Hungarian Parliament Building - Budapest
The Hungarian Parliament Building is one of the most iconic & grandiose architectural landmarks in Hungary. It serves as the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, which is the country’s legislative body.
Located along the bank of Danube River, the building dominates the cityscape with its impressive Neo-Gothic design. This 18,000 square metres building is constructed began in 1885. The tower reaches a height of 96m, making it one of the tallest buildings in Budapest.
The interior of the building is equally impressive, featuring lavish decors, ornamental ceilings & exquisite stained glass windows. Visitors can book a guided tour to explore the inside, which I’m sure you will be very much amazed as I did.
You can get here by taking metro & alighting at Kossuth Lajos tér station (on M2 metro line).

Hungarian Parliament Building tour
Had a tour inside Parliament of Budapest Hungary. It is a notable landmark of Hungary and located on Kossuth Square in the Pest side of the city. The building is built on the Gothic Revival style. The parliament is also symmetrical from inside with two identical parliament halls on the opposing sides of building. There are many sculptures on the walls. The facade displays statues of various Hungarian rulers. There is hexadecagonal 16 sided central hall with huge chambers adjoining it, the Lower and Upoer House. Overall, it is a good tour to understand some Hungarian history.

The iconic building in Budapest
This stunning and magnificent building is situated on the banks of the River Danube. It is probably the most iconic and beautiful building structure in Budapest, Hungary. We only viewed the exterior due to our limited time before boarding our river cruise. The design is based partly on the Houses of Parliament in London and its construction was undertaken in the early 19th century. Imposing building which is a ‘must-see' place when we are in this vibrant and historic city. This lovely building particularly stunning at night when lit up. My trip with my parents was so Grace and meaningful. Will visit you again soon. #budapest #hungary

THE MAGNIFICENT PARLIAMENT
The splendor of this neo-Gothic parliament building is truly obvious from the outside. On the banks of the Danube, the House of Parliament can be seen magnificently displaying its splendor. Since 1987, the building has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Danube Banks.
The Hungarian Parliament, which is lavishly ornamented both inside and out, was inspired by London's Houses of Parliament, and was built in a Neo-Gothic style with Renaissance and Baroque flourishes. It was created on the 1000th anniversary of Hungary's establishment, making it the world's third largest parliament.

The Hungarian Parliament Building
The Hungarian Parliament Building, also known as the Parliament of Budapest after its location, is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, a notable landmark of Hungary, and a popular tourist destination in Budapest. It is situated on Kossuth Square in the Pest side of the city, on the eastern bank of the Danube. It was designed by Hungarian architect Imre Steindl in neo-Gothic style and opened in 1902. It has been the largest building in Hungary since its completion. Budapest was united from three cities in 1873, namely Buda, Óbuda, and Pest.[8] Seven years later the Diet resolved to establish a new, representative parliament building, expressing the sovereignty of the nation. The building was planned to face the Danube River. An international competition was held, and Imre Steindl emerged as the victor; the plans of two other competitors were later also realized in the form of the Ethnographic Museum and the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture, both facing the Parliament Building. Construction from the winning plan was started in 1885, and the building was inaugurated on the presumed 1,000th anniversary of the country in 1896. It was not fully completed until 1904. The architect of the building first went blind and then later, died before its completion. #urbanexplorer
