Gornergrat Bahn is reachable with the Gornergrat Railway. The pricing of the railway is vary depending on the route and season. With a Swiss Travel Pass, you will get to enjoy a 50% discount. It is recommended to wear water proof shoes. They also offer plenty of activities such as hiking, sledding, skiing, mountain biking and more. You may check their website for more information. I want to travel to Hong Kong for a different culture and experience.

Everyone does know of chocolate called Tobolone. The picture in the package of this chocolate is the matterhorn. no one will bot see this picture before. This place is a quite small town with homey feeling of nice people. The restaurant was very homey called stadel restaurant. The matterhorn is so very beautiful. It is very depend on the weather of that day. If the weather is nice and the cloud is not very cloudy, you will see Matterhorn with the clear picture. one time in the life should be here. It so beautiful and so speechless. The weather was about minus ten but it very fun over there. It will be the place that you would like to come back again

Breathtaking view of Matterhorn

Went up to Gornergrat Bahn with CHF88 since we have the Swiss Pass. The view was definitely breathtaking. We were amazed by Switzerland nature. We spent about 4 hours just to appreciate the scenery. Yes, it’s very cold so be prepared to wear thick clothes, heat-tech and gloves. Best if you have a pair of snow shoes to prevent you from falling. So there are 2 popular mountains that many tourists will visit, one is the Jungfraujoch which is the tallest mountain in Europe and another is the matterhorn where the top of the mountain has a horned shaped look. Also, there are 2 locations to view the mighty gorgeously beautiful matterhorn, where I believe the best view point is from Gornergrat itself as this place has an unobstructed view of the peak from afar. #tripaway What an amazing views on the Swiss alps. We went in the afternoon, it was nice and quit and the sky was more clear then in the morning, from the top we walked to the riffelsee, and took the train back from there to Zermatt. Fantastic experience #tripaway

From the train station, I came to the viewing platform, and the scenery of Matterhorn in front of us suddenly fascinated us. Although the sky is not as clear as I hoped, the clouds cover the triangle of Matterhorn, but we can see the whole piece of mountain snow and the sky, just like a postcard! It's really exaggerated in Switzerland, and all these beautiful views are very easy and will make you feel very unreal. Next to the observation deck, we also found a classical and intimate chapel. Walking inside, you can immediately feel a sacred atmosphere on the head. I think it must be something to remind me. In fact, the chapel on this mountain was originally built for people who had been struggling to climb the Matterhorn all over the world. Now, just as we go to the beach to make the soul feel free, facing the mountain, we are to face it with a very awesome heart. Going up the path, there is a 360-degree viewing platform. It is amazing to see this full circle of scenery. How can there be such a beautiful place! The sky is so close, it is in my arms.

#wintertrip 📍Gornergrat, Switzerland 🇨🇭 One of the must visit places once in a lifetime, the Gornergrat! With an altitude of 3,089m, Gornergrat offers the majestic and breathtaking view of Matterhorn! We were very lucky to have a clear day with great visibility and the views were just out of the world! Switzerland is literally heaven on earth! While Matterhorn is the main attraction, the glaciers surrounding Gornergrat were mesmerising too! We took the train ride from Zermatt to the peak of Gornergrat, smooth and scenic ride, we love it! The top station has a café, gift shop, a small church, a few view points of the peak and for pictures! We spent around 2-3hours at the peak taking photos, taking in the views and had our lunch at the café! In Zermatt, the 'City of Glaciers', take the cogwheel train all the way up the mountain, to the Gornergrat at an altitude of 3089 meters. Today, I enjoyed the beauty of the glaciers, it was also a day 'dominated' by the Matterhorn.

Why not take a train to Gornergrat?

When you are in Zermatt, try to ride on a local train to Gornergrat, a look out point at over 3000 meters above the sea level, here you will be able to take a nice picture of the fame Matterhorn at a close proximity.

In one's lifetime, one must visit the Swiss snow and ice paradise 🇨🇭.

Recommended accommodation in Zermatt town, Valais, Switzerland (Pic 345). In the town, you can see the Matterhorn, a mountain peak shaped like a pyramid, which is particularly spectacular (Pic 1236). The hotel we stayed in was the CERVO Mountain Boutique Resort, where you can see the Matterhorn from your room (Pic 7). Then you can take a small train in the town to Gornergrat viewing platform. This place not only offers a close-up view of the Matterhorn, but also skiing 🎿!! There are many stations in between that offer different ski slopes for you to choose from. After playing tired at night and coming down the mountain, you can take a walk in the town of Zermatt. Private cars are not allowed in the town, so transportation mainly relies on walking, public transportation, and hotel taxis. The entire residential area is very compact, and there are also many places to eat~ You can try the most famous Swiss cheese hot pot 🫕. Compared to the crowdedness of Shao Nv Feng, there are much fewer people at this ski resort. Shao Nv Feng is really too crowded, with average experience and low cost-effectiveness for going up the mountain. The entire skiing atmosphere in Zermatt is very strong, and most people are carrying skiing equipment and preparing to go up the mountain.

I’m sure you have all heard about the 5 Lakes trail but have you heard of the trail with the best scenic views of the Matterhorn? This hike from Gornergrat to Riffelberg has to be in one of your bucketlist! You will be able to trek alongside with the magnificent view of Matterhorn at every step that yiu take. 🤩 All you have to do is to get a train ticket up to Gornergrat from Zermatt main station and you may slowly trek down. Do note that it may be a little slippery on rainy/snowy days so do bring proper trekking shoes! Once you have reached Riffelsee lake, sit back and enjoy with a cup of hot drink or even cheers to a shot of Gin that you can get from the gin shop at Gornergrat station 🍸 #switzerland #matterhorn #zermatt #trekking
