Victoria Peak Visit by Bus
My 3rd visit to Victoria Peak was quite different this time – I decided to take bus 15 for the journey. After experiencing crowded trams on previous visits, my family and I opted for this alternative route. The bus departed from Exchange Square, just across from Central MTR, and took us to the terminus inside Peak Galleria. The bus fare was a reasonable HK$11.50 for about 40-minute journey.
For the best views, be sure to sit on the upper deck of the bus at any side of the windows. Surprisingly, the journey was smooth, and the road wasn't as winding as we had imagined. As the bus ascended, we were treated to breathtaking landscapes that we might have missed if we had taken the tram.
What's even better is that we didn't have to pay any entrance fees but still enjoyed stunning views at the peak. Our timing, between 5.30 pm and 6.45 pm, allowed us to witness the transition from dusk to night, complete with the refreshing breeze.
Looking ahead, my wish for the next trip is to hike up to the peak, possibly starting from the old peak road or commencing the journey from Central MTR, while I'm still capable of hiking.
This is a Must-Visit in your itinerary when you are in Hong Kong.
Side note: I touched down at noon. Had lunch and checked into my hotel near Mongkok MTR around 3 pm. Then headed out to Victoria Peak.
