Bavaria | Wies Church
| Wies Church. The southern part of Bavaria on a sunny day is really perfect for a convertible, feels like a second back to Switzerland! Driving towards the Alps, the rolling hills, the sprawling meadows, the cows and horses dotted among them, the cotton candy-like clouds, and the scent of grass in the air (and the stink of cow dung..)
Today I visited the UNESCO Wieskirche, the Wies Church. Hardly anyone has posted travel logs about it, it's too underrated 🤔 This is Germany's most exquisite, best-preserved, and most important Rococo church due to its pilgrimage history! It's so delicate, completely breaking the stereotype of Germany hh Especially the texture of various marble sculptures and gilded decorations, the covers of books, leaves, cloaks, waves, the folds of robes, and so on~
'The harmony between art and landscape is unique. All the artistic forms and techniques used—architecture, sculpture, painting, stucco work, carving, wrought iron work—have been brought together by the architect, forming a structure of form and light that looks effortless. The luxurious interior decoration is unparalleled in its splendor and delicacy. The gorgeous stucco elements were created by Dominikus Zimmermann, and the ceiling murals by his brother, Johann Baptist Zimmermann, court painter of the Elector of Bavaria. The gilded stucco garlands on the dome ceiling and the intricate trompe l'oeil murals are masterpieces of human creativity and moving testimonies of profound faith.'

SIERRA LOVE
The Weiss Church was not in the plan, but when I was eating with the German landlord Johanna, when she heard about our trip tomorrow, I strongly suggested that we go to the Weiss Church, which she said was the most beautiful church she had ever seen. And the church was on our way back from Amego to Fussen, thinking that since I was on the way, I went to see you. When we arrived, we saw the church at the end of the pasture at a glance, with the precious blue sky and white clouds in Germany, which is simply the scene in Xinhaicheng comics. It is said that the interior of the Weiss Church is absolutely plain and plain, but I think it is enough to let people come to see it with such a comic-like scene.
This is a simple, plain, ordinary church, but when you push the wooden door open, it seems to enter heaven. The design idea of the whole building revolves around the central principle of pilgrimage, emphasizing the theme of repentance and salvation. Every detail is meticulously crafted, and the gorgeous Rococo style is here to the fullest. Such a quiet and elegant temperament, even makes me feel that my hasty visit is a kind of pollution.
When we visited, the church was just doing worship, suggesting that you can't take pictures. We can only greedily keep looking up at this bright pearl in the history of mankind. The believers followed the priest solemnly and sang hymns. The interior of the church was small, and the song echoed in every corner of the church. The whole church was more solemn. Close your eyes and experience the ritual feeling that you never had.
Although there are no photos, the memories we have harvested are far more than those recorded by the lens. Walking out of the church, just as the sun sets, in the dreamy backlight halo, the little lambs and pony graze, completely disregarding the tourists. It is hard to imagine such a quiet and peaceful pasture field, hiding such an artistic treasure that shocked the world. What travel brings to us is perhaps "you never think..." this gift. The
Weiss Church is also worth recommending that the road around it is really too old! Can definitely be ranked in the top three of the most beautiful roads we have driven by car!
