#traveldiaries The ambience of this café is absolutely charming, creating a perfect backdrop for a delightful brunch experience. The soft lighting casts a warm glow throughout the space, while the playful decor features a giant teddy bear that immediately draws you in. The cozy seating invites you to relax and linger, making it easy to spend hours chatting with friends or enjoying a quiet moment alone. Find one of a kind craftsmanship here!
#traveldiaries While exploring Paris, I stumbled upon a charming handicraft shop that instantly captured my attention. The moment I walked in, I was enveloped by the inviting atmosphere filled with the scent of wood and fresh paint. Each corner showcased beautiful handmade goods, from intricate jewelry to unique home décor items. I loved discovering pieces created by local artisans, each telling its own story. The craftsmanship was exceptional, and I couldn’t resist picking up a few souvenirs to take home. I also learned that the shop often hosts workshops, allowing visitors to engage with the craft community. It was such a delightful experience, immersing myself in the artistic spirit of Paris and supporting independent creators.
Bookmark this iconic spot!
#traveldiaries As I stood outside the Louvre, I noticed a striking structure adorned with long banners that fluttered in the breeze. This is the **Pavilion of the Louvre**, and it serves as a gateway to the museum. The banners caught my eye, each one showcasing current exhibitions and upcoming events inside. They added a vibrant touch, giving a glimpse of the rich cultural experiences awaiting visitors. I felt a sense of excitement as I read about the art and artifacts displayed within, from classical masterpieces to contemporary installations. This structure not only welcomes guests but also creates an inviting atmosphere, making me even more eager to explore the treasures housed inside the museum. It truly enhances the overall experience of visiting this iconic landmark.
Take a break here after your Louvre visit
#traveldiaries After exploring the Louvre, I decided to stop at Le Café Marly, which is right outside, offering an incredible view of the pyramid. The café has such a traditional menu, and I was delighted to see classic French dishes like coq au vin and escargot. I opted for a comforting croque monsieur and paired it with a rich café au lait. The ambiance was charming, with elegant décor that perfectly complemented the stunning surroundings. I loved watching visitors come and go, their excitement palpable as they anticipated their own museum experience. As I savored my meal, I felt truly immersed in the Parisian lifestyle, enjoying delicious food while soaking in the beauty of one of the world’s most famous landmarks.
When the queues are worth the wait!
#travellerswonderland Standing right outside the Louvre Museum, next to the statue of Louis XIV on horseback, I couldn’t help but be amazed by the sheer size of the building. It’s a breathtaking sight, blending history and grandeur. But what really caught my attention was the massive queue stretching all the way to the iconic glass pyramid entrance. No matter what time of day, there’s always a line of eager visitors, waiting to explore the world’s most famous art collection. Even with the wait, there’s something exciting about being part of the crowd, surrounded by the energy of people from all over the world. The anticipation builds as you stand there, knowing you’re about to step into a place filled with centuries of art and history.
A miniature of the arc de triomphe? 👀
#traveldiaries After my visit to the Louvre, I stepped outside and was immediately drawn to the beautiful Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, standing proudly just opposite the museum. It reminded me of the larger Arc de Triomphe, but this one felt more delicate and detailed. Built to celebrate Napoleon’s victories, its arches are adorned with intricate carvings and statues, making it a true masterpiece. The chariot on top gleamed in the sunlight, adding a majestic touch. I loved how it perfectly framed the entrance to the Tuileries Garden behind it. It’s incredible to think of the history it represents, and I couldn’t help but admire its elegance as I stood there, taking in the view after a day at the museum.

"**Sacré-Cœur: Paris's Majestic Beacon on Montmartre**"
#europeanarchitecture
#100waysoftravel
Visiting the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Paris offers a memorable travel experience for several reasons:
1. **Scenic Views**: The basilica is situated on Montmartre Hill, providing one of the best panoramic views of Paris. The climb up the steps or the funicular ride adds to the experience, allowing you to appreciate the cityscape.
2. **Architectural Beauty**: The basilica's Romanesque-Byzantine architecture is impressive, with its white dome and intricate detailing. The design contrasts with the Gothic structures found in other parts of Paris.
3. **Historical and Cultural Significance**: Opened in 1914, Sacré-Cœur is a relatively modern addition to Paris's historical landscape. It reflects a blend of religious and political history, as it was built in response to the Franco-Prussian War.
4. **Artistic Interior**: The interior of the basilica is adorned with beautiful mosaics, including the grand mosaic of Christ in Majesty. The vast, serene space provides a tranquil respite from the bustling city.
5. **Neighborhood Charm**: Montmartre itself is worth exploring, with its charming streets, cafes, and artist studios. The area has a bohemian vibe and offers a glimpse into the artistic history of Paris.
Overall, a visit to Sacré-Cœur is both a visual and cultural treat, combining stunning architecture, historical depth, and vibrant neighborhood life.
Basilica de Sacre Coeur 🇫🇷
#churches
The Basilica de Sacre Coeur is an absolute gem that you can’t miss if you're in Paris! 🗼 Nestled at the highest point of the city in Montmartre, the views alone are worth the visit. The basilica itself is free to enter, which is amazing given its beauty. There’s a small fee (about 7 euros) if you want to climb up to the dome, but trust me, the panoramic view of Paris is totally worth every penny! 🌆 I went up just before sunset, and watching the city lights twinkle as the sun dipped below the horizon was magical. 🌅
The interior of Sacre Coeur is equally breathtaking. The ceiling mosaics, especially the one of Christ in Glory, are incredibly detailed and vibrant. It’s a peaceful space despite the number of visitors. I spent some time sitting in the pews, just soaking up the atmosphere and admiring the architecture. 🕊️
After visiting the basilica, I wandered around the Montmartre district, which is full of charming cobbled streets, art shops, and cozy cafes. Don’t miss the nearby Place du Tertre, where local artists sell their work and offer portrait sketches. 🎨 It’s like stepping into a different era, far removed from the hustle and bustle of modern Paris.

The world famous bookstore in Paris
#bookstoresandgalleries #100WaysOfTravel
Shakespeare and Co has so much history, especially for American expat writers. The original location founded by Sylvia Beach no longer exists after the German occupation of Paris during WWII. A lot of writers frequented this store Hemingway, Fitzgerald and James Joyce. This current location was actually opened by George Whitman and pays homage to Beach’s original store
The Shakespeare and Co Book of Interviews was recently published to include interviews with writers and thinkers. Hemingway’s A Movable Feast also references this famous bookstore. You’ll find both copies of these books here.
It’s pretty easy to find this bookstore - you can’t miss the queue of people lining in to enter on the bank of the Seine. To be fair, this line didn’t exist when I first visited Paris over a decade ago…Although this is a bit of a double edged sword in the sense that it’s very touristy now and you’re probably not going to get the calm book browsing experience of most bookstores, Shakespeare and Co did fall into challenging times during the COVID-19 pandemic and almost closed down. I personally think their selection of books is great, and this store is worth a stop to experience a piece of literary history. There’s also an upstairs area with a reading room to explore, and aspiring writers used to sleep there in exchange for helping at the bookstore.
Staff is also pretty friendly. If you purchase a book, you can get it stamped with the store name too
The city of love and the city of 🍷 !!
Paris!! The city of ❤️ and the city of 🍷. Usually, when I travel , I try my best to save and use public transport all the time , and also can drop by whenever I like and spend my time there . So , once I reach to Train station, I bought one day transport ticket at vending machine(It costs me 8.45€ ,Zone 1&2, that’s almost cover city area). Took metro and headed to hotel . Checked in , leave the bag there and walked out to explore the city .
At first , I was so disappointed and confuse for their metro system ( so far that’s the fastest and the most convenient way of getting around town without traffic🤭) . But , after a few wrong platform and wrong directions, different type of trains , end of the day I become expert to their metro system ( proudly said 🤣🤣) . And observed all the attractions area ( soooo soooo crowded) . Evening back to hotel, looked for dinner and chill until I sleep . See you all on the other side of the 🌎!!

Olympics Paris and Louvre
#paristrip
I had the incredible opportunity to visit Paris for the Olympics, and today’s adventures were truly unforgettable.
This morning, I strolled along the picturesque Seine River, taking in the beautiful views and the vibrant atmosphere of the city. As I walked, I passed by the site of the previous Olympics’ opening ceremony. It was fascinating to see where all the excitement and celebration had taken place.
My day culminated with a visit to the world-renowned Louvre Museum. The vast collection of art and artifacts, including the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, was absolutely breathtaking. Exploring the museum’s halls, I felt a deep appreciation for the rich cultural heritage preserved within its walls.#paris_olympic #paris
Paris bucket list
I'm in love with Paris and here is a list of some things I enjoyed doing there:
1. Relax in Jardin du Luxembourg: read a book, chat with a friend, eat some macarons or just do some people watching.
2. Go for breakfast or drinks to Cafe de Flore. Even though it is a very touristy place, the atmosphere there is amazing.
3. Get some cute souvenirs in Marin Montagut store on 48 Rue Madame.
4. Have lunch in Ralph's, request to sit outside. The ambiance is great. Even though it is an American restaurant, its atmosphere perfectly suits Paris.
5. Shakespeare and Company bookstore should be a must! Go there in the morning as soon as they open and enjoy nearly crowds-free store.
6. Choose one of the location to take pictures with HER - the Eiffel tower. I chose Rue de l'Université and could get a perfect view with not that many people.
7. Have dinner in La Fontaine de Mars. It is a small restaurant with simple but delicious food!
8. Walk Paris streets and just enjoy this amazing city!

The Eiffel Tower: An Iconic Symbol of Paris
#loves_paris #eiffeltower #historicallandmarks
Soaring above the City of Lights, the Eiffel Tower is more than just a structure; it's a symbol of romance, innovation, and Parisian spirit. Standing tall on the Champ de Mars, this wrought-iron lattice marvel is an architectural masterpiece that has captured hearts worldwide.
Designed by Gustave Eiffel and constructed for the 1889 World's Fair, the tower was initially met with criticism. However, it quickly became an adored icon, a testament to human ingenuity and engineering prowess. Its intricate design, combined with its imposing height, creates a breathtaking silhouette that dominates the Paris skyline. Whether you're gazing up at it from the Seine or ascending its heights for panoramic views, the Eiffel Tower is an unforgettable experience that encapsulates the magic of Paris.
The Eiffel Tower is a Parisian landmark located on the Champ de Mars, a sprawling public park in the heart of the city. Its position offers stunning views of the Seine River and the city's iconic skyline. Situated in the 7th arrondissement, the tower is easily accessible by public transportation and is a central point for exploring the French capital.
