Look at historical China, come to Yuci Old Town, it's worth visiting Yuci
Look at historical China, come to Yuci Old Town, it's worth visiting Yuci, with nearly 3000 years of city-building history;
In the Spring and Autumn period, it was called Tushui, Weiyu, and Zhongdu, and in the Warring States period, it was renamed Yuci;
The existing old city was built in the second year of the Kaihuang era of the Sui Dynasty (582 AD) on the site of the old Han city.
The story of "Wei Jiang and Rong" in the Spring and Autumn period happened in the Yuci area. It was the first time in Chinese history that a dispute was resolved peacefully, becoming a landmark of China's "peace culture".
Important figures such as Zhao State minister Lin Xiangru, Later Han Emperor Liu Zhiyuan, Song Dynasty prime minister Kou Zhun, and Ming Dynasty honest official Chu Fu were all born in Yuci.
Yuci has a superior geographical location and has long been known as the "dry dock". It has always been a hub for north-south distribution and a gathering place for merchants. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Chang family of Chewang who opened the Tea Road, and the Wang family of Niedian who had banks all over the country, together with merchants from Qixian, Taigu, and Pingyao, created the world-renowned miracle of Jin merchants. The existing Chang Family Manor is known as "China's No. 1 Confucian Merchant Family", making Yuci an important birthplace of Jin merchant culture.
Due to historical reasons, many buildings in the old city gradually disappeared. In 2000, Geng Yanbo was transferred to Yuci, Jinzhong City, to initiate the restoration of the old city.
After the restoration, the city has many historical and cultural attractions such as the City God Temple, County Office, Confucian Temple, Fengming Academy, North and South Streets, City Tower, Sifeng Tower, Qingxu Pavilion, Dasheng Temple, and West Garden, with more than 50 films and TV dramas filmed here.

Travel to Shanxi, don't miss this treasure ancient temple
✅️There is a place 30 minutes by bullet train from Taiyuan, it is the hometown of Mencius' mother Zhang Shi, the ancestral home of the Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi, and the hometown of the modern celebrity Kong Xiangxi. With a history of more than 1,400 years, it once became the 'Wall Street of China' due to the Jin merchants. This is Taigu, named after 'Three Mountains as Tai, Nine Valleys as Gu'.
✅️In addition to its long history, Taigu also retains rich relics. Within the small area of Taigu, there are 10 national key cultural relic protection units. Besides the former residence of Kong Xiangxi and Wubian Temple, my favorite is Jinxin Temple located in Yangyi Village, Yangyi Township.
🚗Although Jinxin Temple is not well-known, it is actually not difficult to reach. You can take a train from Taiyuan to Taigu or Taigu West Station. I recommend getting off at Taigu Station. After getting off, I didn't find any direct buses, but you can take a taxi or a tricycle, and it's not far.
✅️Upon arriving at Jinxin Temple, I initially couldn't find the contact information of the cultural relics manager. Later, after carefully searching, I found the phone number on the screen wall. After calling, the manager was initially reluctant to come and open the door, but after some pleading and explaining that I came from afar, and offering some compensation, she finally came to open the door for me, for which I was very grateful.
✅️Looking into the history of Jinxin Temple, we can learn that it was founded in the sixth year of the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty. It was originally a nunnery and later changed to a monastery. After several renovations and expansions over the dynasties, it has formed the current two-entry courtyard.
✅️The central axis from south to north includes the mountain gate, the opera stage, the Pilu Hall, and the Mahavira Hall. On both sides, there are the White Robe Hall (Niangniang Hall), the Guan Gong Hall, the Huiquan Hall, the Bell Tower, the Drum Tower, the East and West Heavenly King Halls, the Guanyin Hall, and the Dizang Hall.
✅️First, let's look at the opera stage. The design of this stage is very special. It is a combination of a front veranda with a hip-and-gable roof and a back with a suspended gable roof. There are also wooden eight-character walls on both sides.
However, the most spectacular part of this stage is the wooden carvings on the dougong and eaves. The ends of the beams and the heads of the brackets are carved into dragon heads, and the dragon and phoenix patterns on the brackets are intricately carved. The top of the stage is covered with dazzling peacock blue glazed tiles, which look brilliant from a distance.
✅️Next, let's look at the Manjusri Hall, which preserves the most beautiful hanging sculptures in Jinxin Temple. In the middle of the hall is the main statue of Manjusri riding a lion, surrounded by various Arhat statues, some kind, some serene, some cute, all with different expressions. The surroundings are decorated with hanging sculptures of mountains, trees, clouds, and flying phoenixes, creating a heavenly sanctuary.
The Puxian Hall opposite also has hanging sculptures, but they are not as well-preserved.
✅️Next, let's look at the Niangniang Hall. As the name suggests, this is a place where people pray for children. Inside the hall, there is a statue of a wet nurse and double-sided maid statues, which are very special and worth a good look. The wet nurse's expression is kind and elegant, making it a fine example of Ming Dynasty colored sculptures.
✅️For those who like murals, you should also check out the Fox God Hall, which enshrines Hu Tu, a minister of the Jin State during the Spring and Autumn period. The hall is not large, but the two murals inside are very special, with a tiger on the west side and a dragon on the east side.
✅️Finally, be sure to see the Mahavira Hall, a Ming Dynasty building with a single-eave gable roof, five rooms wide and three rooms deep. Inside the hall, there are Ming Dynasty colored sculptures, including statues of Buddha, Guanyin, and Mahasthamaprapta.
The east and west walls also retain late Ming Dynasty water and land murals - the 'All Heavens Worshiping Buddha' painting, with colors mainly in white, blue, and red.
✅️It is also said that on the 18th day of the second lunar month, there is a temple fair in Yangyi, and Jinxin Temple will be open for local people to worship.

Jinzhong Yuci Old City
Jinzhong Yuci Ancient City.
Yuci Old City covers an area of 1 million square meters, with ancient buildings and garden buildings covering 600,000 square meters. Inside the old city, there are many ancient buildings such as the City God Temple, the County Government Office, the Confucian Temple, the Fengming Academy, the North and South Streets, and the City Tower. Yuci is one of the ancient cities in Shanxi, serving as the southern gate of the provincial capital Taiyuan, and is known as a significant town in the south of Taiyuan.
It costs only two yuan for a train ticket from Taiyuan to Yuci, which is quite convenient. Having seen the prosperity of many provincial capital cities, one might forget the hidden treasures in small towns. My first visit to Yuci left me captivated by the culture hidden within its exquisite buildings.

Yunquan Valley is worth a visit
Living in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, I have always longed for OMG Heartbeat Park. Unexpectedly, I found a cost-effective park comparable to OMG in Yuci, Shanxi! The all-inclusive ticket allows you to enjoy key features such as the glass walkway, drifting, high-altitude slide, high-altitude zipline, high-altitude walkway, and seven-color slide to your heart's content. For family fun, there are also children's facilities like the carousel, bumper cars, trampoline park, and pirate ship. The internet-famous bridge lets you enjoy the fun of playing with water~ The experience is no less than that in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai~ I especially recommend the Starry Sky Art Museum, which offers an identical experience to the one at Shanghai's Super Brand Mall~ Highly recommended.

Jinzhong · Yuci, Old City Scenery
This trip, I chose to stay at Jinzhong Huaxia Licheng Hotel, which turned out to be a wise decision. The moment I stepped into the hotel lobby, I was captivated by its elegant and grand environment. The front desk staff were warm and friendly, and the check-in process was quick and efficient, making me feel welcomed after a tiring journey.
Entering the room was an even bigger surprise. The room was spacious and bright, with exquisite and elegant decor. Every detail reflected quality and care. The bed was soft and comfortable, like lying on a cloud. As soon as I lay down, I instantly relaxed and had a good night's sleep. The room's facilities were also comprehensive, from convenient charging ports to high-speed and stable wireless internet, making me feel very thoughtful.
The bathroom was clean and tidy, with high-quality toiletries. Moreover, the room's soundproofing was excellent, allowing me to rest in a quiet environment without external disturbances.
Besides the room, the hotel's service was also top-notch. The staff always greeted me with a smile, and any needs were promptly met. The food I tasted at the hotel's restaurant was also unforgettable, with a rich variety and excellent taste.
In Jinzhong, I also visited the old city of Yuci. The ancient buildings and narrow streets seemed to tell stories of the past. Walking through them, feeling the sediment of time, had a unique charm.
Afterwards, I went to the Wutai Mountain Scenic Area. The rolling mountains and solemn temples were filled with a mysterious religious atmosphere. Standing on the mountain top and looking down, the beautiful scenery was breathtaking.
But what satisfied me most about this trip was the accommodation experience at Jinzhong Huaxia Licheng Hotel. It was not just a place to rest, but more like a home on the journey. Next time I have the chance, I will definitely choose to stay here again!

Traveling Around Shanxi Series (Thirteen) - Yuci·Xiaoxigou Wellness Town
Wasting time among mountains, houses, and vegetation, following the ebb and flow of the heart to stretch the veins of 'me,' gaining the joy that a small person wandering in nature deserves.
Driving on this narrow winding mountain road in Yuci, the greenery quietly spreads over the mountains, and tranquility slowly permeates. When Xiaoxigou gradually appeared before my eyes under the embrace of the sun, that sense of peace and stillness filled the empty heart.
It is neither luxurious nor complicated, just so simple, hidden in the mountains. It is neither special nor aloof, just so genuine, standing in the mountains.
Here, traditional Chinese culture is displayed in various forms: paper cutting, calligraphy, Chinese painting, horse lanterns, opera, etc. Here, walking and stopping, with a moving heart and a self-moving heart, the world is you, time is you, only you.
If a place touches your softness, moves your stubbornness, eases your guard, and relieves your anxiety, then this place is valuable. Mountains and rivers, winds and rains, what rotates is just a person's mood in this world, making them like a solar-powered lamp, able to recharge at any time, never lacking the courage and strength to move forward with head held high.
Perhaps this is the meaning of travel.
📍TIPS:
📌Location: Search for Xiaoxigou Cultural Tourism Wellness Town in navigation.
💰Tickets: Free
🅿️Parking: There is a parking lot, free.
💚Ancient streets with cultural and creative products, snacks, drinks, and inns. There is also an old grand stage where enthusiasts or troupes perform during holidays, very lively, a good place for a one-day trip or family trip on weekends. Currently, the town is undergoing renovation and many shops are closed. If you mind, you can wait until the renovation is completed before coming.
Nearby: It is very close to Wujinshan National Forest Park, which can be visited in one trip.

Travel to Shanxi in the summer, and this hidden gem of a small city is worth visiting
Located just a 22-minute train ride from Taiyuan, there is an ancient city called 'Wei Yu', which is the hometown of Jin Merchant culture in China. It also boasts a wealth of ancient architecture, and that is Yuci in Jinzhong.
⛰️ One-day tour itinerary:
🌟 Fengming Academy - Yuci Confucian Temple - Yuci City Tower - Yuci County Government Office - Xiyuan - Yuci City God Temple - Qingxu Pavilion (currently closed, you can take a peek through the fence)
🚌 Transportation options:
🌟 It is recommended to take a train from Taiyuan, and after getting off, take a bus to reach the ancient city.
📸 Highlights
✅ Yuci Confucian Temple: It is one of the oldest existing building complexes in Yuci city. There are not many highlights, but two places are worth focusing on. The first is the wooden archway with four pillars and three gates, whose green glazed tiles on top are particularly beautiful. The second is the 28 coiled dragon stone pillars outside the Dacheng Hall, which are majestic.
✅ Yuci County Government Office, known as the 'First Assistant of Jin Vassal' and 'The Number One Office in Sanjin', has a large complex that includes six courtyards with six entrances and exits. The architecture is not too ancient in Shanxi Province, but it well displays the regulations of the ancient county government office and is quite valuable. As the saying goes, 'For imperial courts, visit the Forbidden City; for county government offices, visit Yuci', so naturally, when you come to Yuci, you should see this complex.
✅ Yuci City God Temple, which is a key national cultural heritage site, also has a considerable size. The two statues of warriors inside the mountain gate are particularly spectacular, and after entering the gate, you will see the combined structure of the Xuanjian Tower. The Xuanjian Tower, together with the music tower, stage, and screen wall, form a whole and was rated as one of the world's 100 most exquisite ancient buildings by the World Historic and Cultural Site Protection in 1999.
✅ Other highlights: Due to limited time, I did not visit Chang Family Manor, but there are also many highlights here, such as the largest and most complete ancestral hall in Chinese residential buildings, and the largest screen wall in Shanxi residential buildings, etc.
Yuci is not big, but it has many cultural highlights. If you come to Taiyuan, consider taking a day to explore.

A millennium-old ancient city just 21 minutes from Taiyuan, once known as China's Wall Street
In China, there is such a place, it is a millennium-old ancient city just 21 minutes from Taiyuan, once known as China's Wall Street, free yet little known! Perhaps curious friends will ask, where exactly is this place once called China's Wall Street? What are the unknown secrets there? With these questions and curiosity, today let's talk about the stories of Taigu Ancient City. Taigu Ancient City has a long history and grand scale. The city was founded in the sixth year of Jiande of Emperor Wu of the Northern Zhou Dynasty (577), and has a history of more than 1400 years. During the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty, the city was heightened with brick-built gates. In the fourth year of Wanli of the Ming Dynasty, the brick city was rebuilt, with an added circular wall, on an unprecedented scale. Over the next few hundred years, with continuous repairs, the city walls became tall, thick, and complete with facilities such as enemy towers, barbicans, and moats, until the walls were eventually demolished. Inside the city, there were four streets, eight wells, and seventy-two alleys, with the Drum Tower at the center, radiating three main streets to the east, south, and west, and the old county government office to the north of the tower. The houses in the city are mostly two-story buildings with front porches, relatively high in architectural grade, and still retain the old architectural style. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Jin merchant guilds emerged in Taigu, bringing a great deal of wealth to the city. Taigu Ancient City was expanded again and again, far exceeding the scale of Pingyao Ancient City.

Yuci Old Town | Stroll around when you have nothing better to do, the southern gate of Taiyuan!
Shanxi ancient city collection, Yuci Old Town stands out uniquely, called the "Ghost City", but in fact, it is a hidden gem! 👻
📍 The Yuci on the navigation, right next to Taiyuan, is truly a southern gateway that stands shoulder to shoulder. The spirit of the Sui Dynasty is hidden in the dreams of the old Han city, and although Yuci Old Town has been renovated, it still leisurely tells the tales of the years, not competing for the name of "ancient city", but possessing a calm and composed demeanor. 😌
📸【The Soul of Yuci in the Lens】
🏮【Yuci City God Temple】—— Top 100 ancient buildings worldwide, every brick and tile sings the low chant of history. 🌟
🏛️【Yuci County Government Office】—— The foremost official residence in Shanxi, stepping inside, it's as if one can hear the authoritative echo of the ancient government office. 🔔
🏫【Yuci Confucian Temple】—— The Lingxing Gate from the Song Dynasty, with a strong sense of crossing through time, is a pilgrimage site for scholars and literati. 🖋️
🔮【Qingxu Pavilion】—— The octagonal caisson ceiling is stunningly beautiful, and looking up is astonishing. 💫
Walking through Yuci Old Town, with its two main streets, the City God Temple definitely takes the central spot, and the rest, well, even just checking in at the entrance is quite flavorful. 📸 The tranquility of the weekend, with less commercial hustle and bustle, adds a touch of ancient peace. Although slightly desolate, isn't that original serenity exactly what we sometimes seek? 🌿
💭【Heart-to-Heart Time】
Compared to the bustling Xinzhou Ancient City, Yuci Old Town seems still asleep. With a ticket price of 78, is it worth it? That's a matter of opinion. 🤔 Xinzhou Ancient City is free and extraordinarily lively, while Yuci is more like an ancient dream waiting to be awakened. Perhaps, it is quietly waiting for someone with a heart to uncover its sealed beauty. ✨
Phoenix nirvana, looking forward to Yuci's magnificent transformation, not to be a "young phoenix", but to soar as a true "Phoenix City" among the clouds! The rebirth of the phoenix is just around the corner! 🔥💪

Yuci Old Town in Jinzhong, I hope it remains a living ancient city
The ancient cities of Shanxi are numerous
Datong, Pingyao, Xinzhou, Jiexiu, Yuncheng
The only one known as the 'Ghost City' is Yuci Old Town...
Looking at the navigation map, Yuci seems to be closer to Taiyuan, no wonder the people of Shanxi call Yuci the southern gate of Taiyuan. The old city was built on the site of the old Han City during the Sui Dynasty's Kaihuang era. It has the flavor of Pingyao, but today's Yuci Old Town, most of the buildings are renovated to look old. To call it an old town is still appropriate, at least it doesn't claim to be an ancient city...
📸Highlights
✅ Yuci City God Temple: One of the world's 100 most exquisite ancient buildings
✅ Yuci County Government Office: The number one government office in Sanjin
✅ Yuci Confucian Temple: The Lingxing Gate feels like it's originally from the Song Dynasty
✅ Qingxu Pavilion: The Bagua (Eight Trigrams) caisson ceiling is beautiful
Yuci Old Town is not big, just one street across and one street down. The City God Temple is worth a look, the rest you can probably just glance at from the outside. On a big weekend, there are hardly any tourists in the old town, shops are closed, there's nothing to eat or drink, weeds are growing on the ground, and there are many 'large entertainment facilities' in front of the City God Temple, which seem out of place. Is this the so-called blend of ancient and modern? And they dare to charge 78 yuan for admission? I've been to Xinzhou Ancient City, and in terms of ancient architecture, it's not as good as Yuci, but in terms of popularity, the free Xinzhou Ancient City is bustling with visitors... That's what you call a living old town.
Yuci was once called Fengcheng
I just hope it doesn't become the 'young phoenix' in the story of 'Sleeping Dragon and Young Phoenix'‼️
LILIAN SAVAGE
Taigu, less known than Pingyao, is not just about the Jin Merchant culture
"Golden Taigu, Silver Qixian, Copper Pingyao, Yuci County with inexhaustible rice and noodles", compared to Pingyao, Taigu seems even more serene.
The attractions in Taigu are not very abundant, mainly divided into two areas for sightseeing: the ancient city area centered around the Taigu Drum Tower; and some ancient temples in the suburbs.
The ancient city is small and can be explored through a city walk. The whole ancient city of Taigu is known for its layout of 'four streets, eight wells, and seventy-two alleys', with dozens of small alleys. The city is filled with over a hundred old houses with Ming and Qing architectural styles, suitable for a leisurely stroll.
Key points of interest include: Wubian Temple - Kong Xiangxi's Residence - Drum Tower - Taigu County Yamen - County-level cultural preservation units on the main street - Anchansi Temple
Highlights summary:
1️⃣ Wubian Temple: Currently, the Shanmen gate, Siming Pavilion, wooden archway, fish pond, white pagoda, and the halls of Heavenly Kings, Mahavira, stele corridor, and scripture tower are preserved. The most precious is the white pagoda in the middle, which is very distinctive, combining elements of pavilions, platforms, towers, and attics.
2️⃣ Anchansi Temple: Hidden within a school, it is often overlooked by most tourists. Anchansi Temple currently has the scripture hall and rear hall preserved, with the rest destroyed. The rear hall is a Ming dynasty relic, and the focus is on the Song dynasty wooden scripture hall.
Since it is inside a school, it is generally inaccessible, and one can only view it from afar by the school's railings.
3️⃣ Drum Tower: In Taigu, there is a saying, "Taigu city is truly famous, with the Drum Tower built right in the heart of the street," which shows the importance of the Drum Tower. After entering the ancient city and walking on South Street, one can see the wooden tower at a glance. This is the Taigu Drum Tower, also known as Daguanlou. It was originally built during the Wanli period of the Ming dynasty and has stood firm despite multiple renovations.
The lower level of the Drum Tower has four gates, named "Guanxiang, Tiaofen, Yifeng, Gongchen", and the upper level is a two-story, triple-eaved Xieshan top wooden tower-style building, with the top covered in green glazed tiles, offering a pleasant view.
4️⃣ Taigu County Yamen: A few hundred meters north of the Drum Tower is another district-level cultural preservation unit - Taigu County Yamen. The main building is the main hall, a relic from the Ming dynasty, not very large, and it seems to be under renovation for development.
5️⃣ Jingxin Temple: Like many temples in Shanxi, it is niche and inconveniently located, usually closed, and one may need to ask the cultural management staff to open the doors for a visit.
The entire temple includes more than ten halls within two axial courtyards. There are many highlights, and here are a few favorite spots.
🔹 Stage: It is one of the more unique stages I have seen in Shanxi, with a peculiar dougong structure, which is a layer of densely packed wooden brackets, beautifully layered.
🔹 Bell and Drum Towers: On both sides of the courtyard are the bell and drum towers. Under the eaves of the bell tower hangs a Ming dynasty glazed plaque with the words "Whale Spouting", with a yellow background and blue characters; the drum tower has the words "Perching Egret".
🔹 Fox Fairy Hall: The gable retains Yuan dynasty murals of the Azure Dragon and White Tiger, the earliest murals in Jingxin Temple.
🔹 Wenshu Hall: The suspended sculptures inside are unique.
🔹 Pilu Hall: Mainly for the colorful sculptures and vivid murals of Buddha's stories.
🔹 Stele Corridor: Contains two "Tang steles".
🔹 Mahavira Hall: Late Ming dynasty water and land murals.
🔹 Goddess Hall: Rare double-sided sculptures.
Today, the ancient city of Taigu has begun to be renovated and is following Pingyao's commercial route. Although it is also a need for local tourism development, I hope it will not be overdone.

Cao Family Courtyard
The Cao Family Courtyard, located 5 kilometers southwest of Taigu County in Shanxi Province, is in Beiguang Village.
The Cao Family Courtyard is a mansion of the Cao family, a wealthy merchant family from the Ming and Qing dynasties, also known as the 'Hall of Three Abundances,' named for the blessings of wealth, longevity, and many offspring.
Architectural features: With a unique style, it is one of the representatives of ancient traditional residential architecture in northern China. Viewed from a distance, the Cao Family Courtyard is shaped like the Chinese character for 'longevity.' This 'longevity' character courtyard is the central hall of a branch of the Cao family. It consists of three four-story hall buildings, each topped with a pavilion. The courtyard is divided into southern and northern parts, with three interconnected courtyards arranged side by side from east to west.
Main attractions: Hall of Three Abundances, the history of the Cao family's business, Ming and Qing furniture exhibition, Treasure Gallery, porcelain exhibition, Hundred Longevity Screen, anti-smoking stele, anti-gambling stele.

Travel Notes of Taigu|||Taigu Travel
|||Taigu Travel. Sixty miles south from Taiyuan lies the Taigu District in the center of Shanxi.
Wandering through the ancient streets, one's eyes are greeted by old houses, old mansions, and old courtyards, while the mottled and aged walls seem to tell of past prosperity.
The old residence of Kong Xiangxi, the Minister of Finance during the Republic of China, the White Pagoda of the Wubian Monastery built during the Western Jin Dynasty (272 AD), the Ming Dynasty Drum Tower... all bear witness to the scenes of bygone days.

It is Tianjiawan Reservoir.
·
Tianjiawan Reservoir in Jinzhong, when winter comes, the surface of the water is covered with a large area of ice covered by snow, it is all ice blue, and after the snow, it is white. There are also tree trunks growing out of the water behind the mountain, standing alone on the lake, it's really beautiful.
·
✨Tips:

Chang Family Manor in Yuci, Shanxi | The cruelty of time and the charm of history intersect here
Chang Family Manor, a national AAAA level tourist attraction, is the architectural complex of the Chang family in Che Wang Village, Dongyang Town, Yuci, known as the 'Confucian Merchant Family'.
It was first built during the Qianjia period, and was renovated many times afterwards. It covers an area of 600,000 square meters, with more than 4,000 rooms, over 50 buildings, and 13 small gardens. The buildings occupy half of the original Che Wang Village. In 1947, it was destroyed in many places due to the war, and was later restored.
🚩Fort Gate
To enter the manor, you need to pass through the tall and majestic fort gate with the words 'Dun Gan Ji'. This gate is the only surviving one among the eight fort gates of the manor.
🚩Chang's Back Street
After entering the park, the street in front of you that runs from east to west is the famous Chang's Back Street. This street leads directly to the depths of the manor and is the necessary route to all houses.
🚩Chang's Ancestral Hall
It is the most important building here, built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. It is the largest, most complete, and best-equipped ancestral hall architectural group in northern China with extremely high specifications.
🚩Jing Garden
It perfectly integrates the styles of gardens in the north and south. However, Suzhou's gardens will have large water scenes, which look softer. (There is also an apricot garden in the garden)
🚩Lion Garden
There are stone lions of various shapes in the garden, and there is also a special lion shadow wall, which is very interesting.
🚩Shi Yun Xuan Academy
It is named after the Shi Yun Xuan calligraphy post. The academy is composed of three parts, and the central stele corridor is its main body. The calligraphy posts are all engraved on the walls of the stele corridor.
🚩Gui He Tang
Inside the hall is the largest brick carving shadow wall in Chinese residences: the gilt square seal motto shadow wall. This shadow wall is densely engraved with 340 seal characters, all of which are mottos for people to behave in the world. ㊙️Some people say it is a treasure map
🚩Guan Jie Pavilion
Guan Jie Pavilion is a building built by the water in the manor garden. Standing on the building, you can see the continuous houses of the Chang family nearby, and you can also see the large fields and farmhouses around.
‼️It is said that the old master Chang often got up early to climb high, to see which family of his descendants was diligent and which was lazy, and he would admonish the lazy one😂

Yuci Old Town is quite cold, but that doesn't stop me from loving it!
I've been to Yuci Old Town many times, but I still love its ancient architecture the most!
Yuci Old Town, located in Yuci District, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, was built on the site of the old city in the second year of Sui Kaihuang (AD 582), and has a history of 1400 years, mainly with Ming and Qing architecture.
The brick and tile buildings of Yuci Old Town, each with its own beautiful shape, exquisite brick carvings, wood carvings, stone carvings, and colored paintings: the muscular statues in front of the City God Temple, the exquisite hollow wood carvings in the West Garden, the colored paintings of Yuci County Yamen, the first building in the world standing in the C position, etc., vividly tell the vicissitudes of the years and the accumulation of heavy history.
Yuci Old Town is free, and the small scenic spots inside need to buy tickets, 60 yuan. Departing from Taiyuan, take the 901 branch line at the train station directly to the old city, the fare is 3 yuan.

The Fengming Academy covers an area of more than 20,000 square meters. In the 13th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, the county magistrate Qian Zhiqing set up a charity school here. In the 31st year of Qianlong, it was called "Fengming Academy". The name of the academy comes from Xun Miao of the Western Jin Dynasty, who was the county magistrate of Yuci and had outstanding political achievements. There is a saying that the phoenix gathers in Yuci. The academy is laid out in a garden style, with two Xianci and lecture halls as the main ancient buildings, as well as hexagonal pavilions, quadrangular pavilions, green flower pavilions, altars, etc. The lake and mountains compete for glory, pavilions, towers and buildings are interspersed, the trees are lush, and the environment is quiet, which is an ideal environment for students to study and read.

Ground cultural relics look at Shanxi|Jinzhong|Jingxin Temple
Jingxin Temple, founded in the sixth year of Kaiyuan in the Tang Dynasty (714); rebuilt during the Dading period of the Jin Dynasty (1161-1189);
During the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty (1506-1521), the Pilu Hall was used as the southern hall, and the Daxiong Hall was expanded to the north with five rooms, the Guanyin Hall and the Dizang Hall each with five rooms, and a stage;
In the thirty-third year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1605), a bell and drum tower was added; in the forty-fourth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1616), the Baiyi Hall and Huiquan Hall were added.
The stage: built on a 1.8-meter-high platform, the back stage is three rooms wide and four rafters deep, with a single eave hanging mountain top, and eight-character sound walls on both sides. The front stage is three rooms wide and five rafters deep, with a rolled shed and a mountain top. The peacock blue glazed tile covers the top, and a plaque of "Shen Ting and Peace" from the fourth year of Daoguang (1824) hangs under the eaves. The heads of the eaves are all carved into dragon heads, and the birds are carved into coiled dragons. The word "Zhao Jia" is written on the back of the stage, and the upper and lower stage doors are titled "Chu Jiang" and "Ren Xiang" respectively.
Pilu Hall: Also known as the Three Buddha Hall, it is a main hall with three rooms wide and a single eave hanging mountain top. Inside the hall are statues of Sakyamuni Buddha, Medicine Buddha and Amitabha Buddha. The east and west walls and the rear eave wall of the Three Buddha Hall are painted with murals, which are Buddha's life pictures made with Buddha's stories, drawn in the form of Ming Dynasty's popular comic strip and Ming-style meticulous painting, actually drawn in the Qing Dynasty.
Daxiong Hall: Ming Dynasty architecture, five rooms wide and three rooms deep, with a single eave hanging mountain top, no pillars inside, and statues of Tathagata Buddha, Guanyin Bodhisattva, and Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva. The east and west walls are also painted with pictures of all the heavens worshiping the Buddha, using the Ming-style meticulous painting method.
The layout of the temple is very regular, the stage, hanging sculptures, murals, and glazed tiles are all very exquisite, each of the 11 halls has something to see inside and out, and I don't know where to look first.
Tips:
In 2006, Jingxin Temple was announced by the State Council as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
It is difficult to take a taxi around Jingxin Temple, it is recommended to drive there.
