National museum of Qatar
Ticket price: adult 50 QAR (13,5$)
Children - free
Very interactive and great for children. Information is in English and Arabic. You learn about the formation of Qatar, the people of Qatar, from its Bedouin roots to its modern-day achievements
There appear to be guided tours but check the website. Having said this, pretty much simple to navigate yourself. Huge and spacious building. Very clean. Fast WIFI. There are places where you can get a coffee or a bite to eat.
The architecture of the building is just stunning. The building itself, inspired by a desert rose, is a sight to behold. Take some time before or after your visit to admire this. The grounds are huge. To enter you must go through a security check. I wore a sleeveless top and was told to cover my shoulders so dress modestly. There is a gift shop as well. Entrance fee is reasonable.

Qatar
What kind of country is Qatar? The full name of Qatar is the State of Qatar, an Arab country in Western Asia
with a national per capita income of about 130,000 US dollars, working 4 hours a day
Education and healthcare are free, with no personal income tax
Known as 'half sea, half desert', Qatar is surrounded by sea on three sides, owning the Persian Gulf, with a coastline of 550 kilometers
Here you can see the Pearl on the Persian Gulf - Doha, where there are magical buildings with expensive construction costs, walking along the seaside highway of Doha Port, you will feel as if you have stepped into the world of tomorrow.
Here, there is a perfect fusion of architecture and art
:
The final masterpiece of the world-renowned architect Mr. I. M. Pei, also his magnum opus, the museum adopts typical Islamic geometric patterns and traditional Arab arch windows, collecting various Islamic art pieces from all over the world
: A delicately designed house stands on the sea, like a beautiful art painting, with exhibits of civilization and art from various Middle Eastern countries
Other attractions:
: Qatar's oldest Arab market, originally meaning 'standing market', has a history of over a hundred years, where you can personally experience the local Arab folk customs. Due to the hot weather during the day, most shops will open their doors near sunset, and the whole market will become lively, with many traditional restaurants in the market, most of which will set up tables and chairs directly outside the shop for business, creating a great atmosphere.
The crisscrossing streets are filled with the ancient scent of sandalwood, with a dazzling array of goods, hookahs/water pots/spices/carpets, everything you can think of.
: Known as the Maldives of the Persian Gulf, come to the Anantara Resort on the island to enjoy a luxurious vacation to the fullest!

Magical experience:
This is also a paradise for outdoor sports

The shining jewel of Qatar, Doha is a multicultural city, home to most of the country's population as well as expatriate communities from a range of origins. Shopping abounds in the city's plentiful malls, while the Corniche impresses visitors with picturesque architecture and dazzling views of the harbor. Doha boasts myriad cultural facilities, including the futuristic Education City and the National Museum. With one of the most stunning skylines anywhere—glass towers twist, turn, and defy gravity—Qatar's capital city of Doha gives an unforgettable first impression. Everything you see was built after 1971, when this former pearl-fishing village became the capital, so it looks like a movie set in the not-too-distant future. The National Museum of Qatar and the Museum of Islamic Art are architectural masterpieces. Soccer is the favorite local sport, closely followed by shopping. There are massive malls filled with luxury-seekers, but don’t miss the simple stalls at Souq Waqif. Outside city limits, Doha dissolves into desert, popular for sandboarding and other sports. On a peninsula extending into the Persian Gulf, Qatar is ringed by snowy white beaches, many an easy drive from Doha. I love Doha QATAR 🇶🇦. best Fifa World Cup presentation is Doha QATAR.

The moment you step into Doha, it's like stepping into a world full of fantasy. The sky in Doha is so blue, and the white clouds float in the air like cotton candy, adding a sense of tranquility and peace to the city. In the distance, modern high-rise buildings and ancient traditional buildings reflect each other, telling the history and future of Doha.
The architecture of Doha is a beautiful landscape. The towering Khalifa Tower stands majestically in the center of the city, becoming a landmark building in Doha. At night, the tower is illuminated by colorful lights, like a dreamy castle, intoxicating. There is also the unique Islamic Art Museum, the white building exterior is like a fine piece of art, exuding a strong cultural atmosphere. The museum houses a wealth of Islamic art treasures, allowing you to appreciate the beauty while also deeply understanding the profoundness of Islamic culture.
The beaches of Doha are also a beautiful sight not to be missed. The delicate beaches, clear waters, and warm sunshine form a beautiful beach picture. You can enjoy the romance of the sun and the beach here, or participate in various water activities, such as diving, surfing, windsurfing, etc., to feel the charm of the sea. In the evening, sitting in a cafe on the beach, admiring the beautiful sunset, the red sun gradually sinking, dyeing the sky into a gorgeous color, as if in a fairy tale world.
The traditional market in Doha is full of life. The Waqif Old Market is a place full of Arab customs. The narrow streets are full of stalls selling a dazzling array of goods. Doha, Qatar, a mysterious city in a wonderful country...
Explore the Arab world and experience exotic customs. I came to Doha for work. I visited the venues for the 2006 Asian Games built by our compatriots, as well as local cultural landscapes and customs. Here is a travel guide to Doha, Qatar that I have summarized:
- Attractions and prices:
- Museum of Islamic Art: Designed by I. M. Pei, the building itself is a work of art. The museum displays Islamic art from around the world. Admission is free.
- National Museum of Qatar: The unique "desert rose" exterior design and the interior displays of Qatar's history are free to visit.
- The Pearl-Qatar: An artificial island with a Mediterranean-style marina, high-rise residences, villas, hotels, and many shopping venues. It is free to visit, but some activities on the island require an additional fee.
- Corniche: A beautiful 7 km promenade with views of the waterfront and city skyline. Admission is free.
- Souq Waqif: You can buy a variety of Middle Eastern specialty goods and experience the rich Arab customs. Consumption in the market varies from person to person. For example, buying specialty items may cost a few dollars, and tasting local food costs an average of 20-50 dollars.
- Katara Cultural Village: There are museums, mosques, concert halls, etc., with a strong artistic atmosphere. Admission is free.
- Msheireb Museums: White Arabic-style buildings, the museum displays the impact of the oil industry on Qatar's development, etc. Admission is free.
- Hamad International Airport: The airport has characteristic landscapes and rich facilities. If you only visit, there is no charge, but consumption in the airport depends on the specific situation.
- Food and prices:
- Hanok Restaurant: A Korean restaurant in front of the National Museum. A set meal with a staple food, a dish, and a small kimchi is about 150 RMB. Cold noodles and fried chicken are popular.
- Parisian Cuisine: In Souq Waqif, it is a Persian-style restaurant suitable for eating barbecue, and the price is moderate.
- The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort Afternoon Tea: The environment is beautiful, facing the Arabian Gulf, with a private beach. The price of afternoon tea for two is 395 Qatari riyals (about 800 RMB).
- Kamachi Restaurant: A popular Indian-style restaurant in Katara Cultural Village, the dishes are close to Chinese cuisine, and the per capita consumption depends on the order.
- Chabrat Al Mina Restaurant: A local restaurant with high reviews, about 300 RMB per capita, but reservations are required for many people.
- Precautions:
- Language communication: The official language is Arabic, and English is common, but local residents have a heavy English accent.
- Dress code: Ladies should avoid wearing sleeveless, miniskirts or transparent clothes in public places, and men should avoid wearing vests and shorts; when visiting religious sites, avoid wearing miniskirts or shorts.
- Taboos for taking pictures: Do not take pictures of locals, especially women and children, when taking pictures. If you need to shoot, you should first obtain their consent.
- Religious customs: Respect various regulations and customs of Islam, such as not eating or drinking during the day during Ramadan.

Qatar National Museum | The memory of Qatar in the group of alien 'flying saucers'
🌟🇶🇦
The first thing that catches your eye is the unique appearance of the museum, which looks like a group of 🛸 flying saucers from outer space. The Qatar National Museum is made up of these uniquely shaped 'flying saucers'.
Upon entering the museum, each exhibition hall introduces the development process of Qatar, from ancient times to the present, and a variety of exhibits tell the historical story of this Middle Eastern peninsula country.
🎥This museum, like many newer ones, makes extensive use of projections. On both sides of the exhibition path, the museum projects films on the walls on both sides, giving visitors a sense of immersion.
After visiting the museum, you will have a general understanding of the history of Qatar, how it developed from a relatively primitive, natural environment Middle Eastern country into the modern country it is now.
How did the Qataris of the past survive in backward conditions, how do the Qataris of today play their advantages in modern society? And how do they look to the future, these questions can all be found in this museum.

The "Desert Rose" Qatar National Museum is so beautiful! The building itself is a work of art!
The sculptural form of the Qatar National Museum is truly breathtaking. The architectural design comes from Pritzker Prize winner Jean Nouvel, whose design inspiration comes from the desert rose. In terms of appearance, the museum's desert-colored concrete structure complements the desert environment, and the building seems to break out of the ground. The interlocking circular structure inside forms irregular curved walls.
The museum is known worldwide for its exquisite and unique appearance of the "Desert Rose" and its mysterious inner story. As soon as it opened, it became a super popular check-in place in Qatar. The Qatar National Museum is divided into three chapters: the origin of Qatar, life in Qatar, and contemporary history of Qatar.
The 1.5-kilometer-long 11 exhibition halls, through a series of unique and all-encompassing environments and high-tech means, lead people into a journey. From architectural space, music, poetry, oral history, smell, archaeological artifacts, paintings, commemorative art films, etc., vividly interpret the story of Qatar. It also leads tourists to appreciate how Qatar has evolved from a peninsula millions of years ago to a diverse today.

I found it fairly interactive and also features plenty of projections and 3D cinema. Also, one thing to note, when I visited, you had to scan your tickets when entering several expos, so make sure you keep it handy.
Overall, I would allocate 2-3 hours to get the most out of all expositions.
