Most Memorable Cooking Experience

@LoveChiangMai Cooking School We enjoyed a private cooking lesson hosted by Aoi at her cooking school. If you have the time and love cooking, this is simply a must do when you’re in Chiang Mai. It was very memorable. We opted for the Chiang Mai Northern Thai Lanna Cooking Experience. For the Lanna cuisine, we got to select 3 main dishes and 1 dessert. We selected Sai Aou - Chiang Mai Sausage, Koaw Soi - Chiang Mai Noodles, "Kaeng Hung Lay" - Pork belly Burmese style curry and for dessert, Kanom Wong - Chiang Mai Donut. Our experience started with Aoi greeting us at the hotel, then we went ingredient shopping at the local market (purchase of ingredients included in the tour), before heading to her cooking school and her organic garden. We learnt how to make all the dishes from scratch - even how to fill the sausage by hand! It was almost a full day experience as each cooking session took about 6-7 hours. Tranquil Escape at Chiang Mai

Located in the hill surrounded by lush and serene landscapes, Veranda High Resort by MGallery offers a serene and peaceful setting for relaxing. It is takes approximately 30 minutes from the old town and we booked a private car prior to arrival. As the resort is quite big, there is a free buggy to get around. However, we really loved the setting and walking around is a better choice. Our room fronted the paddy fields within the resort and the room itself was spacious and clean. From check in to check out, our stay was magical. Thanks to all the staff for being very friendly. Loved the turn down service and the cookies. We loved the breakfast at The Higher Room Spread was not a lot but it was what they had was delicious. The view was also spectacular. A wonderful resort in a lush, gorgeous environment. The resort is quite huge, and the architecture is unusual and interesting, making for some enjoyable treks about the grounds. The people who work here are really knowledgeable. Really friendly, courteous, and fluent in numerous languages. The food and beverage variety is excellent, with the breakfast buffet standing out. The service was always consistent, and it didn't feel any different when the workers changed shifts. The spa is beautiful. The air here is fresh and you can smell the birds and flowers every day. The resort is designed in the style of the Thai Lanna era, and it is also integrated into the modern veranda style. The whole hotel is full of design, especially the infinity pool in the middle of the mountain, which has the feeling of connecting with the sky. The density of the building at resort is very low. Most of the houses are located above the tea garden. The floor-to-ceiling glass window can be used to smell the fresh fragrance of the vegetation, and the insects can be seen at night. Chiangmai Night Safari is a place not to be missed. It has very well planned segments and staffs were around to provide assistance and guidance to shows. My elderly parents and my young children enjoyed the trip to Chiangmai Night Safari very much. Booking was made through TRIP.COM. All we had to do was to turn up and wait for the transfer to pick us from our hotel. They even offer free cancellation. Highly recommend

Green Canyon in Chiang Mai

A Solo Adventure to Ob Khan National Park Recently, I embarked on an exhilarating solo journey to Ob Khan National Park, a stunning natural retreat located just outside of Chiang Mai. Renting a motorbike for the trip was a breeze, costing me only 200 baht per 24 hours, and the ride was surprisingly easy and enjoyable. Morning Ride I highly recommend starting your adventure in the morning. The early hours offer a pleasant driving experience before the sun becomes too intense. The scenic route to the park was filled with beautiful landscapes, setting the tone for a day of exploration. Arrival and Registration Upon reaching Ob Khan National Park, the first step is to register at the entrance. This involves filling out a form with your name, nationality, passport number and the motorbike's plate number. After that registration, the path continues riding the motorbike to the parking area, there are many signs to find it. Easily with parking next step is find the registration point for tracking which is located in a small building behind a charming café by the river. Exploring the Trails After completing the registration, I set out to explore the park’s trails. The trekking paths are well-marked and offer varying levels of difficulty, making them accessible for solo hikers. The lush greenery, towering trees, and the soothing sounds of nature created a tranquil atmosphere that made the hike enjoyable. As I trekked through the park, I encountered breathtaking views and the opportunity to connect with nature. There some views point on the tracking paths. The fresh air and peaceful surroundings were a welcome escape from the city, allowing me to recharge and reflect. In some points of the river its looks like Green Canyon with beautiful rocks. But I didn’t finish the path to the Ob Khan National Park View Point because it was in the raining season and the water of river was so full. Afraid of flood from the upper river path I decided to back after enjoying mother nature. And im still curious how the water of the river looks like when it’s not during the raining season. Tips for Your Visit 1. **Go Early**: Arriving in the morning not only helps you avoid the heat but also allows you to enjoy the park in relative quietness. 2. **Registration**: Don’t forget to register at the entrance. It’s a quick process that ensures your visit is accounted for. 3. **Stay Hydrated**: Bring plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated, especially if you plan to trek for an extended period. 4. **Respect Nature**: As with any national park, it’s essential to follow the rules and respect the environment. Located just south of Chiang Mai Airport, it takes about 25 minutes by motorcycle or 30 minutes by taxi from Tha Phae Gate. Initially, it was hard to find the entrance, but once inside, the place felt quite spacious. On the right is the accommodation area, which is separated from the café, and non-guests cannot enter. On the left is the café area, which is quite large overall with beautiful scenery. It's a genuine countryside style. During the rice planting season, the fields are lush green, which is very soothing to look at. There are both outdoor and indoor areas. I chose the outdoor area, and it wasn't hot under the trees while enjoying my coffee. There are also fans outside, making it quite cool. The coffee is decent, and there are also meals available. Stayed at a dream hotel in Chiang Mai

The hotel environment is quite nice. They offer Thai massages with discounts for guests, so you can relax without leaving the hotel. Very convenient!! Ob Khan National Park 🇹🇭

#traveldiaries Not far from Chiang Mai city, Ob Khan is a place to avoid the heat. It's better to go to the mountain areas around June and July, so at the moment I'm going around the waterfalls to avoid the heat. This place is Ob Khan National Park. It is located in Hang Dong District, about 40 minutes by motorbike from Chiang Mai. If you go to Ob khan, it is more convenient to go early in the morning and go out for a picnic and come back in the evening. It's nice to take pictures because it's soaked in water, so bring extra clothes. It opens at 8:30 in the morning and closes around 4:30 in the evening. No entrance fee required.
