There are cities that are a pleasure to visit. And then there are those that quietly stay with you forever. For me, Tbilisi was that city. My husband and I have a tradition of visiting different countries and cities on my birthday. We flew here for just three days—from February 3rd to 6th. Here, love for a guest begins with the first cup of coffee and continues with endless treats. Our first acquaintance with the city began in the area of ​​the famous sulfur baths. According to legend, it is here that the history of Tbilisi began. Narrow streets, brick-domed bathhouses, the smell of sulfur, old balconies, and cozy courtyards—it feels like you've entered an entirely different world, where time flows more slowly. But a true journey into history awaited us. Our first stop was Jvari Monastery. This place is impossible to describe in just a few words. It stands high above the confluence of the Kura and Aragvi rivers, as if it's been watching over Georgia for almost 1,500 years. The silence here is especially acute. The silence that doesn't oppress, but rather soothes. The wind blows across the ancient stones, and one of the country's most beautiful panoramas unfolds before your eyes. Of course, it was impossible not to take the cable car. In just a few minutes, all of Old Tbilisi is laid out before you. Red rooftops, ancient churches, winding streets, the Narikala Fortress, and the endless hills surrounding create a view that will linger in your memory. From here, we headed for a stroll through the Tbilisi Botanical Garden—a true green oasis in the heart of the city. Even in winter, it's surprisingly peaceful here, and a stroll along the paths allows you to briefly forget the hustle and bustle of the city. Another must-see was Mtatsminda Park. Besides the stunning panoramas of the entire city, there's a tradition here that's definitely worth following: try the famous Logidze water and treat yourself to something sweet. Tbilisi can't be judged solely by its sights. Its greatest asset is its atmosphere. This is a city of incredible authenticity, where old wooden balconies stand alongside modern neighborhoods.
