High Speed Train from Shenzhen to Hong Kong
A Swift Journey Across Borders
We were at Shenzhen North Railway Station, ready for an adventure. The sleek, silver bullet train awaited, promising to whisk us away to Hong Kong in mere minutes.
The platform buzzed with anticipation. Passengers queued up, clutching their tickets and passports. We stepped onto the train, greeted by plush seats and panoramic windows. The train hummed to life, and we were off.
The train accelerated smoothly, reaching speeds that blurred the landscape outside. Fields transformed into skyscrapers, and before I knew it, we were gliding across the border. The view of Shenzhen Bay was breathtaking—a tapestry of blue water and distant islands.
The train eased into Hong Kong West Kowloon Railway Station. I disembarked, feeling like a time traveler. The station’s modern architecture welcomed me. Immigration was a breeze; a quick stamp in my passport, and I was officially in Hong Kong.

In one sentence, prove that you have been to Hong Kong
🌈 Hong Kong is located in the southern part of China, facing the South China Sea to the east and bordering the Pearl River Estuary to the north.
🔜📸 It is composed of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon Peninsula, and the New Territories, with each of these areas situated on the sea, peninsula, and land respectively, forming the diverse geographical features of Hong Kong.
✅ Hong Kong is known for its impressive urban skyline, but it also boasts a wealth of natural landscapes. Skyscrapers coexist harmoniously with country parks and beaches!
🔜📸 Hong Kong Disneyland is an ideal choice for families, 🔺 while Ocean Park offers a rich marine experience.
🔺 The night view of Victoria Harbour is enchanting, 🔺 and the Kowloon Walled City and Wong Tai Sin Temple showcase the city's history and culture.

Kedai Mendoan Sego Layah, the authentic Indonesian food in Hung Hom
When you are in the Kowloon area and looking for Indonesian cuisine, definitely Kedai Mendoan Sego Layah is the restaurant you should go to. The restaurant offers wide-ranged Indonesian dishes, drinks, and snacks at affordable prices! The signature is homemade ‘tempe mendoan’ - fried soybean cake in spiced flour. Super yummy to eat while hot. Apart from this signature, you can taste other authentic Indonesian dishes. My favorites are ayam woku (spicy chicken from North Sulawesi) and ayam tangkap (fried chicken from Aceh).
The restaurant serves delivery, take-away, and dine-in dishes.

Insadong restaurant in To Kwa Wan Road Kowloon Hong Kong, sells Korean foods. You can chose barbecue menus, stone pot or rice set. If you come more than two people, you can try barbecue set with fresh meats for two to five people. I chose stone pot with beef for my dinner here. It came with free Kimchi, salad and soup. The price ranged between 100 to 150 for one person.

Stop by at Uplace- the slow living dining place in To Kwa Wan
If you are in To Kwa Wan, an old area near the former Hong Kong airport Kai Tak, and you get a chance to stroll around To Kwa Wan Market, there is a new place nearby called Uplace. This place is the latest dining center that offers a slow living environment as you can relax in a green setting while eating. Some restaurants in this place allow you to dine in during lunch or dinner time.

Something warm in cooler weather
Clay pot rice is a typical Hong Kong dish that's eaten in the winter time or when the weather is chilly.
The rice is fragrant and topped off with different types of juicy meats, which adds flavor to the rice below. You can add some sweet soy sauce to add more flavor. At the bottom of the dish is a layer of crunchy rice that's best saved for last.
Claypot rice is usually found in no frills restaurants, which adds to the HK flavor! Grab this on a colder day to keep warm!

Malay Ba kut teh in Hong Kong
If you like Malaysian/Singaporean food, particularly if you missed Malaysian ba kut teh, you can go to Malaca Cuisine in Hong Kong. I like the ba kut teh here, it is taste fresh and yummy. The portion of the food is big, can be shared with a friend.
Malaca Cuisine small restaurant can be found easily in Hong Kong. I went to the one in To Kwa Wan Road. One of the good things about this restaurant is its ambience that offer warm and peace. The restaurant is not too spacious, but not crowded at all. I always enjoy my meals here while listening to the Indonesian songs that the restaurant always play it on!
The price of ba kut teh and other dishes are reasonable!

Brunch at Soft Opening Subway in To Kwa Wan
Subway outlet is spread over many locations in Hong Kong. One of them is the newly opened To Kwa Wan. Located opposite the To Kwa Wan Market, or around a 3-minute walk from MTR To Kwa Wan exit B, the outlet is a strategic place to grab breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner on the go or dine-in.
Like other Subway, the sandwiches, hotdogs, or burgers with different fillings and toppings are tasty and fresh at reasonable prices. I came here at its soft opening and enjoyed a 6-inch Turkey special burger with barbecue sauce for my brunch.

Little Local Bakery with Durian Donut Signature
Are you a durian lover? Have you tested a donut with durian filling in Hong Kong? I have tried one in Sam Po Kong, Kowloon, which gave me an outstanding experience with its bite. Other fillings, such as dark chocolate and caramel, are equally tasty and fresh.
It’s Lily’s bakery -a small local bakery- that sells donuts with different fillings, and I consider the one with durian as its signature.
As the bakery serves only takeaway and delivery, and it needs a while to prepare the donut, you can call ahead or stick around for 15-20 minutes for buying donuts. However, you can grab freshly baked bread, cakes, and pastries directly.
The bakery located nearby Mikiki mall. It is quite famous as people queue up to buy the products.
Tips:
Come between 10 am to 4 pm if you want to buy donuts. It usually runs out at 5 pm ahead.

The Best Scrambled Egg in a Traditional Hong Kong Restaurant
When my friend recommended scrambled egg to try at Australia Dairy Company, first thing came to my mind was this restaurant must be offering Australian dishes. Surprisingly, this is a traditional Hong Kong food, Cha Chaan Teng (tea restaurant). The name ‘Australia Dairy’ was given simply because the founder of this restaurant had worked for an Australian Farm in the 1940s.
My friend was right. I tried scrambled eggs with spaghetti for lunch, and I should admit that it is high-quality scrambled egg I ever tried in the city. Supper yummy and juicy! I guess, this is one of the reasons why this restaurant is always crowded even though there are not many menu options to choose.
Address: G/F, 47-49? Parkes Street Jordan (2 minutes from Jordan MTR exit C2).
Opening Hours: 07:30 to 23:00
Closed every Thursday!

Jinshan Country Park, known as "monkey Mountain“! I heard people say that Ma Liu is like an abbot. He will grab every bag, jumping and screaming, scaring many people. However, Ma Liushan in Kowloon is easy to travel and has beautiful scenery, and you can pass 4 reservoirs at one time, such as Shilibei Reservoir, or Kowloon Reservoir with a history of 100 years, etc. It is actually a good place for outings. Sole (Kowloon Bay)
📣 New restaurant alert in @megabox_hk!
Exuding an elegant floral ambience, Sole’s fancy (but affordable) set menu makes it a great date spot for special occasions, which is why we came here to celebrate the holidays away from the crowd 🎄🎅🏻🎁
[Soup]
Full of sweet caramelized onions and a mushy Brioche baguette with melted cheese, the light yet hearty French onion soup was my personal fave 🧅
The daily soup was a creamy truffle mushroom bisque sprinkled with parsley - great for dipping the warm sourdough bread 🍞
[Starter]
A refreshing appetizer, the burrata cheese with mellow tomatoes, basil and thyme oil was definitely swoon-worthy!
The chicken liver pate with port wine jelly had a melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich flavor, but we needed to pair each bite with some sourdough to neutralize the saltiness
[Main Course]
The sous vide sirloin steak well-exceeded our expectations! With a medium doneness level, the tender meat was evenly cooked to perfection. Loved the buttery pomme mousseline on the side too
The confit salmon was wonderfully soft and moist, contrasting starkly with the crunchy potatoes and green beans under the beurre blanc foam. The yuzu bits on top added a slight tanginess that further elevated the flavor.
[Dessert]
Under a layer of crisped golden sugar crust, the creamy custard base went well with the vanilla ice cream, strawberries and nuts - aesthetically presented and absolutely delicious!
The chocolate panna cotta with spiced pepitas was a little too bitter for my liking (not a fan of dark choco), but I still enjoyed the velvety smooth texture
[Drinks]
Tea or coffee was included in the set, so we opted for a warm cup of Blue Flower Earl Grey Tea and Mochaccino to end our meal

Ho Man Tin Park
Just 5 mins walk from Ho Man Tin station of MTR Tuen Ma Line, it’s the Ho Man Tin Park, where the children’s playground is right in front of the sport centre.
This park is up the hill, behind Oi Man Plaza, across a secondary school. Separate into 2 areas for one is age 2-5 and another 5 and above. In between are benches for resting. This is probably the only playground that’s fully shaded with shading cloth! We were there in the morning , close to 11am and it’s a sunny day, but kids are covered.
Play equipment for elder kids includes slides, monkey bars and climbing walls: where it’s easier versions at the younger kids side, with 2 spring horses. My kids spent most time on monkey bars and climbing walls, it’s tad bit boring for them, but we still spend a good 45 mins at the playground 😂 I like that it’s shaded and clean.
Shaded: Fully
Enclosed: Not really, but it’s in the sports centre compound which there’s only one way out via the gate
Toilet and refreshments: Sports centre has toilets and vending machines
Mommy : ⭐️ ⭐️
My Kids : ❤️ ❤️
How to get there:
- Tuen Ma Line and get off at Ho Man Tin station. Exit A3, lift up to footbridge and walk towards the direction of Sports Centre

Susan Chicken Rice
Whenever we pass by @sushanjifansusan, there always seems to be a bunch of people outside the restaurant either waiting to dine in or get their takeaway orders, so we came a bit earlier than the dinner crowd to try out their Singapore and Malaysian dishes 🇸🇬🇲🇾
[Hainan Half Chicken Set]
This classic set came with a bowl of soothing winter melon soup and fragrant oil rice (or plain rice if you want to skip the chicken fat). We were feeling pretty hungry, so we devoured all the succulent tender chicken in no time 🐔 Apart from the boneless pieces, there was also a juicy chicken wing that I enjoyed dipping into the sweet soy sauce. The ginger scallion sauce was on the mild side while the chilli sauce was too spicy for my delicate taste buds.
[Free Range Chicken Rice with White Pepper Bak Kut Teh ]
The free range chicken was topped with fried shallots for more flavor, so essentially there was no need to dip any of the condiments. The cucumber slices and bean sprouts added a crunchy texture to the dish 🥒
As for the white pepper bak kut teh, it was rather pungent and spicy, but less medicinal and herbal than the Malaysian-style version. The tofu puffs had absorbed the rich fragrant broth that was super filling😋
[Iced Young Coconut]
Don’t think I’ve really been keeping track, but this is most probably one of the best young coconuts I’ve ever had! True to its name, the sweet coconut water really was ice cold, making it a refreshing drink perfect for a hot summer night 🥥
[Milo Dinosaur]
If you’re wondering, the ‘dinosaur’ refers to a big scoop of undissolved Milo powder added on top of the iced chocolate malt drink. And if you look closely, you’ll see that there’s even a pinch of colorful sprinkles in this one. We were quite impressed by the rich flavor that was not utterly sugary 🥤

Lai Chi Kok Phase 3
If you’ve been to Lai Chi Kok Park.. it’s a huge park! Aside from the popular playground near the swimming pool; and the less known one at Meifoo station’s Podium (refer to previous post:
https://www.facebook.com/113508473635882/posts/280781416908586/), we found another one after passing Ling Nan Garden, it’s called Lai Chi Kok Park Phase 3 on map.
There are 3 areas right next to each other, I like this design because it means less crowded, kids don’t all get stuck at the same place. And each with their specialty:
A is a big playground with bridges and runways, 3 slides side by side and monkey bars.
B is higher, like a rocket with twirling slide.
C with a ship theme with simple slides, balancing tools to walk or hip on (kids pretend walking on the rock in a river where crocodile might jump out) and a rather wide climbing walls.
There’s a swing area, right next to C which I didn’t take picture because my kids are too busy running and playing around ABC. They spent most time at C though, with a lot of role playing pirate game and climbing the wall.
Enclosed: No
Shaded: No
Refreshments: Vending Machine and food stall (it’s closed when I’m there)
Toilet: Public toilet

Introducing Most Exciting Place in The World: Kow Loon
#localtourguides
I wanna guide you in my favorite lication in the world.
Kowloon is always on the move. A multinational crowd fills the streets morning and evening and brings fragments of phrases in all possible languages, the smells of Europe and Asia mix in a mad dance.
Who has been to China and remembers the aromas of pharmacies (with herbs and roots) will understand me)
Nathan Road is certainly familiar to many who have been to Hong Kong or have only heard/seen it in the movies.
It is the main transport artery of Kowloon and the busiest street.
It originates in a popular tourist area near the Tsim Sha Tsui metro station, not far from the famous Hong Kong landmark the Alley of Stars.
Nearby there is an Art Museum, a History Museum (you can read about it in my review
The Soul Museum of Hong Kong) and there you can see the cute exhibits.
And of course, the very atmosphere of the streets, through alleys, back streets with the inside of the city and touching scenes of everyday life of the city has a special value for me.
Here, in the evenings, grandfathers play board games in their courtyards, walk their birds in cages.
Of course, in order to feel the city (not the glossy cover), you need to look into such places. For example, the Bird Market .
There are so many skyscrapers here, but not as sleek as in the newer part of the city.
Kowloon in the evening is interesting for the Night Market, the light of neon signs, and a large number of people of all races and cultures. There is a place for everyone here.
For some, Kowloon may be about noise, hustle and old buildings... the anthill is not very attractive.
And for me, he is full of charm in his unique and vivid kaleidoscope of impressions.
I miss Kowloon and am always glad to see you again.
I hope you will like it too.

Staying at this hotel in Hong Kong is the right choice!
Staying at this hotel in Hong Kong is the right choice: Kerry Hotel, Kowloon, Hong Kong
What first attracted me to this hotel was the photo of this sea view room, which has a great view. It was raining when I went, and the view from the window on a cloudy day is also uniquely beautiful.
We booked a Deluxe Sea View King Room with access to the Executive Lounge, and the service was quite good! You can check in and out at the Executive Lounge, as shown in picture seven.
Picture eleven shows the afternoon tea area in the hotel's Executive Lounge, where the sea view is really nice! Overall, the hotel's meals are without fault.
Because we went out at night, we missed the chance to see the lights outside from our hotel room. If you stay, you can enjoy the view from your room in the evening.
The overall experience of staying was good, the hotel environment is very new and clean. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Hong Kong | The ultimate Hong Kong travel guide is super cool! Come and copy the homework for your stay
🇭🇰 Haven't been to Hong Kong for years! Taking advantage of the Creamfields Hong Kong music festival to see The Chainsmokers, I took the opportunity to revisit Hong Kong and experience the charm of Hong Kong Island once again!
🚶 Walked thirty thousand steps on Hong Kong Island in a day, and I've put together a special forces-style travel guide
🐎 Just reading this one article is enough for your trip to Hong Kong!
🗓️ Recommended travel duration: 2-3 days
🙋♂️ Pre-departure preparations:
1. Prepare the Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents and ID card (very important‼️)
2. Declare the health code as black the night before departure, search for 'Customs Passenger Fingertip Service' in the mini-program, screenshot the application for later use, now PCR test is not required
3. It is recommended to buy a Hong Kong SIM card on Taobao in advance, it's much cheaper
4. Prepare an Octopus card and Hong Kong dollars in cash (some restaurants may still not accept WeChat Pay)
5. Remember to bring a power bank
