Thanatsri Hatyai
Thanatsri Hatyai is located at 68 Thumnoonvithi Road, 90110, Hatyai District, and is open daily from 0700-1930. It is around 350 meters 4 minutes walk from Lee Garden Plaza Hotel.
Thanatsri Hatyai has been famous since the 60s, it is a great place for breakfast, if you love a bowl of noodles in the morning, it will not disappoint you.
I had ordered the egg noodles with mixed type soup, a mee hoon soup with beef and the popiah.
The popiah which is drizzled with a sweet chili sauce, the noodle soup can add the chili flakes and fish sauce to make it more spicy.

Betong Chicken Rice
Betong Chicken Rice is located at 30 Kimpradit Road, Hat Yai District, and is open daily from 0630-1400. It is around 500 meters 6 minutes walk from Lee Garden Plaza Hotel.
The highlight of this famous chicken rice place in Hat Yai is their aromatic chicken-shaped rice. Thai chicken rice is slightly different from the version found in Singapore, and is not as flavourful and oily.
Betong's rice still has a mild fragrance and the chicken is decent.

Qing Jie Restaurant
Qing Jie Restaurant is located at Thanon Lamai Songkraw 1, Hatyai District, and is open Tuesday to Sunday from 0730-1400. It is around 10 minutes 850 meters walk from Lee Garden Plaza Hotel.
Qing Jie Restaurant is one of the most popular stalls with the braised pork leg, crispy roast pork and pig organ soup.
I had ordered their signature dishes pig organ soup, crispy roast pork and a cup of iced coffee. Their soup is not so peppery, inside the soup there is lean meat, belly, pig blood, intestines with salted vegetables and enjoy it with a bowl of rice. The crackling fatty roasted pork was crisp in texture, is a must try when you visit here.

Pa-Ad Fresh Milk
Let's go for a drink and light bite at night for better sleep, Pa-Ad fresh milk is located at Chee Uthit Road, Hat Yai District, and is open daily from 1800-0030. It is only around 400 meters 5 minutes walk from Lee Garden Plaza Hotel.
A popular supper spot for many local Thais and tourists, the menu is quite extensive, you can choose either hot or iced drinks, bread either steam or toast with kaya, butter or jams... and some BBQ sticks.
I had ordered their steam bread and kaya, and a cup of hot milk. The soft steam bread is a good combination with the rich and not so sweet creamy kaya, finish with a cup of warm fresh milk.

Hatyai's ultimate braised pork leg rice
Non-halal
Braised pork leg and rice (khao kha moo ข้าวขาหมู) is one of the standard Thai street food dishes. One of the ultimate places to eat Thai Chinese braised pork leg and rice in Hatyai is a discreet small shop a little away from town centre named Kha Moo Head Hom
Getting there (2 branches, near to each other):
1) Raj Uthit road branch next to Marina Hotel Opposite is the Thai Hotel. Open 09:30-19:30 daily
2) Raj Uthit road branch (District 8) opposite TOT Open 08:30-15:00 daily
There are a number of different things you can order. If you’d just like an individual portion of rice topped with tender braised pork leg and garnishing, you can just order khao kha moo
But if you’re ready to take on the ultimate Thai braised pork leg experience, you’ll want to order the entire leg – kha moo
It literally just slid off the bone effortlessly, and it was so tender, yet not mushy. The taste wasn’t too sweet, but it was mild with a pleasant aroma of star anise, and I’m sure an arsenal of Chinese herbs and spices that went into the braised juice.
Absolutely incredibly good.
The contrast of the sweet meat, with the harsh vinegar, chilies, and garlic, complemented each other so well.

Thai Snacks Along the Khlong Hae Street
Thailand is known for its street food, and one of the most popular Thai snacks you can get along the Khlong Hae floating market is grilled squid with green chilli sauce. The squid is grilled to perfection and sliced into bite-sized pieces so that you can easily eat them on the go. It even tastes better when you dip these pieces in the green chilli dipping sauce, it gives you an extra fiery kick that takes the grilled squid to a whole other level. There were also other interesting snacks like fried crabs, colourful sushi, Thai crepe snacks, green mango slices, various chips and many more.
Address: Khlong Hae Floating Market. 14/2 Soi Pracha U Thit, Khlong Hae, Songkhla 90110
Highlights: Grilled Squid with Green Chilli Sauce
Rating: 4/5

Meet Coffee Cafe
We were feeling very tired after a long day. Thankfully, I found this new café, Sin Yor Rista at Hatyai. Owned by a doctor, the café serves very good coffee. Beside
l the usual latte and cappuccino, they have a Straits 7 (THB 120) which consists of 7 unique components — coffee, condensed milk, brown sugar, warm milk, salt and pepper.

There are almost no sights in Hat Yai. If something interesting can be found, then only in the neighboring city of Songkhla, which is the cultural capital of the province. Of the interesting things in the city itself, one can distinguish:
Khlong Hae Floating Market outside the city. Nothing special, a simple little market with boats moored to the shore, from which trade is carried out. The prices are very low.
Hat Yai Temple (Wat Hat Yai Nai or Wat Mahatthamongkalaram). The main temple of the city with a large statue of the reclining Buddha (35 meters, according to some estimates, the third largest in the world).
City amusement park Hat Yai Park. A large amusement park located outside the city. There is a cable car, an ice sculpture exhibition, a flower park, a bird park, an observatory, a pond, a food court and food stalls.

MEMORIES BEFORE COVID19 - Hatyai
About Hat Yai
A dense urban stopover where Thailand and Malaysia meet, Hat Yai exudes the international energy of a border hub. Though short on sights and historic charm, its shopping centers and floating market provide anything a modern traveler could ask for.
Is Hat Yai worth a visit???? ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
✅ It's not as famous as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Krabi Province or the beautiful islands like Koh Samui, Phuket, Phi Phi, and Lipe. But it's definitely a place worth visiting, especially if you are heading to South Thailand to visit other destinations.
How do I get to Hatyai?
🍁 Take the train from Sungai Kolok to Hatyai
📌 Hat Yai is in a region that has lots of Muslims and ethnic Malays so it is in a different kind of Thailand. Some people will feel that it is great to visit someplace which is off the track beaten by Western tourist hordes. However, Hat Yai gets plenty of visitors across the nearby border with Malaysia.#malaysia #hatyai #kelantan #2020

a.k.a Taj Mahal
A short vacay was the experiences.. Visiting Hatyai for the 3rd time and had a chance to see the incredible Mosque in Songkhla. Such a beautiful architecture. Other than that, I visited at the floating market a.k.a Khlong Hae Floating Market.. I tried a bowl of Mee Celup bought from the seller from the boat. And last, I had a chance to try a local breakfast at Roti De Forest.. I will definitely visit again and again.. #awesomepic #deliciousfood #hatyai #love travel

Richmann Resort Hotel Hatyai
If I could give 10 stars instead of 5 I would. From the moment you park, the staff is there waiting to lend a helping hand. The check in went smoothly. The place is spotless and the rooms are beautiful!
That evening, there was a swarm of light bugs that were everywhere. The staff took care to spray the outside walls and remove the insects that had gotten in our room.
The next day, as we were enjoying breakfast, we decided at the last minute to stay another night.

The street though is quite diverse and you can also meet new houses and old colonial buildings. It is quite interesting for those who love history. I advise you to visit this city, there are a lot of bars and local restaurants. The residents are quite friendly. This place is not like Thailand at all, as Malaysia is nearby.

walking street in hatyai
If you would love to visit ASEAN Trade Market for some street shopping but it’s Monday evening and the bazaar is closed, Lee Gardens Hatyai Walking Street is a good alternative.Of course, there are dissimilarities and many of the apparel sold here are Chinese products, not Thai. Well, something is better than nothing. At least, one can still buy Thai street food here.Lee Gardens Hatyai Walking Street used to be short weekend events but if I am not mistaken, it is a permanent fixture now. This is Hat Yai’s answer to Melaka’s Jonker Walk and Ipoh’s Gerbang Malam. During my visit to Lee Gardens Hatyai Walking Street, there were also street performances by students soliciting donations, as well as a section to take photographs with small animals, for a fee.
