfrau has always attracted tourists from all over the world with its snowy visage and beautiful stories. Grindelwald is the gateway to the Jungfrau. 🚋
Grindelwald is built with snowy peaks at the top and lush green grass at the bottom. The Jungfrau is often veiled in the distance, making it look like a town straight out of a fairy tale. 🏕
The Grindelwald ski area has dozens of cable cars and hundreds of ski runs. The Bodmi Arena ski area has many beginner slopes that are relatively gentle and quite long, suitable for beginners to fully stretch their muscles. You can freely shuttle through the forest.
2. The Most Beautiful Powder Snow: Andermatt🛫
Andermatt is located in the central part of the Alps and is the largest and most modern ski resort in central Switzerland. 🛴
The endless snow slopes here are vast, with deep snow and wide trails. The complete chain of cogwheel trains, ski towns, diverse ski runs, and cable railways makes it an ideal paradise for advanced skiing challenges. 🛹
You can also see the most beautiful powder snow in the Alps. 🌟
3. Glacier City: Zermatt🎐
Zermatt is located among the peaks of the Alps, surrounded by 38 peaks over 4000 meters high, including the famous Matterhorn, earning it the nickname "Glacier City." 😊
This is the highest year-round ski resort in the Alps, with a vertical drop of over 2133 meters and a "snow season" that lasts 365 days a year.
With over 100 ski runs and 54 cable cars, it also has the longest downhill ski run in Europe, 25 kilometers, which can take you from the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise straight down to Zermatt. 🎿
The best way to get here is by the Glacier Express. On the train, you can traverse the high mountains and deep valleys of the Alps, enjoying breathtaking scenery along the way. 🚊
4. Glamorous and Wealthy: St. Moritz💎
St. Moritz has always been known for its high-end elegance and is one of the world's most famous and oldest ski resorts. 🚏
It hosted the Winter Olympics twice, in 1928 and 1948.
The skiing facilities here are top-notch, with 350 kilometers of extremely smooth ski runs and 59 alpine skiing facilities. 🏎
Its long history and cultural heritage also make St. Moritz the top choice for many wealthy individuals, politicians, and royalty for their annual vacations. 🎆
The unparalleled natural conditions, the early industrial revolution advantages in Europe, and the developed tourism industry make Switzerland one of the world's most worthwhile travel destinations. 🎇
In simple terms, Switzerland is the "Hermès" of ski destinations. Although not cheap, experiencing it once in a lifetime is worth it. 🎈

【Switzerland】Interlaken Jungfrau: A Dreamlike Journey to the Top of the Jungfrau in Spring.
The Jungfrau in Switzerland has been a place on my bucket list for a long time, and I finally had the chance to ascend it this spring.
The Jungfrau is essentially snow-capped all year round. Known as the 'Roof of Europe' and often shrouded in mist, it resembles a shy maiden, hence attracting numerous visitors and developing into a well-established tourist destination.
There are many ways to explore the Jungfrau, and this time we took a cable car to the terminal station and then a mountain train down the mountain. The journey offered picturesque views, with the blue sky and the white peaks creating a breathtaking scene.
The Jungfrau station not only has an observation deck but also several indoor facilities, such as ice sculptures, a corridor depicting the history of the exploration of the Jungfrau, and restaurants, among others.
Fortunately, the weather was beautiful that day, allowing us to witness the mysterious true face of the Jungfrau. Gazing at the glaciers and snow-capped peaks from the observation deck, my heart was filled with awe and admiration for nature. Although I felt a bit of headache and fatigue due to the high altitude, my spirit was cleansed by the magnificence of the place.

Ice Palace
#europetrip
Ice Palace is one of the must visit attractions when you are at Jungfraujoch. I’m from a tropical country, visiting a place sculpted from ice is very unique and special. It is a definitely an immersive experience inside a glacier. I’ll recommend you to wear something thicker as the temperature inside the Ice Palace is consistently cold. Inside the Ice Palace, there are a varieties of ice sculptures such as animal, piano and more. A visit to the Ice Palace is included with your Jungfraujoch tickets. The recommended best time to visit the Jungfraujoch will be between June and September.

The summit of Europe, the Jungfrau in Switzerland, is expensive but also truly beautiful
If there is a paradise on earth, it must be Switzerland. The beauty of Switzerland can be seen everywhere, and the Jungfrau in the Alps is world-famous.
🏔️ There are usually two ways to go up the Jungfrau:
🚞 Cogwheel train: Switzerland is a mountainous country, and the railways go up and down the mountains, making it difficult for regular trains to operate in such an environment, so cogwheel trains are generally used, especially the specially made ones for ascending the Jungfrau. The ticket price is also quite expensive, 170 Swiss francs.
🚠 Cable car: It is recommended to take the cogwheel train up the mountain and choose the cable car to return to Grindelwald when descending.
🏔️ The usual sightseeing route on the Jungfrau consists of 10 points, with point number 4 being the summit observation deck, which offers a breathtaking view and scenery. There are restaurants on the mountain, including ramen and Indian restaurants for dining.
⚠️ Precautions:
1️⃣ The altitude is high on the mountain, and the temperature is very low, so be sure to keep warm.
2️⃣ There are two stations in Grindelwald, namely grindelwald and kleine Scheidegg, do not get them confused.
3️⃣ The weather on the mountain is changeable; the scenery is absolutely beautiful on sunny days, but nothing much can be seen during rainy or snowy weather.
Tourist season:
July and August are the peak seasons for the Jungfrau, with many people and high prices.
November to April of the following year is the ski season, with many people and high prices.
May, June, September, and October are relatively off-peak, offering better value for money.
