Sri Lanka's 🇱🇰 internet celebrity landmark, Ambuluwawa Tower, is located in Gampola, 3 kilometers from the city, and is considered one of the most beautiful towers in Sri Lanka.
Ambuluwawa is Sri Lanka's first multi-religious worship site, with a Buddhist temple, Hindu temple, Muslim mosque, and a Christian church located at the peak of this mountain. People of all religions come here to worship, and this place is a symbol of religious harmony in Sri Lanka.
Amubuluwawa has an average temperature of 21-24 degrees throughout the year, which is cooler compared to the heat of Colombo. As a mountain city, Kandy has a pleasant climate and a beautiful natural environment.
Amubuluwawa was built with a special meaning, with each level representing different crops: fruits, vegetables, and also symbolizing the Sri Lankan people's emphasis on agriculture and their good wishes and desire for a bountiful harvest.
Reaching the top offers a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of Gampola, which is a great challenge for those with acrophobia (I am one of them, and it was very difficult to climb to the top with the encouragement and protection of friends). However, it is well worth a visit, as it is a spiritual cleansing experience with exceptionally beautiful scenery.
The first floor of the tower sells handicrafts and souvenirs, and the cafe at the foot of the mountain is highly recommended. The coffee and desserts are very good, and it's also a great place for taking photos and checking in. Remember to bring a jacket or scarf 🧣 when visiting Amubuluwawa. For accommodation, you can choose a boutique hotel at the foot of the mountain or opt to stay in Kandy city (20-30 minutes away).
