I don't know how many times I've been here, but it was my first time visiting in the summer. This shrine is located at an altitude of 1000m, where Emperor Yamato Takeru is said to have enshrined Izanagi no Mikoto and Izanami no Mikoto. It is said that a wolf guided Emperor Yamato Takeru to this place, and they are enshrined together, and their figures can be seen everywhere. First, there is a slope leading to the shrine's torii gate, and the scenery is wonderful. You can feel the mountains, and the air is very fresh. The temperature seems to be a little lower than in the city of Chichibu. After passing through the torii gate, the air is quiet as if it has changed. There is a short queue to worship, but you can greet the god and pray properly. The goshuin was written for you. I saw people bringing their pet dogs before, but it seems that they are not allowed to bring them now. Mitsumine Shrine has an inner shrine that cannot be entered in winter. It is said to be in a place that is not easy to get to, as most people are wearing mountain climbing clothes. I've heard that bears appear there, so I haven't been able to try... I recommend going early in the morning. When it gets close to noon, you will have to wait to enter the parking lot. From the parking lot, it is about a 15-minute walk to the main hall. I went in the fall, it is very cold because it is deep in the mountains. It is a good idea to make sure to bring a jacket. I had to wait in line for about 30 minutes to get to the main hall, but I was able to worship. You can only worship one group at a time. I recommend going with plenty of time! Wild deer are there to welcome you! The second you step through the torii gate, 👉 The air feels crisp and cool. 👉 It's completely silent. 👉 You naturally find yourself standing up a little straighter. Honestly, 👉 I thought, "This place just hits different compared to other shrines..." The most famous thing here is the dragon that appears on the stone pavement. When you splash water on it, the shape of a dragon magically appears—it was seriously mystical. Plus, it’s surrounded by mountains, and the scenery is absolutely stunning.
