It turns out Beihai hides such treasures! By day, it's a fairy tale world of blue and white castles; at dusk, fishing boats return to port, dyed in honey hues; at night, fireworks explode over the sea—this guide takes you through 24 hours at the Maritime Silk Road's first port, with fewer crowds, beautiful scenery, and full healing vibes~ 🌅 Daytime: Step into a Miyazaki comic First Port Castle Beihai's version of the "Little Potala Palace"! The white castle with pointed roofs reflects in the crystal-clear lake water. The green lawn by the shore invites you to run in a light-colored long dress, the hem brushing the grass, like stepping out of a Miyazaki animation. · Hidden tip: The bougainvillea blooming at the castle wall corner is in full glory. Stand under the flower trellis and take a side-profile photo, with sunlight filtering through the petals onto your face—so gentle you'll want to freeze this moment. Sea View Terrace You must go up to the castle rooftop! The glass walkway hangs in midair, offering a panoramic view of the entire harbor: blue and white buildings, winding wooden boardwalks, and fishing boats in the distance. The 3 PM sunlight makes the sea shimmer silver—perfect for panoramic shots (if you're afraid of heights, hold the railing; it's not scary~). Departure Port Feels like stepping into the seaside version of "The Longest Day in Chang'an"! Vintage shops line the stone-paved road, occasionally actors in Hanfu walk by. Stroll through handmade craft shops in the sea breeze, and when tired, sit on the stone steps by the sea watching fishing boats sway slowly—the pace of time slows down. 🌇 Evening: Romantic hits of sunset and chorus Xihai Pavilion Cross the water boardwalk to get here, and arrive before 5 PM to secure a spot! The top floor of the pavilion offers an excellent view, watching the sunset dye the sky honey-colored. The sound of hundreds of fishing boats' engines returning to port mixed with the waves is like a natural symphony. · Must experience: Sunset chorus! Hundreds sing "Bright Moon Over the Sea" together, the voices floating over the water. The sunset just covers the sea, and wearing a light-colored long dress for silhouette photos is so beautiful you'll be flooded with questions on social media. 🌃 Night: A visual feast of water and fire "Song of Water and Fire" Night Performance From dusk to the departure of thousands of boats, seven chapters recreate the prosperous Han Dynasty Silk Road scene! Lights turn the castle golden, actors dance on the water stage, and when the sails light up, they look like stars falling into the sea, as if traveling back to the port a thousand years ago. Sea Fireworks and Iron Flower Show The grand romantic finale! Fireworks explode overhead, their glow reflected in everyone's eyes, followed by the iron flower show—1,600°C molten iron splashed into the night sky, turning into a sky full of sparks, like "Coco" brought to life, with continuous screams from the crowd (find a wide-open spot in advance, like the beach or castle steps). 💡 Practical Tips (Locals' Secret) 1. Tickets: Night tickets (entry after 6 PM) are more cost-effective, letting you see the sunset + performance + fireworks, maximizing value. 2. Transportation: Take the high-speed train to Beihai Station, then a 40-minute taxi ride, or drive yourself (parking is free). 3. Dress: Hanfu or light-colored long dresses are perfect! The sea breeze is cool at dusk, so bring a light jacket. 4. Hidden photo spot: The beach after the tide recedes! Sit on the rocks and watch the lights on the opposite shore, like stars floating on the sea—perfect for atmospheric night shots. 5. Food & Drink: Don’t miss the seafood barbecue in the park. Freshly grilled squid with cold beer, eating while waiting for fireworks, so cozy you won’t want to leave. Spending a day at the Maritime Silk Road's first port makes you understand what "romantic made tangible" means—the fairy tale feel by day, the healing vibe at dusk, and the stunning impact at night, all blended into the sea breeze. Set off next weekend and join this date with the sea and light~

Found a treasure! In Guangxi! A seriously underrated hidden gem: Dongnanpo Haohu National Wetland Park When you think of Guangxi, do you first think of Guilin's landscapes or Beihai Silver Beach? This time, I want to take you to explore a treasure that even many locals in Guangxi might not know about—Dongnanpo Haohu National Wetland Park. It’s like a piece of jade carefully polished by time but accidentally left in the mortal world, quietly resting among the mountains of Guangxi. It’s niche, pristine, yet breathtakingly beautiful. Trust me, this is definitely a hidden level on your travel checklist waiting to be unlocked! Why is it “seriously underrated”? Compared to well-known attractions, Haohu Lake is almost free of tourist noise. There are no signs of over-commercial development here, only endless wetlands, scattered islands, crystal-clear lakes, and generations of wildlife. It is a “living” ecosystem, a quiet natural manuscript waiting for those destined to interpret it. Immersive Experience Guide: Explore Water, Land, and Air in One Day Water Maze, Sailing on the Blue Waves You must take a boat! This is the only right way to unlock Haohu Lake. Rent a small boat from local fishermen and slowly row into the heart of the lake. The waterways wind like a maze, flanked by dense aquatic plants and karst hills. Sunlight filters through the clouds, turning the water into a dreamy blue-green. The swaying water plants make you feel like you’re traveling through a real-life “Emerald City.” If you’re lucky, egrets will fly close by, wild ducks will play in the distance, and time will slow down here. Climb High for a Panoramic View, Unlock the God’s Eye Perspective Abandon the boat and land ashore, then find a low viewing platform or small hill to climb. When you reach the top, gasping for breath, look back—the entire wetland panorama unfolds beneath your feet! The lake sparkles like scattered diamonds set in emerald-green wet meadows, islands scatter like green snails, and distant villages emit curling smoke. The vastness and tranquility here can wash away all fatigue and worries. At dusk, this is the perfect spot to capture sunsets and evening glow, with golden light spreading across the lake, stunningly unreal. Secret Trekking, Encounter Wetland Spirits Follow the well-built wooden boardwalk deep into the wetland’s heart. This is a paradise for observing flora and fauna. Bring binoculars, and you might see the nationally protected purple swamphen elegantly walking among the reeds, various herons dancing gracefully. In spring and early summer, the lake surface may be dotted with wildflowers. Please step lightly and speak softly to avoid disturbing this peaceful habitat. Fishermen’s Lifestyle, Lake Freshness on Your Palate Haohu Lake coexists harmoniously with local communities. If you meet friendly fishermen, don’t hesitate to chat about their lives. Some lakeside farmhouses offer the most authentic river delicacies. Freshwater tilapia boiled in clear water, stir-fried river shrimp, seasonal wild vegetables... The ingredients come from this pristine water, and the flavors are something you can never replicate in the city. Travel Tips and Sincere Suggestions Address: Within Donglan County, Hechi City, Guangxi (navigate to “Dongnanpo Haohu National Wetland Park”). Best Seasons: Suitable in spring, summer, and autumn. Spring and summer bring lush aquatic plants and vibrant life; autumn offers clear skies and colorful scenery. Accommodation: It’s recommended to stay in Donglan County town, where there are more options and better conditions. For a deeper experience, there are a few homestays nearby—please contact in advance to confirm. Important Reminders: Please protect the environment! Take all your trash with you, do not pick plants, and do not disturb wildlife. There are many mosquitoes in the wetlands, so bring insect repellent. Mobile signal may be weak in some areas; download offline maps in advance. Currently, the park’s facilities are relatively natural—come with a heart ready to explore nature, not to enjoy luxury services. Final Words Dongnanpo Haohu is not the kind of flashy beauty that makes you say “wow” immediately. It’s an immersive healing experience that requires you to calm your mind and feel it with your eyes, breath, and whole being. Here, you will rediscover the meaning of “tranquility” and “abundance.” If you’re tired of crowded popular spots and crave a trip truly close to nature to find inner peace, then this seriously underrated hidden gem in Guangxi is the next place you should visit. Don’t hesitate any longer—while it’s still little known, come quickly and “dig for treasure”!

When visiting Beihai, besides Silver Beach and Weizhou Island, there is actually a hidden gem of a town with deep cultural roots—Hepu County! 🏛️ As the only county under the administration of Beihai, it is home to a low-key but fascinating museum~ 🏺 [Museum highlights] Although the venue is not large, it is packed with treasures. ✨ The collection mainly consists of Han Dynasty artifacts. Ancient bronze pots, pottery, jewelry... each piece tells the glorious history of Hepu as a starting point of the Maritime Silk Road. 🌊 Walking into the exhibition hall, it feels like traveling back two thousand years. Those exquisite artifacts bear witness to the prosperity and openness of ancient Hepu. For those who want to deeply understand the history of Beihai, this is definitely a cultural treasure trove not to be missed. 📚 🏛️ [Visit guide] Located in Hepu County, it is about a 1-hour drive from downtown Beihai. 🚗 The architecture is typical Chinese style. On sunny days, the red walls and green tiles are very photogenic. ☀️ It also has a unique charm on rainy days, with the tranquility of history permeating through the blue bricks and gray tiles. 🌧️ 💡 [Travel tips] 🔸 It is recommended to set aside 1–2 hours for a detailed visit 🔸 It is better to take photos when the light is good during the day 🔸 You can combine it with a visit to the surrounding Han Dynasty cultural sites When coming to Beihai, why not set aside half a day for this quiet town and feel the depth and warmth of history? 💕

Before I went to Beihai, I thought it was just Silver Beach and seafood. Once I got there, I realized it's completely different. Here are some honest tips for those planning a trip. When it comes to seafood noodles, freshness is everything. For locals in Beihai, there's only one standard for a bowl of seafood noodles: it must be crystal clear and fresh. At Fengzai Pinpin Breakfast Shop next to Nanzhu Market, owner Feng Weiyi goes to the market before dawn to pick out clams and check the crabs. He always deveins the shrimp and removes the ink sacs from the squid while they're still fresh. "When you cook live seafood, the broth is clear; when you cook frozen goods, the skin falls apart and the broth gets murky." Sister Fei in Qiaogang Town has been making crab noodle soup for 20 years. She mashes small stone crabs and simmers them with pork bones and crab roe for two hours. The broth is a bright, translucent orange—you can't see the crab meat, but every bite is full of crab flavor.‌ As for seaside foraging, don't just go out and dig blindly. The mangroves are the locals' favorite spot. When the tide goes out, vast mudflats are exposed, perfect for digging for clams, catching crabs, and picking up seashells. You can rent a set of tools on-site for CNY 10, which includes a shovel, bucket, and rain boots. Check the tide table in advance; the best time to go is two hours after low tide, before 8 AM or after 4 PM to avoid the sun. Foraging in Yingpan is further away and more primitive with very few people. You can dig for sand worms and catch mantis shrimp, but you'll need to drive there yourself. Remember the old fisherman's saying: Don't go on the beach when the tide is rising, and don't get carried away when the tide is receding.‌ When it comes to seafood, don't be a sucker at tourist food stalls. Those who really know how to eat go straight to the Dianjian Pier Seafood Market. The variety is best in the early morning when the fishing boats dock—everything from flower shrimp and squid to all kinds of sea fish is available. Pick your seafood and find a nearby restaurant to cook it for you. The processing fees at Guizhou Road Market are transparent: CNY 10 per serving for boiled/steamed, and CNY 15 for garlic steamed or stir-fried with scallions and ginger. You can eat your fill for a processing fee of CNY 30 to 50 per person. Ignore the seafood touts on Qiaogang Customs Street; short-changing and last-minute price hikes are common there. You can, however, eat the snacks with confidence: Xinji Shrimp Cake fries live shrimp on the spot, the Wujia dessert at Twenty-Four Buildings is generous and affordable, and Qiaoyue Family has been making rice rolls for 40 years.‌‌ Regarding transportation, don't trust the touts at the station. The high-speed rail station is in the city center. It takes about 20 minutes by taxi to Silver Beach and about 25 minutes to Qiaogang Customs Street. Ignore all the tricycle drivers and unlicensed cabs waiting at the station; they'll likely take you to seafood restaurants that pay them kickbacks. The best way to get around the city is to rent an e-scooter. It costs about CNY 25 per day in the off-season, and riding along the coast is free and comfortable. Just remember to take photos of the entire vehicle as proof when you rent it to avoid being scammed for scratches when you return it. During peak season, Silver Beach and Qiaogang are so congested you'll question your life choices, and waiting for a taxi is exhausting.‌ When it comes to food, "chicken dung vine" isn't just for dessert soup. It's one of Beihai's most iconic medicinal and edible ingredients. The traditional way to eat it is rolled into thin strips and boiled in a sweet soup with brown sugar and ginger slices—it's fragrant, warming, and helps dispel dampness. Now, young people have come up with new twists: chicken dung vine milk tea, ice cream, and bagels. A dessert shop on Chongqing Road even replaced the ginger and brown sugar base with a yellow sugar syrup to neutralize the unique smell, making it much more acceptable to tourists from out of town.‌ A few reminders: · Paddleboarding and other water recreational activities are prohibited in all natural waters in Hepu County. Don't just rush there because you saw a viral video online; the Hepu County Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Sports and Tourism issued a notice in July 2026. If you enter the water without authorization and an accident occurs, you are responsible for the consequences.‌ · RVs entering Beihai must be parked in designated campsites according to regulations, such as the 4 locations including the Shuimuxiacun RV Camp and the Dabenniu RV Base. Setting up canopies, cooking with open flames, and dumping sewage at will are all prohibited.‌ · In the core section of the Old Street, vehicles are only allowed to exit, not enter, from 9 AM to 10 PM. During the summer, there is traffic control around Silver Beach, so try to use public transport or walk. · The UV rays at the beach are extremely strong; wear sunscreen even on cloudy days. The sea breeze is cool in the evening, so carry a light jacket. · It's most comfortable to visit in May–June or September–October. Avoid the peak season and typhoon season in July–August; prices are half as much and the experience is twice as good.‌ · Don't book low-priced one-day tours; there are too many hidden costs. Ferry tickets to Weizhou Island are in short supply during peak season, and there is a risk of being stranded if sailings are canceled due to high winds. The beauty of Beihai isn't in the photos of Silver Beach; it's in the steam rising from a bowl of crab noodle soup, the surprise of finding a small crab on the mangrove mudflats, and the fresh sweetness of seafood caught and cooked right on the fishing boats at Waisha Island. Don't just rush through your trip—go foraging. That's what Beihai taught me. 🦐

Located at No. 34 Minzu Avenue, Nanning, it is really a must-see cultural landmark on my trip to Nanning! The museum is located next to the Ethnic Square, a super beautiful location, and it is a national first-class museum, to know the history and culture of Guangxi, here is right ~ The point is that the visit can be free, just make an appointment in advance, CP value burst 😆! The design of the main building is super characteristic of the Zhuang ethnic group, the stem-style building is very tasteful, and the museum has a lot of treasures - all kinds of copper drums caught my eye. It turns out that this is one of the largest collections of copper drums in the world. I highly recommend you to see the treasure of the town hall - the bronze drum with a flying heron pattern. The drum surface has sun patterns, flying heron and dragon boat patterns. The texture is very delicate and takes you directly back to the life of the ancient Baiyue ethnic group. There is also a Western Han feather pattern copper phoenix lamp to pay attention to, the design is really clever, lamp smoke can also be introduced into the lamp belly clean water filtering, completely embodies the wisdom of the ancient Lingnan, very good 😍. The exhibition hall adopts the form of general history to tell you the past and present of Guangxi: from prehistoric stone tools, Huashan rock paintings, to Hepu Han Dynasty Maritime Silk Road artifacts, gradually displaying the Lingnan civilization. In addition to bronzes, ceramics, jade, and ethnic crafts are very eye-catching. We introduce the traditions of ethnic minorities such as Zhuang, Yao and Dong Not to be missed, there is also the outdoor ethnic cultural relics garden, the whole garden restored the Zhuang clan house, Dong storm and rain bridge, Yao clan granary and other buildings, green trees, ponds, completely a good place to take pictures, Chill burst, seconds become the protagonist of the ethnic minority village 🤳. The museum has Chinese explanations and a cultural and creative shop. After visiting the exhibition, I went to the Heritage Garden, which was really comfortable and fulfilling. If you want to take an in-depth cultural trip in Nanning, this must be included in the itinerary. Reserve half a day to slowly read and feel the charm of the Silk Road and Zhuang Township on the sea. It is definitely worth the price! 📍Address: No. 34, Minzu Avenue, Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region ⏰Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 9:00-17:00 (closed on Mondays, admission closes at 16:00) 🎟️ Booking method: Book online for free admission

Just got back from Beihai, Guangxi! Honestly, before I came, I thought beach trips meant spending a fortune. But I had a comfortable 3-day trip for very little money. It completely changed my perception of coastal cities, though I did fall into a few hidden traps. Here is my honest guide—feel free to copy my itinerary. 🚗 Transportation tips High-speed rail: Try to book your ticket to Beihai Station; it's very close to the city center. Fucheng Airport is over 30 km away. Don't trust the people aggressively soliciting passengers at the exit; taking a taxi or the airport shuttle is more reliable. Getting around the city: Renting an e-scooter is the best! It costs CNY 30–40 a day. Riding along the coast to Silver Beach, Qiaogang, and Guantouling with the sea breeze is much freer than taking a taxi. Remember to wear a helmet. If you want to go to Weizhou Island, you need to book your ferry ticket and island entry fee in advance via "Laiyouba". The round-trip cost is significant, so if you're on a budget, you can take your time exploring the city first. Parking for rental cars around Silver Beach can be tight, so I don't recommend driving the whole time. 🏨 Accommodation & budget reference Take my advice! Don't obsess over ocean-view rooms. Prioritize homestays in residential areas near Qiaogang or Silver Beach. You'll have food right downstairs and be within walking distance of the beach. You can get a clean, standard room for CNY 130–260/night. If you want more excitement, stay near Beihai Old Street; there are tons of night markets. Excluding long-distance travel, CNY 450–700 per person is plenty for a comfortable 3-day, 2-night trip. If you plan to visit Weizhou Island, the ferry ticket and island entry fee are nearly CNY 250 per person. You'll also need to budget for e-scooters and accommodation on the island, which will increase the total cost significantly. Plan ahead. 😋 Food tips: Don't just join any queue Beihai is a hidden paradise for snacks, but here's a tip to avoid traps: be careful with the food stalls at the entrance of Silver Beach! ✅ Li Yi Shrimp Cake: A classic in the Old Street. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, CNY 5 each. It's delicious when eaten hot. ✅ Vietnamese rolled rice noodles and locust tree flower jelly: Just find any small shop in Qiaogang Style Street that's crowded with locals. You can eat your fill for over CNY 10. ✅ Seafood noodles: The broth is incredibly fresh. Having a bowl for breakfast is pure happiness. ✅ Mango stir-fried ice and coconut jelly: Beach essentials, perfect for summer and autumn. If you want seafood, go to a legitimate market to pick it out, then find a restaurant to cook it for you. Ask about the cooking fee in advance and avoid restaurants that aggressively solicit customers. 📸 3-day must-do itinerary (tested and relaxed) ▪️ Day 1: Beihai Old Street → Jinhaiwan Mangrove Forest → Silver Beach 📍 Haicheng District & Yinhai District Take your time strolling through the century-old arcade street; the old architecture has a great atmosphere. In the afternoon, head to Jinhaiwan Mangrove Forest and walk along the wooden boardwalk to see the mudflats. Head to Silver Beach in the evening—the sand is truly fine and soft. Don't come at noon to avoid the sun; the beach is at its most beautiful during sunset. You can also catch the tide sculpture light show at night. ▪️ Day 2: Liuxia Village → Guantouling → Qiaogang Beach The super popular, artistic Liuxia Village has many fresh photo spots. In the afternoon, head toward Guantouling and navigate to the Guantouling Lighthouse. This is widely recognized as the best spot in Beihai for a "tangerine sea" sunset. After sunset, head straight to Qiaogang Style Street to eat and walk on the beach. It's less crowded and more comfortable than Silver Beach. ▪️ Day 3: Haisi Shogang (Optional) → Rest and return If you have time, you can visit Haisi Shogang to experience the ancient port atmosphere; it's very photogenic when the lights come on in the evening. If you don't want to rush, sleep in, have breakfast, and head back at a leisurely pace. You don't have to force yourself to visit every spot. 💡 Honest tips ▪️ The UV rays at the beach are very strong, so wear sunscreen even on cloudy days. Be sure to wear non-slip, comfortable sandals or sneakers. ▪️ The seawater is a bit cool in October, so check the temperature before going in—don't force it. If you go beachcombing, check the tide table in advance and don't go deep into the reefs. ▪️ Weizhou Island ferry tickets are heavily affected by the weather. Sailings may be suspended on windy days, so keep an eye on notifications before you travel. ▪️ Don't just follow people on the street offering "low-price boat trips" or "free tour guides." Remember to compare prices when buying seafood. ▪️ The sea breeze can be a bit chilly in the morning and evening, so it's safer to carry a light jacket. I used to think a beach vacation meant an expensive package, but Beihai broke my preconceived notions. It's not over-packaged; it has affordable snacks, free beaches, gentle sunsets, and surprisingly friendly prices. If you're looking for a short-trip destination where you can relax and enjoy the sea without spending a fortune, Beihai is definitely worth adding to your list.

Just returned from Beihai, and here's the truth! In September–October, you might encounter rain showers and the occasional typhoon "blind box." The UV rays are still intense, but the sea breeze, sunsets, and fresh, sweet seafood are just too tempting—once you've been, it's hard to forget✨. I've put together a guide with real tips to help you avoid common pitfalls, so feel free to copy this itinerary if you're planning a trip. 🚄 Transportation Tips Take the high-speed train directly to Beihai Station; it's right in the city center. Definitely avoid booking tickets to Hepu Station, as it's far from the main tourist areas. If flying, you'll land at Fucheng Airport, which is about a 30-minute taxi ride to the city. For getting around the city, I highly recommend renting a scooter for 30–50 per day—it makes zipping between the Old Street, Qiaogang, and Silver Beach easy, and parking is a breeze. If you want to visit Weizhou Island, head to the International Passenger Port to catch a ferry. Be sure to book your ferry tickets online in advance, as service can be suspended during high winds. If you get seasick, make sure to pack motion sickness medication. 🏨 Accommodation Reference For first-timers, two areas are best: Stay around Qiaogang, where you're steps away from the beach and food streets, and the night market atmosphere is vibrant (homestays range from 180–300). If you prefer a quieter spot to watch the sunset, choose areas near Guantouling or Liuxia Village, where sea-view homestays offer great vibes (prices range from 220–350). If you're on a budget, stay at a chain hotel near Beihai Old Street (140–220); it's convenient for eating and exploring, though not right on the beach. September–October is the tail end of peak season, so I recommend booking your room at least a week in advance. 💰 Budget Reference For a 3-day, 2-night trip, expect to spend about 700–1,100 per person. Silver Beach and Old Street are free, while the main expenses are the ferry tickets to Weizhou Island and island admission fees. You can grab a meal of snacks for just a few dozen, and for seafood, order as you like—just avoid the high-priced stalls in tourist areas. Overall, it's not too expensive, so it's definitely doable for students. 🍜 Food Recommendations Coming to Beihai means going all out on seafood and Nanyang-style snacks😋 ✅ Shrimp cakes: Crispy on the outside and fresh on the inside; get them freshly fried at old street-side shops for a taste of the ocean. ✅ Vietnamese rice rolls: Thin, soft rice wrappers stuffed with fillings—a must-try specialty in Qiaogang. ✅ Various sweet soups: Taro sago or Qingbuliang (refreshing herbal dessert)—perfect for cooling down on a muggy day. ✅ Seafood stalls: For mantis shrimp and flower crabs, prioritize shops frequented by locals for freshness and better value. ✅ Pork trotter noodles: A local classic; the broth is rich and flavorful, making it a perfect breakfast. 📸 Must-Visit Spots ▫️ Silver Beach📍 Silver Beach Area: Known as the "No. 1 Beach," it features fine, white quartz sand and is free! Visit after 5:00 PM to avoid the harsh sun and wait for the "orange sea" sunset—the experience is twice as good. ▫️ Beihai Old Street📍 Haicheng District: A century-old arcade street with retro Nanyang-style architecture. It's great for a slow stroll, taking photos, and snacking as you walk. ▫️ Qiaogang Fengqing Street📍 Qiaogang Town: Most lively after dusk, with a nice harbor breeze and a bustling night market atmosphere. ▫️ Guantouling📍 Guantouling National Forest Park: Features reefs and a lighthouse, making it an excellent spot for sunsets. It's less crowded than Silver Beach and perfect for atmospheric photos. ▫️ Weizhou Island Crocodile Mountain Volcanic Park: Volcanic lava coast with crystal-clear water. If you have enough time, definitely head to the island to experience the coastal scenery. 💡 Travel Tips 1. The UV rays are still very strong in September–October, so be sure to pack high-SPF sunscreen and a sun hat; it's easy to get sunburned at the beach without realizing it. 2. Check the weather forecast frequently before your trip and keep an eye on typhoon warnings. Ferry service to Weizhou Island may be suspended during high winds, so be prepared to adjust your plans flexibly. 3. When buying seafood, compare prices and don't trust street touts. It's best to pick your own and have it cooked. 4. There's a temperature difference between day and night at the beach, so bring a light jacket for sunset. Keep a foldable umbrella handy for sudden rain showers. 5. If you plan on going clamming, remember to check the tide table; you'll only have luck during low tide. Although you might occasionally run into cloudy or windy weather, when the sunset paints the sea orange and you're enjoying a big meal of seafood in the salty breeze, all the little hassles just melt away. If you're longing for a relaxed, slow-paced coastal life, avoid the typhoon days and come to Beihai in September–October—you're guaranteed to leave feeling completely refreshed!

🪐Honestly, Yulin is more than just Luosifen and Shizi Street! After visiting these two spots, no one will dare say "Guangxi has nothing to see" when you post them on social media 😂 📍Yuntian Palace Address: Jiangbin Road, Yuzhou District, Yulin (by the Nanliu River) Route: City center > Jiangbin Road > Yuntian Palace Square > Main Hall (jade/wood carvings/Buddha statues) > Back garden to see the Taiwan-style architecture complex > Enjoy the breeze by the river before leaving Walking in feels like stumbling into a cyber-temple 👀 With golden roofs, dragon pillars, giant jade Buddhas, and walls covered in wood carvings, it’s got a tacky-cool vibe. Wear black and your photos will look like a fantasy movie 🐉 💡Tip: Don't just take photos of the main gate; the back garden corridor and the river-view platform are the best spots for great shots 📸 📍Farmer's Art Building (The "Weird Building") Address: Fumian District, Yulin (search "Farmer's Art Building" or "Fumian Weird Building" on maps) Route: Yuntian Palace > Taxi/bus to Fumian > Old building at the village entrance > Spiral staircase > Roof to see tile carvings/porcelain mosaics > Back courtyard to see the mythology wall built by the local farmer himself This building was built by a local farmer using broken porcelain, old bricks, and steel bars: Nezha, the Dragon King, Guanyin, and a tractor are all welded together. It’s so kitschy it’s actually genius 🤯 ❌Don't call it "ugly." This is the product of an imagination untouched by designers. You'll leave wondering, "How did he even come up with this?" 🧠 🍵Local Yulin itinerary: ☀️Morning: Yuntian Palace (cool, fewer crowds, slanted light) > 🍜Lunch: Back to the city center for beef jerky or fresh ingredient porridge > 🌆Afternoon: The "Weird Building" (don't wait until dark, there are no lights in the village) > 🌙Evening: Finish up with a lemon tea at Shizi Street 🍹 💫Perfect for: Solo travelers looking to zone out, photographers hunting for quirky backgrounds, or taking parents to see some folk-art imagination 🚫Not for: Those seeking refined, Instagrammable spots or people who dislike "kitsch"—these two places are so unrefined they're addictive 🌾

🌊Beihai Mid-Autumn Festival ultimate travel guide | The moon falls into Silver Beach, even snail rice noodles become romantic Beihai, historically known as Hepu, was one of the earliest starting ports of the "Maritime Silk Road" in the Han Dynasty⚓. Pearls (South Sea pearls) were shipped from here to Chang'an and Luoyang. The arcades of the Old Street still hold French plane trees, the Vietnamese flavor of Qiaogang, and Danjia salt-water songs. With the typhoon season ending before and after the Mid-Autumn Festival, the heat subsides, the seawater is at its bluest, and when the moon rises, Silver Beach looks like it's been sprinkled with crushed silver🌕. Just rolled back from Beihai with coral sand still stuck between my toes, here's the inside scoop👇 ✈️ Transportation (don't fight with the alleys in Qiaogang) ✈️ Fucheng Airport: About 30 km from the city center. A taxi to Silver Beach costs CNY 50–70; the bus is cheaper but slower. 🚄 High-speed rail: Beihai Station is in the city center. It takes about 1.5 hours from Nanning East, with a second-class seat costing CNY 61; you'll need a transfer if coming from Guangzhou. A taxi from the station to Silver Beach/Qiaogang costs CNY 20–35. 🛵 Within the city: No subway! Shared electric scooters are the best way to get between Silver Beach, Qiaogang, and the Old Street (CNY 15–25/day). Taxis start at CNY 7, but on Mid-Autumn night, the lines can stretch to the moon. Don't rent unlicensed tricycles that promise to "take you to see the sea"—the detours are fiercer than the sea breeze🚫. 🏖️ Silver Beach 📍 Location: Silver Beach Avenue, Yinhai District 🎫 Admission: Free! Beach chairs/sunshades are extra (CNY 30–50), jet skis/sailboats are purchased separately; booking a "hotel+beachcombing" package on Trip.com is more reliable ⏰ Recommended time: After 5:00 PM, the sand isn't too hot to walk on. At 7:30 PM, the full Mid-Autumn moon rises from the sea—it's more intoxicating than any light show 💡 Tested tips: Don't just crowd the "main entrance of Silver Beach." Head toward "Silver Beach West/Guantouling Xiwan" for fewer people and finer sand. Check the tide table for beachcombing around the Mid-Autumn spring tide; sand crabs, clams, and sea snails are most abundant. Don't step on reefs barefoot; oyster shells are sharper than nail clippers🪪. For photos, wear a light-colored long dress and shoot against the light. Don't stand directly behind the lifeboats (the red buckets blocking your face look super awkward) 👗 Clothing guide: In September, Beihai is 26–32℃, and the UV rays at the beach are intense. Wear a camisole + sun-protective clothing + sandals. Bring a thin cardigan for the evening; the sea breeze will make you shiver even in a short-sleeved shirt 🏘️ Beihai Old Street (Zhuhai Road) 📍 Location: Zhuhai West Road, Haicheng District 🎫 Admission: Free ⏰ Recommended time: After 6:00 PM, the arcades light up. On Mid-Autumn night, the lanterns make it feel like the Republic of China era 💡 Tested tips: Don't just take photos of the "widest section." Head to the west section: shrimp cakes CNY 5, rolled rice noodles CNY 8, locust flower powder CNY 3. The one with the line at Li Yi Shrimp Cake is the authentic one🥢. Listening to Danjia salt-water songs while catching the breeze under the arcades is more romantic than any trendy milk tea shop. Don't buy "South Sea pearls for 9.9 a string" at the street entrance; real seawater pearls aren't that cheap 👗 Clothing guide: Stone roads + cooking fumes = canvas shoes/crocs are the champions. Don't wear white shoes (shrimp cake oil will say hello) 🇻🇳 Qiaogang Style Street 📍 Location: Qiaogang Town, Yinhai District 🎫 Admission: Free, but you'll pay with your appetite ⏰ Recommended time: After 7:00 PM, when Vietnamese rolled rice noodles, crab meat noodles, and coconut snowballs all come out 💡 Tested tips: Qiaogang is the hometown of returned overseas Vietnamese, and the flavors are ten times more authentic than any "Vietnamese restaurant." Crab meat noodles are CNY 15–20, "Qu Tou Dan" (duck embryo eggs) are for the brave, and coconut sticky rice cakes are CNY 3 each. On Mid-Autumn night, people release sky lanterns on the beach (watch out for no-fly zones!). Qiaogang Beach is less crowded than Silver Beach, and the moon feels closer🌕. Don't wait in line for the "viral stir-fried snails" on the main road; turn into the alleys for the grandma's stalls—a bag of sea snails is CNY 10 👗 Clothing guide: Eat standing up at the night market, so flip-flops are the way to go. Don't wear strappy sandals (snail shells getting stuck in the straps is super annoying) 🌅 Guantouling 📍 Location: West end of Yinhai District 🎫 Admission: Free; Pudu Temple and the sea-eroded reef beach are CNY 0 ⏰ Recommended time: Arrive before 5:00 PM for the sunset + Mid-Autumn moonrise combo. Sit on the reefs until dark 💡 Tested tips: Don't just go to the "Guantouling Park" archway. Walk down to see the sea-eroded pillars, lighthouse, and fishing boats returning to port—that's the real Beihai. It's windy and the waves are wild, so don't climb over the guardrails to take photos (rescue is further away than you think). The vegetarian noodles at Pudu Temple are CNY 12, and the master's cooking is more sincere than the scenic spot's fast food 👗 Clothing guide: It's 3–5℃ cooler on the ridge than at Silver Beach. Keep a thin jacket on; don't just wear a camisole and end up shivering like a salted fish 🥮 Mid-Autumn limited eats Beihai has more than just mooncakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival: Sipunculus nudus (peanut worm) porridge (for the brave, it's incredibly fresh), shrimp cakes, sea duck eggs, coconut cakes, and Qiaogang ice-dregs tofu pudding. Buy "Hepu big mooncakes" at the Nanzhu Market; a box of egg yolk lotus paste/five-nut char siu is CNY 30–60. Don't buy the fancy gift-boxed versions at scenic spots. Coconut water is CNY 5–8 each; don't drink the pre-mixed coconut milk (it's a sugar trap) 👗 September/Mid-Autumn clothing summary Beihai is 25–32℃ during the Mid-Autumn Festival, hot by day and humid by night, with beach showers like an alarm clock🌦️. Formula: Short sleeves/camisole + sun-protective clothing + thin long pants/knee-length skirt + sandals/crocs. In your bag: sun/rain umbrella + mosquito repellent + SPF 50+ sunscreen + hair tie. Don't wear new white shoes to Qiaogang; the shrimp cake oil + sea sand combo is impossible to wash out 💰 How much for three days? Admission is almost CNY 0 (boats/jet skis are extra, about CNY 80). Food: Shrimp cake CNY 5, crab meat noodles CNY 18, peanut worm porridge CNY 25, sea duck egg CNY 2/each. Accommodation: Silver Beach homestays CNY 220–500/night, chain hotels in the old town CNY 160–300. Excluding long-distance travel, you can have a very relaxed trip for CNY 700–1,100 for three days 🌟 Personal thoughts: The best part of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Beihai is that "the moon is incredibly close to the sea." That night at Guantouling, the lights weren't on. A silver line first lit up the sea surface, then the full moon nudged its way out. The guy next to me holding a coconut sticky rice cake froze and said, "This is more real than a phone wallpaper." The salt-water songs in the Old Street mixed with the aroma of shrimp cakes, and the grandma in Qiaogang handed me a sea snail and said, "Girl, eat this with the moon." Suddenly, I felt that reunion doesn't necessarily mean a round table—stepping on sand, munching on cakes, and listening to the waves works too. I'll be blunt about the downsides: hotel prices at Silver Beach jump during the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the Qiaogang night market gets packed like sardines. Don't look for a room on the day of; lock in your booking on Trip.com in advance so you don't end up crying. If you experts have better suggestions, see you in the comments section👇. For example, which place in Qiaogang has the best crab meat noodles, which reef in Guantouling doesn't have backlighting, or what other niche moon-viewing spots are there in Beihai? Please, I'm begging for additions~ If you have any questions, just ask, I'll tell you everything!✨ Beihai travel Mid-Autumn guide Beach Style Street Old Street sunset moon viewing

Less crowded than Silver Beach, and the sand is clean. 🍧 Food & Drink: 24 Buildings Dessert Shop (CNY 12/bowl), stir-fried ice (CNY 15), Qiaogang seafood porridge (CNY 20), and pan-fried squid (CNY 20). Pack your bags in the afternoon and arrange your return trip based on your train or flight schedule. 🦞 Must-try food & drink list 1. Auntie Li's Shrimp Cake: A classic on Old Street, CNY 10. Crispy on the outside and fresh on the inside, a must-try local snack. 2. Qiaogang dessert: Longan and lotus seed, or pagoda flower dessert, average price CNY 12. Refreshing and not too sweet. 3. Seafood: Mantis shrimp, flower crab, and scallops. Try to buy them at the market yourself and then find a shop to process them. 4. Vietnamese flavors: Vietnamese rice rolls and chicken rice noodles, CNY 8–18. Authentic border flavors of Beihai. 🏨 Accommodation recommendations ▪️ For sea views and sunrise: Homestays around Silver Beach, CNY 220–400, within walking distance to the beach. ▪️ For convenient dining and travel: Hotels near Old Street or Qiaogang, CNY 160–300, with many restaurants nearby. ▪️ Staying on Weizhou Island: Prioritize homestays on Nanwan Street, CNY 260–500. Convenient for getting around the island and a great spot for watching the sunset. ⚠️ Tips to avoid tourist traps 1. Weizhou Island ferry tickets must be booked online 3–5 days in advance. They sell out easily during peak season, and sailings may be canceled during rough weather. Check for notifications before you travel. 2. Do not trust solicitors at the pier. Avoid low-priced "one-day island tours," as they often force you to shop at specific seafood restaurants. 3. When eating seafood, don't order directly at food stalls. It's better to buy it yourself at Nanwan Market and ask about the processing price clearly to avoid overcharging at checkout. 4. The UV rays at the beach are still strong. You must wear sunscreen even in autumn. Wear a helmet when riding an electric scooter around the island, as traffic police will check. 5. Check the official announcement for Haishi Shogang performance times. Try to buy tickets for the evening show, as the night live performance is the highlight. 6. Check the tide table before going beachcombing. Do not go blindly; the reefs are slippery, so watch your safety. 💡 Travel tips The attractions in Beihai are far apart. You can take ride-hailing services in the city, which are cost-effective. On Weizhou Island, you can only travel by electric scooter; cars are not allowed on the island. There is a sea breeze day and night, so carry a light jacket with you.

I headed to Beihai with dreams of an ancient Maritime Silk Road port 🌿, expecting gentle blue seas and the charm of Southern Pearls. I didn't expect the weather in September–October to be such a gamble. Sudden downpours, murky coastal waters, and typhoon warnings can disrupt travel plans at any moment. While the city's heritage is moving—the starting port of the Maritime Silk Road, Tanka fishing songs, and Nanyang-style arcades are full of charm—this season isn't ideal for a trip specifically to see the sea. I've put together this practical guide if you're determined to come anyway. 1. Transportation 🚗🛵 For arrival, it's best to take the high-speed train to Beihai Station; it's about a 15-minute taxi ride to the Old Town. For getting around the city, I highly recommend renting a small e-scooter 🛵 for 35–40 yuan a day—it's very freeing for navigating the streets. I don't recommend forcing a trip to Weizhou Island in September–October; there's a high risk of ferry cancellations due to strong wind warnings, which could leave you stranded and disrupt your subsequent plans. For long-distance taxi rides, ask for the total price in advance to avoid detours or price hikes. 2. Recommended hidden gems 🌿🏛️ ① Impression 1876 Historical and Cultural Scenic Area | Recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Open all day for free. This complex of former consulate and trading house buildings is an open-air museum without walls. Wander between the brick and stone buildings to savor the history of Beihai's century of trade. Hidden gem tip: Bring a notebook to stamp at each site's plaque; it's quiet and perfect for a leisurely stroll. Personal take: Rich cultural atmosphere, and it helps you avoid the harsh sun at the beach. ② Waisha Island Trestle Bridge | Recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Free all day. A hidden fishing port spot loved by locals 🌊, free from large tour groups. Fishing boats are moored along the shore. Hidden gem tip: Come in the evening to feel the sea breeze, watch the fishing boats return, and quietly wait for the orange sunset. Personal take: No noisy hawking, perfect for zoning out. ③ Mudflats under Gaode Bridge | Recommended ⭐⭐⭐ Free and open all day. A mudflat spot very few tourists know about. Hidden gem tip: Walk on the mudflats at low tide and look out at the bridge spanning the sea. Personal take: Don't go into the water; the mudflats are muddy. Only suitable for photos and walking. ④ Fengjiajiang Wetland Park | Recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Free admission. A secret mangrove wetland 🌱. Hidden gem tip: Walk slowly along the wooden boardwalk and look for egrets skimming the water. Personal take: Lush and green, a great escape from the city bustle. 3. Accommodation 🏠✨ Choose a homestay near Zhongshan Road in the Old Town, priced at 140–220 yuan per night. Highlights: Within walking distance of the Nanyang Old Street, with many local markets and shops nearby, offering a strong sense of local life. It's far from the main Silver Beach area, helping you avoid noisy tourists. Avoid rooms facing main roads, as e-scooters can be a bit noisy at night. 4. Food recommendations 🍜🦐 1. Pork trotter rice noodles: 12–16 yuan per bowl; the braised pork trotter is soft and tender, and the rice noodles are smooth—an authentic Hakka flavor. 2. Huaihua (Sophora flower) jelly: 8 yuan; sweet, refreshing, and a great dessert to beat the heat. 3. Shrimp cake: 6–10 yuan; freshly fried and crispy from street stalls. Tip: Don't buy seafood casually at the entrance of scenic spots, as prices are often inflated. 5. Photo spots 📸🌇 1. Impression 1876 old trading house exterior wall: Light gray vintage brick wall; wear a plain-colored dress for great photos in the soft light at 4 PM. 2. Waisha Island fishing port pier: Use the rows of fishing boats as a background to capture sunset silhouettes. 3. Fengjiajiang wooden boardwalk: Wear light-colored clothing with the mangroves in the background for a cool, natural vibe. Pro tip: The UV rays at the beach are extremely strong; avoid shooting at noon. 6. Travel tips ⚠️☀️ 1. UV rays are still intense in September–October; SPF50+ sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are must-haves. Short, heavy rain showers are common at the beach, so carry a folding umbrella. 2. If you want to go to Weizhou Island, check the weather forecast repeatedly three days before your trip and reserve at least one day as a buffer. 3. Ignore roadside touts selling seafood; it's easy to get overcharged. 4. Be careful of mud when walking on mudflats; don't venture into the sea rashly. 7. Itinerary 🗺️ Day 1: Impression 1876 > Stroll around the Old Town and eat snacks > Watch the sunset at Waisha Island in the evening Day 2: Fengjiajiang Wetland Park > Gaode Bridge mudflats > Return to the Old Town for sweet soup Day 3: Leisurely browse the local market to buy specialties, rest, and head home Personal thoughts & summary 💬 Beihai's cultural heritage is worth savoring, but the changeable weather in September–October can easily ruin your expectations of seeing the sea. If you just want to experience the local life of the Old Town, it's fine, but if you're specifically coming for the blue sea and sandy beaches, I suggest coming in another season. I recommend saving this post and coming back to explore Beihai slowly when the season is right.

Stop visiting Weizhou Island or Detian Waterfall separately in Guangxi! This 6-day mountain and sea route covers both in one go, with all the tips to avoid tourist traps. Just back from Guangxi, I've put together a 6-day Beihai + Chongzuo mountain and sea itinerary. Excluding travel time to and from the destination, you can start exploring each morning. The pace is comfortable, not a "special forces" style trip, allowing you to experience both mountains, water, and the sea in one go. ✅ Best time to travel: March–April, September–October. The weather is comfortable in March–April, and if you're lucky, you might spot Bryde's whales. In September–October, the Detian Waterfall has abundant water, and it's the start of the fishing season in Beihai, so the seafood is delicious. Try to avoid July–August, as there are many typhoons and the crowds are overwhelming. D1 | Weizhou Island (stay on the island) 🚗 Transport: Take a ferry from Beihai International Passenger Port to the island; the fast ferry takes about 80 minutes. Rent a small e-scooter on the island; it takes 5–10 minutes to ride between attractions. Take the early ferry to the island in the morning. Renting a small e-scooter to circle the island is the only comfortable way to get around. ✅ Must-visit: Crocodile Mountain Volcanic Park (black volcanic rocks, sea-eroded boardwalks—the heart of Weizhou Island), Dishuidanping, and Nanwan Fishing Port. In the evening, head to Shiluokou Beach to catch the "orange sea" sunset. 🍤 Food: Choose your own seafood at Nanwan Market and have a shop cook it for you. Try the local rock oysters. In the evening, have a bowl of coconut milk Qingbuliang (a refreshing dessert) to cool down. D2 | Weizhou Island → Beihai City 🚗 Transport: Take the ferry back to the Beihai pier; the trip takes 80 minutes. It takes about 20 minutes by taxi from the pier to Silver Beach, and about 15 minutes from Silver Beach to Qiaogang. Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the volcanic rocks at Wucaitan, then take the ferry back to Beihai. ✅ Must-visit: Walk on the soft white sand at Silver Beach. In the evening, enter the Haishi Shougang park to wait for the stunning sunset. At night, check out the live performances, molten iron flower shows, and fireworks over the sea—the night view is truly spectacular. 🍤 Food: Qiaogang Fengqing Street! I recommend the Vietnamese rice rolls, crab noodle soup, and 24 Dong desserts. If you want seafood, you can go to Yuexiang Xiaochu; you can't go wrong with the salt and pepper mantis shrimp. D3 | Transfer from Beihai to Chongzuo 🚗 Transport: It takes about 20 minutes by taxi from Beihai Old Street to the pier. Drive or hire a car to Chongzuo; the trip takes about 3.5 hours. Spend the morning strolling through Beihai Old Street, where the century-old arcade buildings are full of atmosphere. Try the Li Yi shrimp cakes—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside when fresh out of the fryer. Depart for Chongzuo at noon and rest in the evening to recharge for the Detian Waterfall. D4 | Detian Transnational Waterfall (stay in Shuolong Town) 🚗 Transport: It takes about 2 hours to drive from downtown Chongzuo to Detian. It's 20 minutes from Shuolong Town to the waterfall, and you need to transfer to a sightseeing bus inside the scenic area. Be sure to enter the park early to avoid the peak crowds of tour groups. ✅ Must-visit: Take a bamboo raft to experience the waterfall mist up close; it's easy to see a rainbow on a sunny day. Visit Boundary Marker No. 53 and the China-Vietnam Street to experience standing in two countries at once. Stay in Shuolong Town after your visit to save yourself the long commute back and forth. 🍤 Food: Border-style Vietnamese chicken noodle soup and local "suanye" (pickled fruits/vegetables)—sour, spicy, and appetizing. D5 | White-headed Langur Ecological Tourism Area 🚗 Transport: It takes about 1.5 hours to drive from Shuolong Town to the White-headed Langur scenic area. You need to take a sightseeing bus into the mountains inside the scenic area. Spend the whole day visiting the White-headed Langur, a national treasure unique to Chongzuo. ✅ Must-visit: Hike along the forest boardwalk and quietly observe the monkeys on the cliffs. ⚠️ Keep quiet and do not feed the monkeys. Return to your accommodation in the evening. 🍤 Food: Try the authentic lemon duck; it's sour, spicy, and flavorful. D6 | Mingshi Scenic Area, end of the trip 🚗 Transport: It takes about 1 hour to drive from the White-headed Langur scenic area to Mingshi Scenic Area. You can take a bamboo raft or cycle within the park; it takes 10 minutes between attractions. Spend the morning exploring Mingshi Scenic Area, the filming location for "The Journey of Flower," and enjoy the ink-wash painting-like karst pastoral scenery. ✅ Must-visit: Go bamboo rafting or rent a bicycle to ride along the rice paddies and visit the popular "fish scale dam." Finish all activities by noon. 🍤 Food: Zhuang-style five-colored sticky rice and grilled fish in banana leaves—very fragrant. ⚠️ Simplified version of tested tips to avoid traps 1. Only buy Weizhou Island ferry tickets on the official "Laiyouba" mini-program; don't trust scalpers who charge extra. Strong winds can cause temporary cancellations, so leave some flexibility in your itinerary. Record a video when you pick up your rented e-scooter to prevent being charged for false damages when returning it. 2. Be cautious about eating at the food stalls outside Silver Beach, as they often shortchange you on weight. Roadside offers for "free" clam digging are all traps; they will charge you for transport later. Prioritize buying seafood at Qiaogang Market, and remember to drain the water before weighing. 3. Go to Detian Waterfall early. Tour groups crowd the place at noon, and the wait for bamboo rafts is long. Vietnamese specialties at the entrance of the scenic area are overpriced, so be careful when buying. Remember to bring a waterproof phone pouch for the bamboo raft. 4. Attractions in Chongzuo are far apart, so prioritize hiring a car or driving yourself; public transport is not recommended. Be cautious about farmhouses recommended by roadside drivers, and most low-priced one-day tours are shopping tours. 5. 🐒 [Important reminder] The White-headed Langur is a national first-class protected animal, as rare as the giant panda. Feeding, touching, or teasing them is strictly prohibited. Keep a distance and observe quietly; disturbing protected animals is illegal. All wild monkeys in the mountains of Guangxi are wild, regardless of the species—do not touch them. 6. The UV rays in Guangxi are very strong, so bring full sun protection gear for the coast and mountains. There are many rain showers in the mountains and by the sea, so carry an umbrella. There are many mosquitoes in the mountains, so be sure to bring mosquito repellent. Travel Summary This route covers both volcanic islands and the border transnational waterfall, featuring both the sea and karst landscapes. The 6-day pace is moderate, without rushing or excessive walking every day, making it very suitable for friends or family trips. 💡 General transport advice: Taxis are convenient in downtown Beihai; renting a small e-scooter is a must on Weizhou Island; attractions in Chongzuo are scattered, so hiring a car or driving is best. Public transport takes too long and is not recommended.

🌅 Don't just visit Silver Beach in Beihai! Once evening hits, Haishi Shougang feels like you've stumbled into the Maritime Silk Road from a thousand years ago. ✨ It's not your typical "tourist trap." It's a mix of Han and Tang dynasty ports + illuminated sails + coastal boardwalks. When the lights come on at dusk and the sea breeze blows, you won't even want to pick up your phone—you'll just want to zone out. 🛶 📍 Address: Lianzhou Bay, Hepu County, Beihai City, Guangxi (Haishi Shougang Scenic Area; search "Haishi Shougang" directly in your navigation app) 🗺️ Route (The "no-fatigue" version): Beihai City/hepu Station > Haishi Shougang Entrance > Han Port Market > Pier Sailing Area > Coastal Boardwalk > First Port Lighthouse > Watch the "Port Opening Performance/lantern Parade" at dusk > Enjoy the sea breeze before leaving 📸 Must-visit spots: ▪️ Han Port Market: Best paired with Hanfu or simple, solid-colored dresses. With stall flags, pottery jars, and the scent of sea salt, it feels like traveling back to a port trading in pearls. 🏮 ▪️ Pier Sailing Area: During the blue hour at dusk, the silhouettes of the masts and the reflections on the water make for wallpaper-worthy photos straight from your phone. ⛵ ▪️ Coastal Boardwalk: With salty sea breezes on one side and reeds on the other, it's peaceful even if you're walking alone—perfect for putting WeChat on "Do Not Disturb." 📴 ▪️ First Port Lighthouse: Once lit, it looks like a guiding star on the sea. Great for photos whether you're a couple or traveling solo. 🌟 ▪️ Port Opening Immersive Performance: Not your typical big stage show. Actors move through the alleys, on boats, and at the market entrances, making you feel like you've "stumbled into" a Silk Road port. 🎭 🍵 Pro tips for your visit: ✅ Don't go at noon; it's hot and empty. Enter after 4:00 PM to catch the blue hour + lights—it's worth it. 🌆 ✅ Bring a light windbreaker; it gets chilly by the sea once the evening breeze picks up. 🧥 ✅ Don't just take photos at the entrance. Head deeper into the pier area. The moments where local women sell seashells and children chasing lanterns are where the real soul of the place is. 🐚 ✅ Don't try to do every single activity in the scenic area. A slow two-hour stroll is better than running yourself ragged just to get nine photos. Haishi Shougang isn't just a "stop by while you're in Beihai" kind of place; it's a spot that adds a thousand-year-old filter to your seaside trip. 🌾 Don't just walk on the sand when you come to Beihai; save half an evening for the First Port, and let your heart drift away. 🫧

Beihai is on the southern tip of Guangxi, right by the Beibu Gulf, with Silver Beach, Old Street, Qiaogang, and Weizhou Island all packed together. September isn't peak season, but the heat has just started to cool down, the seaside sunsets are still reliable, and locals have been talking about the Silver Beach night lights and the resurgence of late-night snacks in Qiaogang—you won't have to fight crowds for photos. 🎯 Must-visit spots Beihai Silver Beach: Open all day, free admission. Sightseeing bus is 9 yuan one-way, towable surfboards are 280 yuan, and sand bottle art starts at 98 yuan. The "lazy traveler's trio" is the way to go: walk on the fine white sand in the morning, ride the bus around the beach in the afternoon, and wait for the "orange sea" sunset at the Tide Sculpture area in the evening. Don't bother renting expensive boards; walking is better for photos. Beihai Old Street (Zhuhai Road): Free all day. Taking photos of the arcade buildings is free, though some small shops charge for pearls/coffee. Stroll slowly through the two-story historic arcades, grab a shrimp cake to eat while you walk, and soak in the atmosphere of the old port's financial district. Qiaogang Cultural Street: Free. No general admission, though some Vietnamese roll sets are priced by the shop. In the evening, grab some sweet soup, spring rolls, or grilled oysters, then walk over to Qiaogang Beach to see the fishing boat lights—it's more down-to-earth than Silver Beach. Golden Bay Mangroves: Approx. 8:00 AM–6:00 PM. Admission + sightseeing bus is around 90 yuan; the package including the clam-digging experience is a better deal. Wear flip-flops and bring a small rake to find clams—it's only fun at low tide. Don't touch rare vegetation or protected species; just enjoy the ecosystem. Ocean Window: 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, 98 yuan for adults. The shark dance and underwater tunnel are paid experiences. It's indoors with AC to see the coral—a lifesaver on muggy days and great for keeping your cool with kids. Weizhou Island: Island entry ticket starts at approx. 98 yuan, ferry ticket starts at 145 yuan one-way. Take your time exploring the Volcano Park, Dishui Danping, and Shiluokou; rent an e-bike to circle the island. Check for shuttle services for some trails in Crocodile Mountain. If you get seasick, don't force it. Check ferry schedules on Trip.com before heading to the island—it's better than waiting around blindly at the terminal. 🗓 3-day itinerary Day 1: Morning at Silver Beach to catch the breeze and collect shells, lunch at Old Street with shrimp cakes and iced coffee, evening in Qiaogang for sweet soup and night lights. Day 2: Morning clam digging at the mangroves, return to the city for seafood porridge at lunch, afternoon at Ocean Window for AC, evening at the Maritime Silk Road First Port for the water and fire show (night show tickets start at approx. 65 yuan). Day 3: Early morning ferry from the passenger port to Weizhou, lunch on the island with banana chicken, afternoon photos at the Volcano Park + Shiluokou, return to Beihai in the evening for congee hot pot. 🏨 Accommodation For Silver Beach, stay at the Beihai Silver Beach Kaiyuan Mingdu Hotel—the sea-view rooms let you see the sand from your window, and the pool keeps the kids busy so I can relax. For a lower budget, choose the Meihao Hotel (Silver Beach branch); it's near Shanghai Road, offers great value, and includes parking. Near Old Street, choose the Guofa Hualian Hotel (Beibu Gulf Square Old Street branch) to walk to Zhuhai Road and save on transport. If you want quiet, choose the Yinshu Silver Beach International Passenger Port Hotel—it has a villa feel and makes waiting for the ferry stress-free. 🚌 Transportation Taxis from Fucheng Airport to Silver Beach/Beibu Gulf are reasonably priced. In the city, take the bus to Silver Beach Middle Road, Beibu Gulf Square, or Zhuhai Road Old Street station, then walk. For Qiaogang, take the bus to the Qiaogang area and walk into the street. For Weizhou, take the ferry from the International Passenger Port; check Trip.com for booking and weather-related cancellation alerts. Buses are cheap but transfers are a headache—if you're in a rush, just take a taxi. Two highlights: The Silver Beach sunset is free and incredibly healing, and biking through the Old Street feels more adventurous than taking a taxi. Two struggles: The midday heat in September is stifling—you'll melt and your makeup will be gone in 10 minutes. If the Weizhou ferry hits rough seas, the queue to reschedule can turn you into a statue. 💡 Tips Recommended for: People who love the sea, late-night snacks, and avoiding crowds; September ticket prices are great. Not recommended for: People who are extremely sensitive to humidity/heat, get seasick but insist on going to Weizhou, or only want to visit shopping malls. September has many thunderstorms; bring sunscreen, a light jacket, and flip-flops. Don't wear white shoes to the mangroves. 🍜 Food Qiaogang shrimp cakes crunch when you bite into them, with a mix of green onion and sea salt. The Vietnamese rolls are translucent, with a cool mint flavor paired with sticky, savory peanut sauce. The seafood porridge near Silver Beach is cooked until the rice grains break down, and the clams are so fresh they'll make your tongue slip. The iced coffee on Old Street has a perfect bitter-sweet balance, and eating it with a shrimp cake feels like falling in love in the sea breeze. Three-day dining budget: Day 1: Breakfast (shrimp cake + coffee) 35 yuan, lunch (stir-fried snails + claypot rice) 80 yuan, dinner (sweet soup + grilled oysters) 120 yuan. Day 2: Breakfast (porridge shop) 15 yuan, lunch (seafood porridge + side dishes) 90 yuan, dinner (rice rolls + coconut juice after returning from the Maritime Silk Road First Port) 60 yuan. Day 3: Simple meal on the boat 40 yuan, lunch (banana chicken on Weizhou) 130 yuan, dinner (congee hot pot on return) 110 yuan. Total for three days is about 680 yuan. It doesn't hurt the wallet; it feels like every meal is so good the sea breeze convinces you to take another bite. It's affordable, and you'll always want to order more. Personally, I think the free admission to Silver Beach and Old Street is Beihai's biggest virtue, but whether Weizhou is worth it is highly debated: you pay for the ferry but might waste the trip due to weather. What do you think? Comment to roast me or praise me—it all helps me gain experience. Don't buy your Trip.com hotel or ferry bookings at the last minute.

Guangxi has been the land of the Baiyue people since ancient times, where ethnic groups like the Xiou and Luoyue worked, living in harmony while maintaining their unique identities, inclusive and open. During the Qin and Han dynasties, the Lingqu Canal connected the north and south, and Hepu Port set sail for the Maritime Silk Road. Diverse cultures intertwined here. Although it lacks the fame of the heavy ancient capitals of the Central Plains, it hides a gentleness and grandeur unique to Lingnan. From the exquisite artifacts of the Han Dynasty Maritime Silk Road to the brilliant civilization of ethnic minorities, spend two hours walking into the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Museum, embark on a journey through a thousand years of Zhuang history, and understand the prosperity and heritage of this land of mountains and seas over the millennia. …… ⭐️ The museum has 4 floors, with the entrance on the 2nd floor. "Ancient Civilization of Guangxi" is a general exhibition of Guangxi's history, helping you understand the changes in Guangxi from ancient times to the present! The temporary exhibition "From Hepu to Chang'an – Cultural Integration on the Maritime and Overland Silk Roads" presents a picture of the flow of civilization from the shores of the South China Sea to the Guanzhong Plain. The 3rd floor features "Flames in the Southern Frontier – Exhibition of Guangxi's Modern Revolutionary History" and "Setting Sail from Hepu – Guangxi's Maritime Silk Road in the Han Dynasty." There is also a temporary exhibition, "Portraits of All Beings – Literary Figures in Ancient Books and Porcelain from the Collection," and a paid exhibition, "Digital Exhibition of Ancient Guangxi Bronze Drum Culture." The 4th floor houses "Ingenuity and Continuity – Cultural Relic Conservation and Restoration Exhibition." The 1st floor has a gift shop and the exit. Outside, there is also a Cultural Relic Garden, which showcases the dwellings of Guangxi's ethnic minorities using architecture such as Zhuang stilt houses, Dong wind and rain bridges, Miao stilt buildings, and Maonan stone houses. …… ✨ Although literature and history are not Guangxi's strong suits, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Museum has a rich collection spanning from the Paleolithic Age to modern times. It focuses on local Guangxi history, Maritime Silk Road culture, and ethnic minority artifacts. The museum's signature artifacts are stunning, and seeing them will overturn your perception of ancient Lingnan civilization. ✅ Must-see 🔥 Wedge-shaped double-shouldered stone shovel (Fig. 3) 🔥 Bronze You with animal mask pattern (Fig. 4) 🔥 Lacquer-painted bronze cylinder with handle (Fig. 5) 🔥🔥 Bronze drum with flying egret pattern (Fig. 6) 🔥🔥 Bronze phoenix lamp with feather pattern (Fig. 7) 🔥 Large bronze horse (Fig. 7) 🔥 Gilded silver Makara with hairpins (Fig. 8) …… 💡 Practical Information 🔥 Stamp collecting: A total of 23 free stamps can be collected, available on floors 1–3 (Fig. 2) 🏠 Address: No. 34 Minzu Avenue, Qingxiu District, Nanning | Free | Metro Line 1, Minzu Square Station, Exit B | No reservation required | ⏰ Hours: Closed on Mondays | Tue–Sun 9:00 AM–5:00 PM | Last entry at 4:30 PM ⌚️ Visit duration: 2.5 hours
