Montreal Surreal Fairy Tale
A visit to the botanical garden seems to us like a leisurely walk and peaceful admiring of beautiful flower beds, an abundance of fragrant flowers, ponds and green glades. But the Montreal Garden is more than just a greenhouse. It looks like a fantastic open-air museum, with exhibits made of multicolored flowers and greenery. When you find yourself here, you get the impression that you have entered a fairy-tale world, and its huge bizarre creatures are about to come to life.
This fantastic garden is located in Canada, namely in the city of Montreal, and is considered one of the largest and most impressive in the whole world. Its territory stretches freely over 75 hectares, splitting into several themed gardens at once. So, for example, there is a garden of thousands of roses, including even ancient varieties, a useful garden of medicinal plants, charming and such different Chinese and English gardens, a garden of rhododendrons, a curious garden of aquatic plants, a garden of dangerous poisonous plants and others. There are 30 of them in total, but apart from them, this place also boasts a dozen greenhouses. The grandiose collection of the Montreal garden totals over 20 thousand different species of fauna. Special attention should be paid to the local insectarium, which is home to more than 160 thousand different species of insects!
This paradise oasis was founded in the 1930s in the midst of very difficult times for the country — the Great Depression. It was at this time that botanist Joseph Marie-Victorin came up with the wonderful idea of creating such a project, and the mayor of Montreal fully supported him. A lot of work was done to bring the idea to life, and 5 years later the garden opened its doors to the first visitors. Since then, they have been trying to preserve this wonderful place in the harsh climate of the province of Quebec, carefully caring for it. The attraction has become a favorite vacation spot not only for Canadians, but also for guests from all over the world, at any time of the year allowing them to enjoy the beauty of nature and giving peace.

Notre-Dame Basilica
This majestic building will get your heart racing with its beauty. Comparable to the Notre-Dame in Paris, this church is one a must-see attraction in North America. The ticket is affordable and the line moves fast, even in Covid times. You can light up a candle or listen to the service. There is a small museum upstairs. The gift shop was closed when I visited in summer 2022.#montreal #canada #travelinspiration #famouschurches #notredame

view from the peak is definitely worth the climb. be careful if you’re going in the winter as the ice and snow will usually cover the tracks and make for a slippery climb.

An afternoon in Chinatown
Chinatown Montreal is a great place to get authentic Asian food. You'll be spoiled with choices, ranging from Cantonese Dim Sum to Vietnamese pho. The restaurants there mainly cater to an older Asian population, so you know the food is quite authentic. Additionally, it's also a great place to buy some Asian groceries, which may not be available in other supermarkets. Take a stroll inside one of the many supermarkets, you'll be rewarded with exotic produce!
Chinatown is also a great place to stroll around. It isn't as big and busy as many of its counterparts but still contains a few monument such as the paifang at the entrances, which makes for a nice picture.
There's also a park that's fashioned in a Chinese style garden. Many older residents like to gather there to play board games.
Overall, a walk through Chinatown will transport you momentarily to Asia. Spend a morning or afternoon there for a trip without leaving Montreal!

Outdoor winter fun
Île Bizard is a lovely island located right next to Montreal island. It's a mostly residential area but there is also a nature park which is lovely to stroll/jog in, especially in winter.
The park is not very large but the landscape is varied and it is very enjoyable to walk around.
There is a parking around the beach area, but it is chargeable. If you don't mind walking a good 30 mins in the woods (around 50 mins return) then you can park for free in the residential area.
The beach area is especially spectacular in winter ad the water is frozen over and you can walk over it; this is an especially special experience. A word of caution though, just make sure the ice is hard enough to support your weight. The area is very calm and in winter there is a very calming quietness to the are, especially when you're alone! The overall landscape is lovely to capture in pictures so it's a great place for both great pictures and light exercise. Dress warmly though as it can get cold once you're outdoors; always better warm than sorry!

Montreal, Quebec

Every two years a city somewhere in the world spends millions upon millions on infrastructure for obscure sports like speed skating, equestrian events, and synchronized diving. But when the Olympic torch is passed to the next host and the world’s athletes, spectators, and TV cameras move on, the city is left to figure out what to do with all sorts of outmoded purpose-built structures. One such building, a structure at Montreal’s Olympic Park that was originally designed as a velodrome by French architect Roger Taillibert for the city’s 1976 Summer Games, has been returned to nature. Instead of fans, the stadium’s soaring concrete vault and skylights have provided shelter to hundreds of species of plants and animals from around the Americas since the 1990s, when the building was repurposed as the Montreal Biodome.

Our little one's kindergarten organized a farm visit to go and pick pumpkins for Halloween. Pumpkin-picking is a very traditional Halloween activity here and something that's great for children to do in fall. Many schools organize fieldtrips for their students to come and participate. The kids go to class in the farmhouse and learn from the farmer about different fruits and vegetables. They also love all the little farm animals running around and it's super cute to see them up close. Of course everyone's dressed up for Halloween as a ghost or little devil and it's such fun to pick a golden pumpkin and take it home! I can highly recommend this to anyone with kids.

. At first, it slept with closed eyes, and later found me, the innocent little eyes. Daughter-in-law.
In the afternoon, I went to the Montreal Art Museum and saw Matisse and David Bowie.
This is really a city full of artistic atmosphere.

Montreal has a particularly lively local market.
is the Jacatti Square, located in the middle of the old town, the square is slightly sloped, slowly leaning towards the old port.
There are always a lot of activities here, flowers, street performers, small traders and tourists are everywhere in the corner, so lively. We were already in the evening, and there were many street performers who were doing a lot of performances. Although some acrobatics seemed to be a little pediatric, its probably that the domestic acrobatic performances are too rare....
I think a citys market square It is the most lively place in the city. It is not only filled with small restaurants, tourists, local diners, etc. It is also a place where various cultures collide here. People gather to watch various street performances and dance with music. As the drums swayed, the restaurant also set up the outdoor terrace, the table chairs were set up, the tall parasols were set up, the pots were filled with water vapor, and everyone, in the breeze, cheered and enjoyed the local style.
There is also the advantage of walking around the square in the evening, that is, you can see this square, from the crowds of the crowds, gradually dispersed to the quiet streets in the evening. It seems that the excitement of the day disappeared here in an instant. There are only some bar music, quiet lights in the street alleys, and occasionally a big eight-footed man who is still drinking a lot of screams...
So, I like this very much. The feeling of walking in the quiet alley, like crossing in another century, is reminiscent of the movie - "Midnight Paris", and I walked in this alley, wondering if it would let me in the bar next door. Through that era, I saw people who no longer exist.

Celine Dion hosted the wedding cathedral - Notre Dame Cathedral
no mistakes for you, Canada's famous female singer Silin Dion is the wedding held here! The small road along the side has been shocked by the appearance of this church. It is clearly in this crowded old city, but it has a unique temperament. This Gothic Catholic church built in 1829 is known as North America. The biggest church! The tower is nearly 70 meters high and the oldest clock in North America is on the tower in the west. The church can accommodate up to 5,000 people at the same time. Opposite De Arms Square, it is magnificent and magnificent, and the interior is full of art.
When you walk to the door of the cathedral, you will once again feel the heat wave of tourists! There should be no more tourists, there are many people living and working in the local area. After all, during the lunch break, many people sit in the square to rest, chat with friends, or watch the performances of street performers.
When you step into the gates of Notre Dame Cathedral, you will be immersed in the strange mix of romantic luxury and solemnity. The spacious and tall hall, the blue ceiling and the colorful stained glass, each decorative detail is full of art, as if it reflects the richness of "God". The most spectacular of the
cathedral is its magnificent dome, and almost all visitors to the church will look up to appreciate its beautiful dome. Compared to the church that has passed by, it seems crowded or noisy, but I want to be in such a spacious and tall prayer hall, watching the blue ceiling glow like an emerald. The radiance, coupled with the tens of thousands of stars made of pure gold, is full of people, and everyone will be amazed!
If you like in the cathedral, you can stay here all afternoon, sit down in the lobby, watch the church's beautiful layout, or see the tourists coming and going, or really meditate and pray Just do it all. But it took a 1-2 hours for the church to play, and I felt that I was still trying to go out.

Take a walk to the old port of Montreal and see the market feel the city atmosphere
the old port used to be a leather goods and timber trading place, so there are many old buildings around, well preserved. In particular, this clock tower has a sense of time. The surrounding squares are slightly worn out but there is no shortage of tourists to add to their anger. From here, overlooking the Jacques-Cartie Bridge across the St. Lawrence River, plus the clear sky looks quite refreshing.
But now it doesn't have the features of the early years, but it is a good place to entertain. You can take a walk, ride, roller skating and jet yacht here. If you want to visit the sights, you can go to the Montreal Science Center and the white ancient clock tower built to commemorate the fallen sailors in World War I. It is located at the northern end of the port and is a great place to see the scenery. On the evening of the holiday, there will be concerts, carnival shows, etc., all of which are very lively.
In the old port along the St. Lawrence River all the way to the old city, you will see a variety of handmade art shops, if you see what you like, you can also close the price with the boss. There are a lot of craftsmanships that are quite elaborate.
There is also a relatively simple restaurant here, it is also a good choice to solve a lunch here. Although it may not be a local feature of high-level living, let's take a lazy first time, first solve your own food and clothing.
When I was shopping, it seemed that there were more media gathered around the port, and a large artificial tent, and many busy uniforms wearing the badges attracted our attention. It seems that a small live live is being held, and it is really a venue for all kinds of carnival shows or concerts!

Boarding Mount Royal and overlooking Montreal, the night view is really beautiful!
Royal Mountain has a maximum elevation of 233 meters. Although it is not high, Montreal is named here. The park is designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, a famous American designer who designed the Central Park in New York. The park has a pleasant view.
The park in summer is completely covered by green plants. It is green and lush. Walking on the mountain road obviously feels a lot of negative oxygen ions, so we can often see local people running. There will be instructions all the way to the mountains. If you don't understand, you can follow Google Maps. Every mountain road is accurate and you can go straight to the observation deck on the top of the mountain.
I was thinking that if it was autumn, Mount Royal Park was already colorful! The leaves of various vegetation will be of different colors, and they must be quite beautiful. The mountain roads will also be covered with various kinds of fallen leaves. The rustling of the leaves on the leaves will be a different experience. It takes about half an hour to walk to reach the viewing platform. It is actually a big park. At this time, at sunset, the high mountain just blocked the sunshine of the department, and the remaining warm yellow sun just sprinkled on the high-rise buildings in Montreal. I am waiting here quietly, waiting for the setting sun to go down, the night falls, and then look at the night scenes of Montreal.
When the blue sky becomes blue and deeper blue, the city's night market shines sporadically. When the lights of the city are turned on, it illuminates the city of Montreal and illuminates the days of Montreal.
Joe Cai.
Notre Dame Cathedral is the largest church in North America. Its exterior is built in the style of Notre Dame de Paris, so it is affectionately called Little Notre Dame. This is the only attraction we have purchased. The fare is 5 per adult and 4 children under 17 years old. Compared with the simplicity of the outside, entering the church seems to have entered another time and space.
The interior of the church is decorated mainly in dark blue, sky blue, red, silver and gold tones. The spacious and tall hall is intricately decorated, and each decorative detail is full of art. It is definitely the most important tourist attraction in Montreal. Every corner is so meticulous and amazing.
