Memories of London
#100WaysOfTravel
The London skyline is a dynamic tapestry that captures the city's rich history and its forward-looking spirit. It is an eclectic mix of old and new, where medieval spires coexist with contemporary skyscrapers, creating a skyline that is both iconic and constantly evolving.
The most striking feature of London’s skyline is **The Shard**. Completed in 2012, this towering glass structure, designed by Renzo Piano, stands at 310 meters, making it the tallest building in the United Kingdom. Its sleek, shard-like shape rises dramatically above the city, offering breathtaking views from its observation decks.
Nearby, in the City of London, the **Gherkin** (30 St Mary Axe) adds a touch of modern flair. This unique building, with its distinctive, curvaceous shape and patterned glass facade, has become a symbol of London's financial district since its completion in 2003.
In contrast to these modern giants, the **Houses of Parliament** and **Big Ben** anchor the skyline with their Gothic Revival architecture. Situated along the River Thames, they are instantly recognizable and represent the heart of British political life.
The dome of **St. Paul’s Cathedral**, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, has been a dominant feature of London’s skyline since the late 17th century. Even amid the city’s modern developments, it remains a prominent and protected element of the skyline.
Another notable feature is the **London Eye**, a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the Thames. Opened in 2000, it offers a unique, slowly revolving perspective of the city and has become a modern icon of London.
Finally, the **Walkie Talkie** (20 Fenchurch Street) with its distinctive top-heavy design and the **Cheesegrater** (122 Leadenhall Street), known for its tapered profile, add to the contemporary silhouette of the city.
Together, these elements make London's skyline a vibrant blend of tradition and innovation, reflecting the city's past, present, and future.

The London Eye cruise departs from the pier next to the London Eye, with no stops throughout, offering panoramic views of the Thames. I really think it is a good value for money while aboard the boat. Amazing views to be seen while you sail down the river! Throughout the comfortable cruise, with live commentary, you'll see famous landmarks such as St Paul's Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament, the Tower of London, HMS Belfast, Shakespeare's Ring, Tate Modern and London's Millennium Bridge .
Over all, I really enjoyed it, the conductor was a little funny, as well as giving a tour guide of the famous buildings. The boat went a little down the Thames then up before returning to the dock. The trip lasted about 45 minutes. It was not early but still managed to get a seat at the top. Apart from that it's always nice to go on a sunny day. Highly recommended.

Big Ben & London Eye
After you do your photoshoots at Tower Bridge & Buckingham, it's time to see Big Ben and the London Eye. The best view of the eye is on Westminster Bridge. Post on the wall like above, and you'll get a good shot.
For Big Ben, you can turn around and take the shot from there OR walk past it to the little park.
Enjoy! #tripblazers #london #england #travel #photography #fallingforfall

The most iconic place to visit in London. There can't be any trip without being on the London Eye for an amazing view of London. This is one of its kind observation wheels, 120 meter diameter and goes 135 meters high in the sky. The wheel's 32 sealed and air-conditioned ovoidal passenger capsule, each can accommodate 25 people. The capsules are numbered from 1 to 33, excluding number 13 for superstitious reasons. BTW, this is not the only place in the UK which excludes number 13 🤣.
Anyway, a must and most visited place in London. Advance booking is highly recommended especially in the summer\vacation period.#境外遊 #awesomepic
