With a history of more than 500 years, and is ranked in the list of 10 most unique ancient relics in Vietnam. The temple was built on the foundation of the Ly Dynasty Tu Hoa Palace in an area used as a royal silk farm. The current temple was reconstructed in 1771-1792.

Hanoi in the spring
The blue skies, as well as the mild temperature, are perfect for exploring Hanoi’s many attractions by foot too. Visit Hoan Kiem Lake or the One Pillar Pagoda, besides whetting the appetite on some of the most sumptuous foods of Hanoi.
A cup of hot coffee with noodles is just the right thing for a chilly evening. You can look forward to the Annual Flower Festival that takes place in the last week of December. The Tet Festival may fall at the end of January, depending on the dates of the lunar calendar.

Getting There - five minutes walking from the Quan Thanh Temple
Attractions - walking around the lake is such a beautiful experience, delicious restaurants, cafes, a small park in where locals do sports and play chess
Food & Restaurants - seafood restaurants are nearby, but my favorite is:
Bún Thái Hải sản
131 P. Trúc Bạch, Trúc Bạch, Ba Đình, Hà Nội, Vietnam
And the Highlands Cafe by the lake, is just lovely 😍
Shopping - some shops around, but not a lot of shopping areas

The sunset at the Hanoi West Lake
When you are in Hanoi don’t miss out to check out the amazing west lake with it’s beautiful reflection of the sunlight just before the sun goes down. The view is magnificent. It is a great idea to walk around the lake. The lake is strategically located in the center of the capital city. There are many shops and bars around where you can grab a tea coffe or cocktail #tripblazers

This is the area where most expats live and hangout so there is a lot to do as far as restaurants and stores and hotels. Nice area to walk around and get a feel for lifestyle.

Walking around Hanoi, Vietnam
Strolling casually in Hanoi, you will always encounter unexpected beauty. Whether it's the lakeside in the early morning, the bustling streets, or the riverside at sunset, every corner of this city is filled with unique charm.
📸 Tranquil morning run at Hoan Kiem Lake
In the early morning, Hoan Kiem Lake is shaded by green trees and the air is fresh. People jogging by the lake in the morning light seem to blend with nature, making one feel extremely relaxed and peaceful.
📸 Leisurely city sightseeing
Riding an open-top sightseeing bus through the streets of Hanoi, the breeze and the lush greenery in front of you make you completely relax. Casually enjoying the city's scenery feels like walking through a vivid painting.
📸 Tradition and childhood fun in the old streets
While strolling in the old quarters, you might come across a shop full of childhood memories, with colorful lanterns and traditional toys hanging inside, making you feel like you're in a fairy tale world. Every little item here is full of rich Vietnamese flavor.
📸 Morning light at the flower market
In the early morning streets, riding a motorcycle through Hanoi's flower market, vendors laden with fresh flowers add vibrant colors to the streets. The morning sunlight on the flowers makes the whole world seem gently embraced.
📸 Coffee time by St. Joseph's Cathedral
In the alleys beside St. Joseph's Cathedral, find a small corner, sit on a plastic stool by the street, order a cup of rich Vietnamese coffee, and experience the unique local life. Even in the busiest city, you can enjoy a moment of peace and leisure at this moment.
📸 Sunset beauty at West Lake
When the sun sets, strolling by the riverside of West Lake, the shimmering water and the distant city silhouette in the twilight are particularly charming. The sunset here always warms your heart, making it hard to leave.
Every step in Hanoi is an encounter with beauty. Whether it's the tranquility of the morning or the twilight glow of the evening, every corner of this city is worth savoring.

Vietnam also has a West Lake, and the lakeside is full of cafes!
When it comes to famous attractions in Hanoi, people first think of Hoan Kiem Lake, but there is an even larger lake in the city of Hanoi, which is the West Lake of Hanoi. West Lake was originally a section of the Red River that became silted up and is now the largest lake in Hanoi.
There is also a beautiful legend about West Lake. It is said that a fairy in heaven accidentally dropped her mirror to the human world while looking at it, and the mirror broke into two pieces. One half fell in Hangzhou, and the other half landed in Hanoi, Vietnam. Although it sounds far-fetched, West Lake has been a famous spot in Hanoi since the capital was moved to Thang Long (now Hanoi) during the Ly Dynasty.
Since the Ly and Chen dynasties, Vietnamese kings and nobles have been keen to build residences or villas here. Today, many temples and palaces are still preserved around West Lake, such as the Tran Quoc Pagoda and Zhenwu Pavilion mentioned earlier.
After visiting Tran Quoc Pagoda, it was dusk, and the setting sun cast a warm tone on the lake surface. Compared to West Lake in Hangzhou, West Lake in Hanoi lacks the wild charm of mountains and forests, but it is a rare tranquility in the urban forest. However, the road on one side of the lake is still bustling with traffic, and the tide of motorcycles passes by the lakeside. Crossing the street is all about luck, rushing through the brief gaps.
Next to West Lake on the west side, there is a small lake called Truc Bach Lake. I walked around this Truc Bach Lake and liked such streets and alleys, which are rare comforts in the old town of Vietnam. The number of cafes along the shore of Truc Bach Lake is also astonishing. Every few steps, there is a shop, and the density is even higher than our milk tea shops.
Locals like to set up a small stool by the lake and leisurely drink coffee there, but what surprised me was that the locals do not pair coffee with cake or pastries, but with sunflower seeds. This scene is quite a combination of East and West, haha.
Opposite the coffee is Mixue Bingcheng. Although it cannot compare with the number of cafes, there are also quite a few. Unexpectedly, the popular milk tea abroad is not HeyTea or Nayuki, but Mixue Bingcheng. However, the cost is slightly higher than in China, but the taste is basically the same.
Speaking of this, I have to complain about the prices in Vietnam. Except for food, which is slightly cheaper than in China, everything else is more expensive, especially transportation. Grab is even 2-3 times more expensive than Didi.

Shenwei travels to Vietnam|Overlooking the West Lake, the West Lake Intercontinental not only has the most beautiful scenery, but also a legend
Intercontinental Hotel in Hanoi West Lake
Today is National Day, a wish from Vietnam:
Wishing everyone a happy holiday, and wishing our motherland to be strong!
It turns out that there is also a West Lake in Vietnam, in the capital Hanoi, and it is said that it also has a beautiful legend, which is also related to gratitude.
The West Lake in Hanoi is not a famous tourist spot, with few tourists, but it is the largest inland lake in Vietnam.
There are many coffee shops here, mainly European and Korean guests, most of whom are residents who live and work here.
16 years ago, the Intercontinental Hotel chose this location and opened its first hotel in Vietnam: West Lake Intercontinental.
This trip to Hanoi, I was fortunate to stay in this legendary hotel.
Counting, this year I have a particularly lot of fate with Intercontinental, which makes me love and understand this brand under IHG more and more.
The first time I went to Thailand this year, the first hotel I stayed in was Intercontinental Koh Samui;
This time I came to Vietnam, the first hotel I stayed in was Intercontinental Landmark72, and then continued to Intercontinental West Lake.
Whether it's bill bensley or the fairy who descended to West Lake, as long as it is located in Intercontinental, they will choose Silly's bedding and Byredo's toiletries.
The most important thing is the dining experience of the Intercontinental Executive Lounge, from breakfast to afternoon tea to dinner and bar time, I can feel the warmth of home.
At West Lake Intercontinental, you can not only taste local delicacies, such as: the locomotive Pho with delicious beef, handmade homemade Vietnamese rolls and Bun Cha fused with pork;
You can also taste Southeast Asian set meals, such as Chinese porridge set meals, Japanese grilled fish set meals, Korean kimchi set meals, etc., each of which is mouth-watering.
Dinner is different every day, it is worth coming on time every day to taste, there is no need to go to the street to find, everything is good.
What I look forward to most every day is the time of sunset.
At the sunset bar, while tasting good wines from the world, I am fascinated by the city scenery on the opposite side of the river wrapped in golden color.
Watching the night fall, the lights are beginning to come on, and the little lights are set against the stars.
If you are in the swimming pool, you will doubt whether you are swimming with the stars.
The night is too gentle, half of it sneaked into the dream, and half of it was rippling and became a worry.
Of course, I prefer yoga to swimming.
Next to West Lake, I found a hot yoga studio, which was created by an American lady who has lived here for ten years.
She rented the entire building, the first floor is the kitchen, the second floor is the space where she and her Vietnamese husband live, and at the same time left a room for Airbnb, and the third floor is a yoga studio that can accommodate up to 7 people (it will be very crowded).
I was surprised at her acquaintance with her husband, interested in her opportunity to come to Vietnam, and curious about what made her choose to stay.
When a hotel is surrounded by interesting people, this hotel is a real legend.
The attractions in Hanoi are relatively boring to me, but the hotels in Hanoi, each is a legend.

West Lake , like never before…
West Lake in Hanoi, also known as Tay Ho, is a vast expanse of tranquility amidst the city's dynamic rhythm. This freshwater lake, the largest in Hanoi, offers a serene escape from the urban hustle, presenting visitors with a panoramic view of the horizon peppered with ancient pagodas and modern skyscrapers. As you journey around its perimeter, the interplay of tradition and modernity becomes evident. Temples like Tran Quoc, one of Vietnam's oldest, stand proudly, echoing tales of yesteryears, while chic cafes and bistros along the lakeside cater to the contemporary tastes of both locals and tourists. A morning walk by the lake is a sensory delight with the scent of blooming lotuses, the sound of gentle waves, and the sight of locals engrossed in their Tai Chi routines. As evening descends, the area transforms into a social hub, with families and friends gathering to enjoy the cooling breeze, savor street food, or simply revel in the lake's calming presence. Whether you're seeking spiritual solace at one of its many temples, a leisurely boat ride, or just a moment of reflection, West Lake offers a refreshing juxtaposition of Hanoi's rich history and its evolving contemporary scene.

It's the biggest lake in this city with many tourist attractions around it.

Since the beginning of the Li and Chen dynasties, many temples and palaces have been built around the West Lake. There are still Zhenguo Temple, Zhenwu Temple and Jinlian Temple on the lakeside. Next to the West Lake, there are 13 large villas, Shengli Hotel and other modern large-scale hotels. It is a good place for tourists to enjoy the summer, stay and enjoy the beauty of the West Lake.
There are many kinds of legends about the West Lake. One of them is like this: In ancient times, there were two fairies in the sky, and they were afraid to violate the rules of the heavens. They did not dare to stay in the world for a long time. When they returned to heaven, they each threw from the clouds. The next mirror is reserved for the two mirrors in Hangzhou, China and Hanoi, Vietnam. They become two beautiful "West Lakes".
timetrees.
There is a beautiful West Lake in Hanoi, which is the largest lake in the area. It has been a famous place in Hanoi since ancient times and is one of the most romantic places in the local scenery.
The best way to tour the West Lake is to rent a motorcycle in the old city of Hanoi, ride the lake around you, stop and go all the way, more comfortable, and more deeply feel the charm of the West Lake. View.
Many ancient temples on the West Lake, many of them have superb artistic value. The most famous of them is Zhenguo Temple. Starting from here, traveling along the West Lake, all the way is accompanied by beautiful scenery, is a very romantic thing. The yachts on the lake, the green willows on the lake, the blooming flowers on the road, and the bustling parade on the lake have added more popularity to the West.
On the east side of the West Lake, there is a large square with walks along the lake. Here, I will unconsciously fill my footsteps and carefully examine the beauty of the West Lake. A better way to experience it is to find a shade, stop by to enjoy the lake view, or pick one of the many nearby cafes, have a taste of authentic Vietnamese coffee, chat with the owner of the store, this slow life Is the rhythm that is often here.
Around the West Lake, there are a lot of exquisite lakeside restaurants, many of which are built on independent ships, which is very emotional. Xiqiao Dragon Boat Restaurant is located on a dragon boat in the West Lake, with beautiful views of the West Lake and the entire street in the center of Hanoi. Especially at sunset, while dining, overlooking the panoramic view of the West Lake, accompanied by a beautiful sunset, romantic and reluctant to leave
Adam Yue.
Although there is no sun in Hanoi on the first day of 2017 today. But with a good mood, sitting on the side of the West Lake in Hanoi, drinking coffee and beer, is also a good enjoyment.
