One day in Doha
On the way from UAE back to Europe we didn’t miss the chance to get stopover for 24 hours in Doha, capital of Qatar
We picked hotel in old city, near ancient market
Souq Waqif is a beautifully re-created traditional marketplace in the center of Doha not far from the Corniche. The original souq which dated back to the 1800s was destroyed in a fire in 2003 but was rebuilt in 2006 and has an authentic look and feel.
There are shops inside and out selling clothing, jewelry, spices, animals and crafts. It is a great place to pick up a souvenir. I enjoyed this so much more than the grittier souq in Dubai where the vendors were aggressive and annoying. Minimal pressure in the Souq Waqif. This is also a great area to have a meal with many different restaurants to choose from. It's a vibrant place and even more enjoyable after dark#doha

Amazing City Tour to Doha, Qatar
#winhkflight
Our flight from Doha to Malaysia was delayed and we decided to join the four hour tour organised by Hamad International Airport during our layover in Doha. The experience was immaculate! The tour was easily accessible and seamless, we board on the bus with other tour mates and the tour guide was professional as well! One of the stop, which was Souq Wadif, Bounded by Al-Souq Street and Grand Hamad Street was amazing! It is located in the heart of Doha, Qatar, and it is a historic marketplace that offers visitors a glimpse of the traditional Arabian culture. The alleys were ancient and unique, bustling vibes with stalls selling spices, textiles, handficrafts, food stores. Such an eye opening experience, would recommend if you ever have a longer transit period in Doha!
I wish to travel to Hong Kong for the food!

A day in Doha, Qatar.
It was good to be back in #doha for a day trip during my last transit through #qatarairways
I landed about 7am in the morning at Hammad International Airport Doha, got an Uber to the hotel! Rested for 3 hours and straight went to the first
Attraction ~ Souq Waqif, there are so many food options, cultural attractions, local shops for buying souvenirs and to enjoy the traditional food/tea/coffee.
After exploring Souq Waqif and having a scrumptious lunch, we walked towards the #dohaharbour to see the high-rise buildings view of the city center, after clicking some pictures there took another Uber to the city center and did some shopping before going back to the airport.

The Stunning Souq Waqif 🇶🇦
If you are ever in Qatar, this is a must visit tourist attraction!
Souq Waqif reflects the rich middle eastern culture one expects, full of magnificent middle eastern buildings and a bustling market filled with spices and items that stops you at every corner.
At night, the market comes to life with many locals and foreigners visiting Souq Waqif to purchase goods and visit the many famous restaurants over at the market place.
I was fortunate to get my hands on Lebanese and Egyptian food during my visits there and it did not disappoint! All the meats that I ordered (Lamb, Chicken and Beef) were all super tender while the rice that was served was rich in flavor. Hopefully one day I’ll be back!

The shining jewel of Qatar, Doha is a multicultural city, home to most of the country's population as well as expatriate communities from a range of origins. Shopping abounds in the city's plentiful malls, while the Corniche impresses visitors with picturesque architecture and dazzling views of the harbor. Doha boasts myriad cultural facilities, including the futuristic Education City and the National Museum. With one of the most stunning skylines anywhere—glass towers twist, turn, and defy gravity—Qatar's capital city of Doha gives an unforgettable first impression. Everything you see was built after 1971, when this former pearl-fishing village became the capital, so it looks like a movie set in the not-too-distant future. The National Museum of Qatar and the Museum of Islamic Art are architectural masterpieces. Soccer is the favorite local sport, closely followed by shopping. There are massive malls filled with luxury-seekers, but don’t miss the simple stalls at Souq Waqif. Outside city limits, Doha dissolves into desert, popular for sandboarding and other sports. On a peninsula extending into the Persian Gulf, Qatar is ringed by snowy white beaches, many an easy drive from Doha. I love Doha QATAR 🇶🇦. best Fifa World Cup presentation is Doha QATAR.

Souq Waqif
the Souq Waqif Art Centre showcases the works of local and visiting artists, all available for sale. Workshops surround the exhibition space, and it is possible to take an art class or watch artists at work.

It is a must see during a visit in the city of Doha as it is one very old arabian market with old buildings and hundreds of shops that you can find everything from souvenirs to food and even furniture. It is very easy also to visited by metro. The atmosphere is nice and the staff in most shops is very welcoming. Don't forget bargain the prices as you can achive far better prices than the ones you see although some things are a little bit overpriced. The only annoying thing is the thousands of people going around, some of them very rude especially on night time.

The most worthwhile place for a day trip to the city of Qatar: Wajif Old Market
This is the oldest commercial street in the area, should be considered the most grounded place here? The entire market is surrounded by a row of buildings resembling the old city walls. There is almost an hour here, you can hang out, you can buy souvenirs, you can also buy food. There are many souvenir shops in the market. I especially like the exotic lights, which reminds me of the Aladdin lamp when I was a child. Such a shop may be suitable for portraits. The streets of
markets are always very lively, but if Ramadan comes here, it is very quiet, leaving only the mottled earth walls and the shadows swaying on the walls, as if telling the ancient history here.
SenLi Photographer
The old market of Vachev is quieter than I thought. I thought it was a lively market. It may be because I came here in the afternoon. It was just that there were not many people outside when it was hot. Doha is like this. Dry, basically no one on the road, in the evening or at night, will come out for a walk, never sleep, I think it is the most appropriate expression here.
There are not many people in the market. Occasionally there will be a group of pigeons that suddenly fly up. It always feels very spectacular. In terms of the pigeons, this is the most realistic rhythm of life. Sometimes I will be particularly contradictory. When I walk into the market, many uncles, grandpa will smile at me and talk to me. I just politely smile back, maybe they are not malicious but just passionate, and I am out of friends. Reminder, I had to smile a little.
Bird market has gathered a variety of birds, can see a lot of such grandfather sitting and talking and laughing, time is here, it is probably a pleasant time to chat. Regrettably, there is no chance to go to the hunting market, the classic part of the Arab countries, so I have the opportunity to see it later.
In the evening, you can choose to feel the coolness of the outside of the restaurant, chat and smoke, so the Arab rhythm begins.
Fanar - Qatar Islamic Cultural Center, you can experience the Islamic culture more deeply. When night falls, it will light up and the night scene is very attractive.

Qatar Doha: A journey through time to the treasures of the Middle East.
1. Visa
Qatar has a visa-free policy for Chinese citizens, which is like a key to open the door to a magical world. With a passport valid for at least 6 months, you can stay in Qatar for 30 days and travel to the mysterious and charming world of Doha without any obstacles.
2. Best time to travel
The four seasons in Doha are like a changing movement. From November to March of the following year, the climate is as gentle as a touch, cool and pleasant, with an average temperature of about 20-25°C. This is the golden time for outdoor activities and sightseeing. Every scene is like a masterpiece carefully drawn by nature. From June to September, it is like a passionate chapter. The temperature is high, but there are also unique benefits of hotel price concessions.
3. Transportation
• Airport: Hamad International Airport is like an air bridge connecting the world, with many international and domestic flights taking off and landing here. Taxis at the airport are queued in an orderly manner in designated areas, allowing you to quickly and comfortably reach the city; airport buses are also a good choice, starting a smooth transition from the air to the ground.
• City transportation: Doha's public transportation system is like the city's veins, with subways and buses crisscrossing. The subway is clean and fast, covering the main areas of Doha, like an underground expressway, taking you through the bustling city.
4. Attractions
• Museum of Islamic Art: This is a building with artistic shock, designed by Master Pei. The white building exterior is simple and elegant, shining with a holy light in the sun. The museum houses a large collection of Islamic art treasures, from exquisite ceramics, gorgeous carpets to precious manuscripts, etc. Each exhibit carries the profound cultural heritage of Islam, as if telling the story of ancient civilization, allowing tourists to immerse themselves in a strong artistic atmosphere.
• Waqif Old Market: Walking into the Waqif Old Market is like traveling to the ancient Arab world. On both sides of the narrow and winding streets, there are a dazzling array of goods, from traditional spices, exquisite handicrafts to gorgeous clothing, everything. The market is filled with a unique aroma of various spices, and the shouts of vendors and the laughter of tourists are intertwined, creating a lively and full of life atmosphere. Here, you can fully experience the traditional Arab commercial culture.
• Doha Coastal Boulevard: This is a beautiful boulevard that winds along the coastline. On one side is a modern city building, with high-rise buildings showing the prosperity of Doha; on the other side is the endless blue sea, with waves gently hitting the shore, creating layers of white waves. Walking along the coastal boulevard, you can feel the vitality of the city and enjoy the tranquility of the seaside. You can also take a break in the cafes and restaurants along the way, enjoy the beautiful scenery while tasting delicious food.

Exploring Doha in 11 hours 🇧🇭
During my eleven hours layover in Doha, I had the chance to explore multiple places around this vibrant city.
One of my favourite spots was the bustling Souq Waqif with its nice atmosphere, many traditional markets, local shops and delicious restaurants.
The skyline was another highlight during my visit. If you are a sunset lover I recommend you to visit it during the golden hour.
Despite the short time, I really enjoyed my time there. The city has a unique blend of culture and modernity. For anyone with a layover in Doha, I highly recommend to discover the city.

The world in Aladdin is so real
The scenes of the 2022 World Cup are still vivid in my mind, and the passion for football has deeply permeated every corner of Doha. The true charm of Doha may be difficult to fully appreciate under the scorching sun during the day, but when night falls, it transforms into a real-life version of One Thousand and One Nights. The traditional Souq Waqif market retains the oldest Arab retro architecture 🕌, and the unique aroma of Middle Eastern spices fills the air. Walking through these ancient alleys, the world in Aladdin is so real.

Qatar Doha | Souq Waqif
| Souq Waqif. Strolling through the streets of Qatar, there really aren't many people during the day (because it's hot), but life begins in the evening, especially Souq Waqif is a must-visit.
I used to wander through bazaars in Iran, which were all covered, so this was my first time at an open-air bazaar. Here, the market is divided into sections such as the pet market, falcon market, spice market, and pearl market, where you can easily find the most authentic local restaurants and cafes (PS: My favorite is actually the Persian-style restaurant inside). A hundred years ago, when Doha was still a small fishing village, this was the most important pearl trading market, but now the buildings are mostly rebuilt afterwards, but the overall style is still the local style of the Arabian Peninsula.
Although it has become the most crowded spot for tourists in Doha, the market still serves the function of a traditional Arab bazaar, and many locals also come here to shop for daily necessities and eat. There are occasional traditional music performances and police patrolling on white horses in white robes.
Here, you can see the Islamic Culture Center just across the street, which is very conspicuous both day and night. Its shape is a bit like the mythical Tower of Babel, and there is a cultural site in Iraq with this design. Doha's is an art gallery, but the exhibitions are said to be average, so I didn't go.
Transportation: Accessible by the gold line of the metro, and parking is also very convenient.

Explore the Souq Waqif in Doha - Experience the Oldest Arabian Atmosphere.
In the heart of Qatar's capital, Doha, the Souq Waqif is considered the most lively place. Strolling through the oldest traditional Arabian market, weaving through the bustling historic alleys, one might inadvertently travel through time and find themselves in the dreamy and colorful world of One Thousand and One Nights, touching the historical traces of the Middle East, feeling the unique cultural essence of the Arabian world.
The Souq Waqif is somewhat similar to Beijing Road Pedestrian Street in Guangzhou, but it is more like a labyrinth, with a myriad of shops scattered throughout, from diverse restaurants, cafes, and specialty snacks to spices, perfumes, handmade carpets, gold and silver jewelry, and clothing, to uniquely Middle Eastern handicrafts such as magic lamps and camels, offering a dazzling variety of items.

A trip to Qatar
#wecreate
I recently embarked on a journey to Qatar, a tiny country in the Middle East. I was intrigued to see what this oil-rich country had to offer.
I arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar, and was immediately struck by the juxtaposition of the old and the new. The city is home to traditional Islamic architecture, such as the Grand Mosque, as well as modern skyscrapers and shopping malls.
I spent a few days exploring Doha, visiting the Souq Waqif, a traditional marketplace, and the Museum of Islamic Art. I also took a boat ride on the Doha Corniche, a waterfront walkway.
One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the desert. I went on a desert safari, which included dune bashing, camel riding, and sandboarding. It was an exhilarating experience!
I had a wonderful time in Qatar. It is a country with a rich history and culture, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique travel experience.
