A city Guide of Places to Visit in Munich 🇩🇪
St. Michael's Church ⛪
St. Michael's Church is the largest Renaissance church north of the Alps. While its exterior might not be very eye-catching, the interior is solemn and stunning. As you enter, you are greeted by high vaults adorned with intricate carvings, and the golden altar at the front is truly a sight to behold. The carvings on the left and right walls are also worth a closer look.
Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche) 🕍
The Church of Our Lady, with its bell towers topped by round green domes, is one of Munich's landmarks. Upon pushing open the large wooden doors, you can see long lights cascading from the ceiling, illuminating the church all the way to the altar and the statue of Jesus nailed to the cross at the end. Unlike the ornate St. Michael's Church, the interior of Frauenkirche is simple, with slender white columns and neat, straight windows on both sides.
Viktualienmarkt 🍖
The Viktualienmarkt, less than five minutes from Marienplatz, features over a hundred vendors selling a variety of fresh food and drink. Although it is a traditional market, it is clean and free from unpleasant smells. If you want to taste delicious German pig's feet and sausages or buy simple gifts for your family and friends, this is the place to visit!
English Garden 🌳
The English Garden is one of the largest urban parks in Europe, larger than New York's famous Central Park, and a popular spot for Munich residents to relax, walk, bike ride, and enjoy family outings. The park features large expanses of turf where people often sunbathe in their bathing suits during the summer. It's also common to see families having picnics here.

St Michael's Church
#wheretogo
Churches are some of the most beautiful landmarks in Europe. St Michael's Church is definitely one of them. We got to admire the beauty of it when we were in Munich Germany. I did some research and was astonished that the church was constructed many years ago in the 16th century. We stayed outside the church for awhile and captured some photos for memories.

St. Michael's Church is a Renaissance-style Catholic church built in the late 16th century, and its architectural style has had a tremendous impact on the early Baroque architecture of southern Germany. The facade of the church is a statue of the ruler of the Bavarian kingdom, and the bronze statue between the two entrances shows the scene where the archangel, St. Michael, killed the dragon. The most distinctive feature of this church is the semi-circular dome without pillars. The main hall is decorated with rich portrait paintings depicting the period from the Middle Ages to the 16th century. The underground of the church is the royal tomb. The church is right next to the main street, with no obvious spires and no single-family buildings, but the interior is very beautiful, and the huge vaults create a sense of majesty. The door handle is a small copper angel, very interesting. I really like the feeling that this church conveys, the white is clean, and the pattern is very majestic.
