Going up to the Fortress Hohensalzburg
#celebratewithtrip
The Fortress Hohensalzburg is an important landmark of Salzburg. It depicts the history of the city and it is still a very popular tourists attraction in the city.
In the history of Salzburg, the start of building the Fortress was in year 1077.
I admired the beauty of the Fortress and how it stand tall, massive and majestic on the top of the hill! It was a pleasure looking at although it was already my second time visiting the city but it still a place that I keep looking forward to.
As we went up there to see the Fortress, I kept on looking at it not worrying about the time. I just wanted to enjoy the view while reading the history on how it was built and the people behind building this large medieval fortress.
Going to Salzburg from Munich by train is just fewer than 2 hours and if you’re lucky enough to book your ticket earlier, you might get the best price!

Salzburg Beyond Hollywood
Salzburg is perhaps best known for its association with Music. Aside from being the setting of one of Hollywood's greatest musical, The Sound of Music, it is also the birthplace of the musical genius, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
There is, however, countless ways to experience this Austrian city aside from what Hollywood has portrayed. One can find unique and magical ways to discover Salzburg any time of the year.
Autumn perhaps is one of the best time to go when the summer crowd has already tapered down and you can almost have theanicured gardens all to yourself of a small group at a very comfortable temperature.
Enjoy the Autumn breeze as you walk around Mirabell Palace and explore the labyrinth of colors from its garden. Perhaps you may also want to take a glimpse of Schloss Hellbrunnand be amazed by its majesty.
You may also simply just take time to absorb the calmness of the surrounding mountains.

nice hotel with mountain view
Getting There - no. 25 Salzburg main bus station
Attractions - Untersberg mountain, castles, salzach, Gaisberg, Mirabell Palace, old town
Hotels - Hotel das Essigmanggut in Anif
Food & Restaurants - Spar and kebab cafes and good breakfast spread from Essigmanggut
Really recommend the hotel. It has good breakfast spread like smoked salmon which is my favorite! Lots of activities to do from museums, architecture to hiking. Untersberg mountain is only few bus stops away. Take cable car ride up to Untersbergbahn and then 25 mins hike to the peak. 3 hours from Salzburg to visit Hallstatt, picturesque small village offers beautiful scenery.
Salzburg's Melodic Heart
Salzburg, nestled amid the Alps and renowned as the birthplace of Mozart, harmonizes the elegance of its baroque architecture with its rich musical heritage. This Austrian city, with its UNESCO-listed Old Town, fortress perched high above, and the Salzach River running through it, presented a symphony of cultural, historical, and natural beauty during my visit.
Dining in Salzburg was a delightful exploration of Austrian cuisine, where traditional dishes like Wiener Schnitzel and Salzburger Nockerl blend with the cozy ambience of historic cafes and modern eateries. Each meal was a celebration, accompanied by the crisp flavors of local beers and wines, reflecting Austria's culinary diversity.
Salzburg's charm extends to its surroundings, with the nearby Salzkammergut Lake District offering a natural counterpoint to the city's cultural richness. A short journey transported me to a world of crystal-clear lakes, alpine meadows, and quaint villages, where the beauty of the Austrian landscape unfolded in all its glory.
My journey through Salzburg was a discovery of a city where every corner sings, every street tells a story, and the legacy of its musical heritage resonates through time. Salzburg, with its melodic heart, stands as a monument to the power of art, history, and nature to inspire and enchant.

🎄 Salzburg Christmas Markets
#christmastrip
#christmastrip #freehotelstay
In Salzburg, you will find Christmas markets placed right outside many historic buildings. You can enjoy the markets, as you view the historical buildings, as when these two come together, they offer a completely magical experience. You can easily stroll under them while taking in history, and all the Christmas spirit.
Each Christmas Market in Austria is so unique, so I recommend visiting at least a couple of different ones. Here you can find a quick overview of the destinations that are easy to access and to travel between cities, and give you the opportunity to visit the most magical Christmas Markets in Austria – also, called Advent markets in Austria.
Vienna is one of the most beautiful cities on the Planet! Visiting Vienna during Christmas time is even more magical.
Vienna offers more than 20 Christmas Markets around the city, all of them offering beautiful crafts, decorations, and amazing local food to try. During Christmas time in Vienna, you can also enjoy ice skating at Rathausplatz.
Salzburg 🇦🇹 Austria
#christmastrip
#christmastrip #freehotelstay
The host of some of the best Christmas markets in Europe, Salzburg is a city that truly shines during winter. With a tradition of over 500 years, Salzburg’s main Christmas market is also one of the oldest on the continent. Held each year on the front steps of the Salzburg Cathedral, Christkindlmarkt is a feast to the senses.
The gorgeous ornament stands, huge Christmas trees, and gleaming lights create a wonderful atmosphere. The wooden stalls offer steaming mulled wine, gingerbread biscuits, punch, and many other tasty treats, along with other local wintery products. Tucked away in pretty squares throughout the city, there are other smaller markets with cheaper prices

The Hohensalzburg Fortress an eye catcher!
The Hohensalzburg Fortress is very big. Truly a real eye catcher
The Hohensalzburg Fortress is one of the biggest castles in Europe.
Hohensalzburg Fortress is a large medieval fortress in the city of Salzburg, Austria. It sits atop the Festungsberg at an altitude of 506 m. It was erected at the behest of the prince-archbishops of Salzburg. The fortress is 250 m long and 150 m wide making it one of the largest medieval castles in Europe.
How to get to the Fortress Salzburg?
An accessible and easy way to get up to the fortress in just under a minute is taking the funicular, which makes the trip every 10 minutes.
But I Walking up to the fortress is also possible and takes around 20 minutes.

Dinner at Akakiko
#celebratewithtrip
Akakiko Japanese Restaurant is in Forum 1 in Salzburg central station. The restaurant offered various japanese cuisine and Korean chicken specialties.
We went there twice to dine in during our stay in Salzburg. The food were great, the price were affordable and the place was very accessible.
The restaurant was always full during our visit. My favourite was the red rice and the miso soup. They mouth-watering and I would highly recommend the restaurant!
I would definitely go back there when I‘ll come visit Salzburg next time.

An Ancient Cemetery in the Heart of the City
#celebratewithtrip
St. Peter‘s cemetery is an oldest cemetery in Salzburg. It is on the foot of Hohensalzburg Castle.
Visiting the cemetery was like a walk from the past. There were tombs that were really old and even century older!
It was a very quiet place even it‘s in the heart of the city where plenty of tourists busy sightseeing while their tourist guides explained the landmarks.
The place was somewhat like a museum. It was well taken cared of, as were there, the gardeners and the care taker of the cemetery were busy cleaning and maintaining the area! The flower beds were best maintained.
St. Peter‘s cemetery is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city of Salzburg.

A city at the foot of the Alps
#celebratewithtrip
Salzburg, Austria is a less than 2 hours train ride from Munich, one of the cities in Germany.
Salzburg Altstadt (old city) is a place where all the historical buildings are. One of them is the Fortress Hohensalzburg.
As a fan of the movie „The Sound of Music“, it is one of the reasons, why I like visiting Salzburg 😊
Some of the scenes of the movie „The Sound Music“ were shot here!
We walked around the city for sightseeing. First thing that we visited was the Fortress! It was so beautiful and as we were there at the top, it was nice looking at the view of the whole city! It was absolutely breathtaking! The old city is a real gem!

Cafe Habakuk
#celebratewithtrip
Cafe Habakuk is at Linzer Gasse 26 in Salzburg.
It is located at the old city near the Fortress.
Cafe Habakuk is one of the cafes that offers the Salzburger Nockerl, a puffy dessert that is a specialty in Austria especially in Salzburg.
Cafe Habakuk is just a walk away if you are in the old city. You can take your break and sit at this cozy cafe with their delicious baked goodies. I would recommend the Salzburger Nockerl. It is worth a try!
The price was fair and the place had a relaxing ambiance. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The baked goodies were tasty!
Enjoying the old city’s view by walking around, you will find a lot of interesting stores and restaurants that will entice your curiosity.
Cafe Habakuk was one of them and we did not regret our choice to have our coffee and cake in that cozy cafe 🥰

Mirabell Gardens
#celebratewithtrip
Mirabell Gardens is one of the popular places in Salzburg.
The place can be reached just by walking from the central train station or even from the old city where the Fortress is.
Some of the scenes of the movie „The Sound of Music“ was shot here, that was why it was busy and full of the movie‘s fans!
Aside from being part of the movie scenes, the Mirabell gardens was a nice place to visit. The garden‘s architecture and arrangements were pleasing and calming. There was a space on the right side of the garden which was perfect for picnic because it was segregated from the garden ,it was quiet and far from the bustling tourists who were curious about the gardens beauty or were fans of The Sound of Music movie.
The Mirabell Gardens has its beauty and charm that one can admire 🥰

Atel Hotel Lasserhof
#celebratewithtrip
This was the hotel where we stayed during our Salzburg vacation.
Atel Hotel Lasserhof is near the Salzburg main train station, stores and restaurants. The hotel room was spacious enough for 3 persons.
The price was fair considering that it is so near at the city center, just some minutes away from the Fortress and the Mirabell castle.
The hotel offers breakfast which was included in the price. I must say, the food they served were good although it was a typical European breakfast but it was a lot with plenty of choices like white and dark bread, cake, croissants, cold cuts and salami, scrambled and boiled eggs, different cereals, different flavoured yoghurt, milk, assorted juices, coffee, tea, some fruits and vegetables like paprika, cucumber, carrots, tomatoes, apples, pear, melon and grapes.
Our stay in Atel Hotel Lasserhof was great!

Salzburg Austria

went deep into the woods in Austria Salzburg during my time here as it was winter and nearing Christmas. wanted to try a sleigh ride over here and I think it was nice that I attempted because the views were great. had to be deep into the woods so that it’s not dangerous and more convenient.
the agency picked me up from the airport and brought me here for a two nights accommodation. nearby there wasn’t really much as it was mostly filled with local and their houses. could grab dinner in the hotel and went for the sleigh ride the next day. the view was good and the mountains icy and pretty. would recommend.
Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart
pretty sure many of us have heard before Mozart who is a great musician. Salzburg is the birth place of Mozart and if you get the chance to visit , you should definitely come by and look at the attractions available. it is a really pretty and one of the most visited museums. especially if you love music then all the more you should be here.
there’s also quite a bit of shopping that can be done in Austria Salzburg. overall it’s a very nice and pretty city with very friendly people. food is also affordable and tasty. would recommend making a visit if you get the chance. the museums and palace are pretty for picture taking.
Obertauern has the most stunning winter panorama. Fantastic skiing too. It's a 360 degree bowl full of lifts, snow and apres-ski parties :)
If you are big fan of Sound of Music, you must come to here to drown into the film. If you are not, you could enjoy the pticuresque viw on the Salzburg Fortress.
The best punching machine in the old town of Salzburg!
1Salzburg Castle
2Kapzina Mountain
3Mounts of the Modern Art Museum (see Salzburg Castle and Capuchina Mountain)/ Hh/Up to the castle's Supreme, Salzburg's Old Town, the Salzach, and the Capzina Mountains have a panoramic view of the castle's Supreme, Salzburg's Old Town, the Salzach The panoramic view of the Capzina Mountains:
The lush cappuccina, the long Salzach River, the majestic Salzburg Castle, and the vicissitudes of the mountains The old town forms the most wonderful scenery of Salzburg!
Salzburg Castle, standing in the center of the city, watching the city for nearly a thousand years, it is the soul of the city!
Recommended season: spring and summer
Salzburg, the winter town that is famous for its explosion, is the famous Mozart hometown. The Mozart head is everywhere, surrounded by the Alps. The snow and blue sky have a unique magical taste, and it is also a paradise for music lovers. There is Mozart University of Music and the annual Mozart Festival, this Mozart town, the winter is beautiful.
Buying a 24-hour city card in Salzburg is the most cost-effective, because on an hourly basis, in addition to watching the Mozart House, the top of the Salzburg Fortress on the Monk Mountain, watching the sunset, you can Salzburg Castle, roaming the streets of the town, going to the most beautiful cathedral, seeing the Bishop's Palace Museum near the Cathedral, the greenhouse of the Mirabell Gardens, and going to Salzburg in winter to come to the culture of the Castle Museum. About, of course, there is time to go to Mount Winters. In the summer, the panoramic view of Sabao is beautiful. If the weather is good in winter, you can go up and see. As long as you have two mountains, you dont count the museum and the city bus. Return the fare. There are many ways to play in Sabao. In winter, you can go to the Salzburg Cultural Center for skiing. In the vicinity of Kings Lake, many residents in the vicinity go skiing there, and the winter snow is also beautiful.
I think the most beautiful punching point is the point on the fortress of Salzburg Castle. There is also a small church on the bank of the river opposite the path that is worn out in the Mirabell Garden. There are no people on the mountain, the scenery is super beautiful, and there is a small bridge in Buck.
In the western part of Austria, there is a small town full of Baroque architecture - Salzburg. This destination, which is very strange to me, is highly recommended to me by a friend who studies music. She said: This is the real music capital in her heart. Salzburg is the birthplace of Mozart, the location of the film "The Sound of Music". In addition, it has spawned many world-renowned musicians. A Salz River divides a city into old and new. The old town is very compact, with churches, monasteries, fountains, shops and restaurants connected, making it ideal for hiking. Mozart is the pride of Salzburg, the Mozart dolls everywhere, Mozart chocolate is a good choice. When you are leaving, go to the Mozart Cafe and enjoy the Salzburg speciality dessert "Sweet as love, gentle as a kiss". Maybe, it will often evoke your thoughts on Salzburg~~
small Tip
Strolling through the city of Salzburg, you can find Mozart everywhere. It can be seen that Mozart has a huge influence on the whole of Salzburg, and there are so many products about him that we can find them here.
The whole city of Salzburg, there is no lack of artistic temperament and figure. I think everything here is also a broken relationship with Mozart. Do you like this city with artistic cells?
Responsible Travel Tips
1 Most shops in Salzburg are closed around 6pm;
2 There are not many restaurants in Salzburg, so dont have to spend it here. Too much thought to eat;
3 If you want to buy souvenirs to go home, Mozart's chocolate is a good choice, the price in the supermarket is better!
More Salzburg travel information, welcome to pay more attention to my Trip.
Salzburg is indeed a place where people feel good.
It has been said that Salzburg, a medieval fan, embodies the artistic aura of the musical prodigy Mozart, and also echoes the joyful chorus of The Voice of Music. Walking into the city, it seems that I have entered an old movie that has never ended. There will always be a variety of actors on the stage, playing the role of life and joy.
Because of the location of the Sound of Music and the birthplace of Mozart, this is a passionate urban atmosphere. The urban area is not too big, and you can walk through the big and small attractions. Street shops, old-fashioned photo studios, carriages and churches, fortress mountains and rivers... the ancient and modern shuttles are really a city that is difficult to describe in words.
Located in the western part of Austria, Salzburg is the gate of the Alps. Salzburg is the oldest city in the territory of Austria today. The city's architectural style is dominated by Baroque. The beautiful Salz River divides Salzburg into two parts: the new city and the old city. The distinctive and historic minaret churches and monasteries, tree-lined gardens and fountains of various shapes form the historic centre of Salzburg. In 1996, the historic centre of Salzburg was listed as a cultural heritage on the World Heritage List.
When Salzburg was also a city-state under the Archbishop's rule, it has been trying to protect the precious city buildings that were built between the Middle Ages and the 19th century. Before she became widely known, she attracted a large number of craftsmen and artists with her flame-like Gothic art. Later, the Italian architects Vincenzo Skamoqi and Sandini Sorari brought a lot of Baroque architecture to the building. Through their works, the city also gained greater popularity. Perhaps it is this blend of Southern and Northern European art that has made Salzburg's most famous genius, Ufgan Amadeus Mozart. Since then
My deepest feelings for Salzburg are blue sky, white clouds, churches, rivers, and life. Here, you can go to the Mirabell Garden and listen to the sound of music; you can go to the Food Hutong No. 9 and visit the birthplace of Mozart; you can climb the Hohensalzburg Castle to see the entire Old Town of Salzburg You can also see the continuation of the musical dream on the street.
The architecture of the city of Salzburg is Baroque and the Salzburg Catholic Church is the most typical of them. Moreover, the entire Old Town of Salzburg is also included in the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. The city is deeply rooted in music and is the birthplace of the musical genius Mozart, where you can see many things related to Mozart, and even the most famous dessert here is called Mozart Chocolate Ball.
The Hohensalzburg Castle is a symbol of Salzburg. Built in 1077, it is the best preserved medieval castle building in the existing castle. The castle is north and south of the city walls. The best view of the city overlooking the old city.
