Montmartre : Charming town in Paris
#citywalk
Montmartre area of Paris is like a village within the city.
You will experience a different side to Paris. Walk around the streets and allow yourself to get a bit lost.
You will be walking in the footsteps of great artists and writers. Renoir, Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec and Picasso all hung out among the lofty quarter’s windmills, cobblestone laneways and leafy squares.
Dont forget to check out the sinking house right next to the Sacré-Coeur.
There are alot of cute cafes and bars and cool buildings.
Just immerse yourself in the beautiful bohemian neighborhood.
I’d highly recommend anyone going to Paris to visit this fascinating and beautiful arrondissement.

Which area we should live for Paris travel…🤔
Paris offers a variety of neighborhoods, each with its own charm.😉 Choosing the right area to stay is crucial for your trip. Here's a guide to help you decide.

Must do a free trip to Paris, four days and three nights of crazy walking‼️‼️‼️
January is the off-season ✈️ "New York-Paris for just over 300 dollars.
🏨The hotel Le Ballu found on the tablet is highly recommended! (Pic 7) Located on a particularly quiet street near Montmartre, there are subway and bus stations nearby. The sound insulation of the hotel is very good, the restaurant is also delicious, and you can also book a private spa room with a swimming pool and sauna inside.
Because both my teammates and I have been to the major attractions in Paris, we basically wander around randomly every day, and every street is a scenery.
But as tourists, we still visited several attractions, such as walking on Montmartre Hill to see the night view and going up the Eiffel Tower. Currently, the top floor of the tower is under renovation and can be reached by elevator or stairs up to the second floor. We chose to take the stairs to avoid the long queue, and it was much easier than we had imagined.
I only went to the Pompidou Center in the museum. Next to it is Falafel Alley, where almost every shop requires queuing.
Strongly recommend the Paris Mosque (Pic 9), it's really beautiful inside.
Two music nerds checked in at the Church of Sainte-Madeleine and its organ in Messiaen, as well as IRCAM next to Pompidou.
🥖The best thing to eat is definitely all kinds of bread. Every bakery is super delicious, really incomparable to other places.
💰I didn't come with the intention of buying things this time, but I was really tempted by the prices in the mall. I only brought a backpack for hiking, so I couldn't go crazy shopping. In the end, I only bought a little bit from the vintage section on the top floor of Printemps in Paris...
Every day there is a brief rain, sometimes it gets windy, but for people coming from the East Coast, this weather and temperature are already very friendly. PS: The locals are much friendlier than we thought. We met many people who said to us, "Sorry, my English is not good," but they still tried very hard to communicate with us.
Safety issue❗️We rely entirely on walking and taking the subway for transportation, usually without carrying a bag or just a small one across the body, and we put our purchases in cloth bags. We basically don't go to tourist gathering places, and if we do, we pass through quickly. We haven't encountered or seen any criminal behavior, but it's still better to be cautious.

Paris - By Day, By Night
A city of romance and sorrow! I loved my time here, roaming the streets, up and down for hours! Climbing the Eiffel Tower by foot is one of the must things, you can’t not and should not take the elevator! it’s one thing you will regret! 💪🏽 after this I followed up
by visiting various sights including Champs-Elysees, Montmartre, the attraction that is Moulin Rouge and even hopping over to visit Napoleon tomb! All whilst keeping a gentle reminder on the tunnel that last saw Princess Dianna alive! Ofcourse a must visit destination.

The Sinking House in Paris
Nearest metro stations: Anvers/ Abbesses/ Château Rouge (depending on which direction you start walking)
Address: Parvis du Sacré-Cœur, 75018 Paris, France
Famous for: the funny view of this house from behind the slope - it’s not actually sinking!
Tourist spots nearby: Sacre Coeur, Place du Tertre, Museum of Montmartre, Wall of Love
Personally I find it more interesting than the Eiffel Tower as it’s more visually striking and playful. If you visit in person and stand in front of this house, you will find nothing special- it erects firm and square on the room without any sign of sinking. You will have to walk behind a small slope to look at the house again, then you can play with the angle and take photos of the house as if it was sinking half way, a quarter or almost completely.
The area is also famous for coffee shops, bakeries and local pubs. After walking to the 3-4 tourist spots, a cup of well-brewed coffee is a nice way to wrap up the day tour.

Artists' Montmartre 🇫🇷
What do you imagine when you think of Paris? Here is my definition - art, macarons and beautiful architecture. When in Paris, one must visit Montmartre, including the Basilica De Sacre Coeur and the Artists' Square.
With its cobbled streets, stunning Basilica, artists, bistros ... Montmartre is full of charm! Perched on the top of a small hill in the 18th arrondissement, the most famous Parisian district has lost none of its village atmosphere that appealed so much to the artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. A real melting pot of art and inspiration for the cinema, Montmartre still gives as much pleasure to those who stroll around it and figures high on the list for a stay in Paris.
With your sweetheart or friends, enjoy museum visits and the wonderful view of the city from the top of Sacré-Cœur, then set off in the steps of Amelie of Montmartre.

I Know What You Did Last Summer
Paris in early summer is the best time to visit. The weather was fine & windy. Manage to visit the famous landmarks i.e., Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Palace de Versailles, Lourve Museum, Disneyland. Luckily, i went a lit bit early because they were lots of construction to prepare for the Olympics. It is easy to travel to these places via train & bus (make sure you know which line to take).

Montmartre is one of the most beautiful districts of Paris. It is impossible to visit Paris without spending a few hours walking around in what is called the village of Paris. If I have a piece of advice for you, get up early, if you can be there at the sunrise and get off at the Lamarck-Caulaincourt metro station, which will already surprise you at its beauty. Then go and see the famous Maison Rose that is so instagramable and the vineyards of Montmartre, then stroll to the very renowned restaurant Le Consulat and finish your walk at the Sacre-Coeur. You can take a ticket to go up the basilica for a breathtaking view of Paris. It’s worth a hundred steps to climb.

It is said that Parisians have a saying: If Montmartre cannot make you an artist, at least it can make you look like one.
Apparently Van Goh and Picasso both loved this place. They have had many a coffee here, were inspired and devoted themselves to their artistic creations. Transportation
Metro: take Line 2 to Anvers station
Take Line 12 to Abbesses station and step out onto the streets of Montmartre. There, you will see many glass mosaics, graffiti and other creative designs. Walking on the streets is just like stepping foot inside a major museum. You’ll find surprises at every corner. Montmartre is one of Paris’ high points and is a place where artists and painters gather and meet. My last few visits in Paris took me here to Montmartre; after all, I am a former art student myself, so I’ve always had this longing for the artistic ambiance here. This time I have enough time, so i thought I’d come here again and take a look, take it all in. All sorts of graffiti along the streets - cute, strange or mysterious, perhaps the next grand artist’s work will reveal itself to you. The center of Montmartre is definitely Sacre Coeur. From the metro station you’ll climb a lot of stairs like these ones here. All along such staircases you’ll see graffiti, seemingly showing to tourists that unique artistic vibe from Montmartre.

Paris Travel Montmartre Hill Private Tour Guide
The most artistic place in northern Paris is undoubtedly Montmartre Hill. Picasso created here, 'Amélie' was filmed here, and you can overlook the entire city from the highest point in Paris.
Here's the private tour guide! How to take photos 📷 with no one else around? Just come and walk the entire Montmartre loop from 8 to 8:30 in the morning. At this time, only local residents are jogging or walking their dogs, and there are basically no tourists around. Even the artists 🧑🎨 haven't set up their stalls yet.
The tour can start from the Lamarck-Caulaincourt metro station 🚇, head towards the core area of Place du Tertre and Sacré-Cœur, and end at the Abbesses metro station 🚇.

Captivating Charm of Montmartre, Paris
#europetrip
Montmartre, perched atop a hill in Paris's 18th arrondissement, is a vibrant quarter known for its bohemian past and stunning panoramic views of the city. This historic neighborhood, once the haunt of artists like Picasso and Van Gogh, retains a unique village-like charm that continues to attract tourists and locals alike.
A Stroll Through Artistic Legacy
Walking through the cobbled streets of Montmartre, visitors can feel the artistic soul of Paris. The area's most famous landmark, the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur, sits at its highest point, offering not only spiritual solace but also one of the best vantage points over Paris. The white-domed basilica is both a photographic marvel and a peaceful retreat from the bustling city below.
The Bustling Place du Tertre
Just a few steps away from the basilica is Place du Tertre, where artists set up their easels each day to paint and sell their artworks. This lively square is the heart of Montmartre’s artistic scene, bustling with creativity. It’s a place where you can get your portrait sketched by today’s local artists while soaking in the historical ambiance that once inspired some of the greatest painters.
Cafés and Cabarets
Montmartre is home to many quaint cafés and historic cabarets. The legendary Cabaret du Lapin Agile offers a glimpse into the area’s vibrant night scene where the likes of Maurice Utrillo and other notable figures once gathered. For a quieter experience, the many cafes scattered throughout offer the perfect spot for people-watching or enjoying a classic French meal with a glass of wine.
Exploring Montmartre’s Museums
For those interested in diving deeper into the history and culture of Montmartre, the neighborhood boasts several museums. The Musée de Montmartre, located in a former artist's studio, displays artworks by Modigliani and Utrillo and provides insights into the area’s fascinating artistic heritage. Additionally, the Espace Dalí features a collection of Salvador Dalí’s works, emphasizing Montmartre's continued importance in the art world.
Practical Tips
- Wear Comfortable Shoes: The hilly streets and staircases of Montmartre require sturdy footwear.
- Visit Early or Late: To avoid the crowds, especially around Sacré-Cœur, consider visiting early in the morning or later in the evening.
- Explore Beyond the Tourist Spots: Venture beyond the well-trodden paths to discover Montmartre's hidden gardens, vineyard, and lesser-known streets that offer a more authentic glimpse of the neighborhood.
Montmartre remains a captivating blend of history, art, and Parisian charm, making it an essential part of any visit to Paris. Whether you're exploring its artistic landmarks, enjoying a show at a cabaret, or simply wandering its picturesque streets, Montmartre promises a memorable experience imbued with the spirit of Paris.

Montmartre in Paris
Sacré-Cœur—Place du Tertre—Moulin Rouge
Montmartre is located at the highest point in Paris, with the Sacré-Cœur Basilica at its core, it is a very young district in Paris.
The alleyways and staircases here are filled with a romantic atmosphere, and there are legends and stories everywhere.
This is the filming location of the movie 'Amélie',
The Love Wall, Place du Tertre, Sacré-Cœur Basilica, Saint-Pierre Hall Art Bookstore are all famous attractions.
At night, it becomes a neon-lit city that never sleeps, harmoniously embracing religion, art, sensuality, and love.
1. The Love Wall
🔸There, 'I love you' is written in 311 languages, there is always one that can touch the other person.
2. Place du Tertre
🔸It gathers countless Parisian artists, and many artists sell their products here every day, and paint for tourists on the spot.
3. Sacré-Cœur Basilica
🔸At the commanding heights of Montmartre, it is one of the famous landmarks in Paris.
🔸You can buy tickets to visit the church, and you can also sit on the steps in front of the church square to watch the sunset and street performances.
4. The Sinking House
🔸Next to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, you can see it by turning your head to the left while sitting on the steps. The visual displacement makes the house sink into the lawn, which is very interesting.
5. Rainbow Stairs
🔸Internet celebrity check-in, right above Place du Tertre, but the Rainbow Stairs no longer have a rainbow.
6. Saint-Pierre Hall Art Bookstore
🔸Known as the brainstorming of the literary world, one of the niche bookstores in romantic Paris. Here you can not only read books but also see the works of various artists. The bookstore is super high, and you can see the entire green space of Montmartre.
7. Lapin Agile
🔸Lapin Agile is the artistic holy land of Montmartre, named after the sign painted by artist André Gill for the bar in 1875: a rabbit jumping out of a frying pan. It is known as the cradle of artists before they became famous. Artists such as Picasso and Modigliani were regulars here before they became famous.
8. Pink House - House of Roses
🔸Internet celebrity check-in restaurant, you can take photos and coffee outside, only 2 minutes away from Lapin Agile.
9. Café des 2 Moulins
🔸The filming location of the movie 'Amélie', it still retains the machine where Amélie took pictures in the movie for tourists to take pictures.

Montmartre walk 🚶🏻 street 🇫🇷
#paristrip
Montmartre is located on a hilltop in the 18th arrondissement overlooking Paris offering a great view of the city. We took the metro from our hotel area and then took the train to the top. We didn’t take any tour of Sacker Kuer Church, but walked through the church’s interior. Note: Be sure to reach the small square called Place du Tertre that we found which was very lively with restaurants, artists, artists, etc... Very strange and it is west of Sacre Couer.... A short walk away.
A vibrant and stunning small town at the top of the hill, with a huge basilica (Sacre Core).
The building is huge and stunning, but once you get there, the good part begins.
A city of the bohemian genre where artists and musicians lived or worked, and some celebrities were Monet, Renoir, Picasso, Van Gogh, among others.
The streets are filled with beautiful small shops, where you can get painted photos of you, many handicrafts, and arts/drawings. As you continue to walk in restaurants, start to appear, the streets are full of tourists. A glass/cup of hot wine would be very suitable if it were in the low temperature season. You can also find street musicians playing for tips. We chose a restaurant in a corner, which ended up being an amazing choice, it had a musical atmosphere (low-volume international guitar, live music), a great environment, good customer service (especially for tourists), the food was good, nothing outside of this world, but the rest made up for much more.
It has great views of the city, and if you go to the side of it, you can see the Eiffel Tower too, a great view in the evening.
There is a cable car in case you want to avoid climbing stairs and you can get there by train with a nearby station.

Montmartre is always on my top list and definitely 1 of the most wonderful place in Paris that you should never miss out that located on 18 arrondissement!!! No matter how rush is your trip and how little time you have for Paris, you must slow down your pace and pay a visit to this artistic area!!
There are few things that I would recommend:
1. Visit the Sacre Coeur
- This is a historical white church that built on the hill of Montmartre on 19 Century. From the Place du Tertre which a narrow cobblestone street at the foot of the hill, you already can the see the building from afar.
2. Stroll around the Place du Tertre
- If you would like to go up to the Sacre Coeur, this is a street you will need to pass by. It is super lively where you will see restaurants, pubs, souvenir shops, cafes, galleries along the way and many street artists is doing the portrait drawing, Do not just rush up the hill, spend some time here to enjoy the artistic ambience and buy some souvenirs. You can also get an artist to draw you a portrait.
3. Eat Amorino Ice Cream
- Taste is normal but it is instagrammable with its flower shape design ice-cream on top of the cone.
(For photo taking purposes😅)
4. Visit Le Mur de Je T’aime
- It is a wall filled with “I love you” in 250 languages.Remember to go there with your boyfriend/girlfriend and say I love you in front it❤️
5. Enjoy the city view
- Overlooking the stunning Paris city view from the top of the hill in Sacre Coeur. Despite it is a tiring trip climbing up here, but the view is so surreal and it is all worth it!!
