Shan Dong, a province often called the “Land of Abundance” in China, holds a special place in my heart. Its history is as ancient as it is rich, and the landscapes, people, and culture blend into unforgettable memories. As I reflect on my time there, vivid images and emotions come flooding back, bringing warmth and nostalgia.
I remember my first glimpse of Qingdao’s stunning coastline, where the Yellow Sea meets the land in a breathtaking embrace. The sea air was fresh and salty, filling my lungs as I watched waves crash against the rocks. Along the coastline, locals and tourists alike strolled, and the sight of children laughing as they played in the sand added a simple joy to the scenery. The famous Qingdao Beer Festival was a highlight of my visit—lively, colorful, and brimming with energy. Every sip of the world-renowned Tsingtao beer was a taste of history, a tradition that had been passed down for over a century.
Exploring the historic city of Jinan was like stepping back in time. Known as the “City of Springs,” Jinan is dotted with natural springs, each with its unique character and charm. Baotu Spring, the most famous of them all, drew me in with its crystal-clear water and tranquil surroundings. I was mesmerized by how the springs created a sense of peace, a quiet contrast to the bustling urban life surrounding them. The local people gathered there, engaging in Tai Chi, sharing stories, or simply enjoying the beauty of their city. There was something special about the harmony between nature and city life in Jinan, as if the springs were a gentle reminder of life’s simplicity.
One of my most cherished memories is of Tai Shan, or Mount Tai. Considered one of the “Five Great Mountains” of China, Tai Shan is both a physical and spiritual journey. The climb was challenging, with its steep paths and countless steps, but the experience was unparalleled. I started my ascent before dawn, joining other travelers who were eager to see the sunrise. Step by step, I could feel the air growing thinner, the temperature cooler, yet my excitement only grew. Reaching the summit was a triumph; the panoramic view of the sun rising over the mountains was a sight that words cannot fully capture. In that moment, standing at the peak of Tai Shan, I felt a deep connection to the ancient emperors, scholars, and pilgrims who had made this journey before me.
The food in Shan Dong left a lasting impression as well. The local cuisine, known as Lu cuisine, is one of China’s “Eight Great Culinary Traditions.” Each dish was a celebration of flavor and texture, from the crispy and savory Dezhou braised chicken to the delicate and fragrant scallion pancakes. I’ll never forget my first taste of jiaodong seafood, freshly caught and bursting with flavor. It was a culinary journey that mirrored the richness of Shan Dong’s culture.
But what I hold dearest are the people of Shan Dong. They welcomed me with warmth and kindness, making me feel at home in a place thousands of

Shandong cuisine.
This old restaurant was recommended by a friend from Shandong. The restaurant is hidden in an alley, so just follow the navigation. It's a courtyard-style restaurant. There are many people waiting at the door. Even if it's not mealtime, you have to wait for one or two hours. You can make a reservation by phone in advance. When we just arrived, there was a master singing a comic dialogue, which was very joyful. There is a spring at the door, with some drinks on ice. There are not many seats inside, but you can choose to share a table. There are watermelons and tea provided when you are waiting.
Nine-turn large intestine: It can be said that it is a must-eat dish of Lu cuisine. My friend is good, so I ordered a small portion. It is sweet and sour. I like it very much. It is served with hawthorn to relieve greasiness.
Spring water carp: The fish meat is inevitably old and has many thorns, which is not the reason for this restaurant.
Cream reed: Jinan specialty. I have never eaten reed before and I am very curious. It tastes a bit like water bamboo shoots. The soup is delicious.

This isn't Sichuan, it's Shandong! An undeveloped, beautiful mountain village.
Escape the hustle and bustle during the holidays! Find the tranquility in my heart.
The mountains here are clear and the water is beautiful⛰️💧, few people come here, and it has almost retained the original appearance of the mountain village.
My friend said that the scenery is comparable to Guilin? There is also a bit of Sichuan style.
In any case, the mobile phone lens cannot fully capture its beauty!!! And the weather is also very pleasant. I am so satisfied.
📍Direct navigation to Zhenmenyu
The scenery along the way is different, and it is beautiful.
When you are tired, you can also taste the authentic farmhouse feast!!! What a great day

It's really not the Shandong version of the Maldives jelly sea abroad!❗️❗️
Shandong hides a secluded little island
It is located at the northernmost tip of Shandong Province
99% of people don't know about this treasured island
It's small in size with a resident population of over 800 households
Yet it turns the Bohai Sea into our inland sea
And only Chinese people can set foot on the island
Coordinates: Beicheng Island
About transportation🚢
Penglai Pengchang Passenger Port by boat
Be sure to choose the 8:00 AM departure of the Xunxian 12 passenger boat at 85/person, it takes about 4 hours to arrive
This boat is only on sale at 6:00 AM on the same day, so you must buy it right on time, and the return boat is at noon 12:00 (can only be booked at the dock, not on the phone)
About accommodation🏠
I stayed at the Yunfan Homestay next to the beach, which provides port transfers and includes three meals, the food is very good
About sightseeing and check-ins✅
There is absolutely no commercial development on the island
The island scenery is very, very pristine
This island is just perfect for a leisurely vacation🏖
1⃣️ Guanyin Reef, jelly glass sea with sea erosion landforms make for great photo check-ins
2⃣️ Mountain top lighthouse sunset, you can always trust the sunset glow on the top of the island mountain
3⃣️ Mountain top helipad overlooking the entire island, the whole glass sea at a glance
4⃣️ Yunfan Camp beach experience: paddleboarding/kayaking/diving/swimming/fishing/tide chasing/beach self-service BBQ

The pristine island is too perfect for a vacation to just lie flat
I've been there twice and haven't had enough fun because this time the water was a bit cold and I didn't swim or dive, I will go again in the summer vacation (the sea here is clear all year round and perfect for swimming, diving, and fishing)

Weihai International Seaside Resort
The entire beach is purple. I never expected China to have such a beautiful purple-themed beach. It's stunning. This hidden gem in Weihai City, Shandong Province, is a niche spot for check-ins. The climate here is clear throughout the year, with warm winters and cool summers, making it a sweat-free travel destination. You can sit under a sun fan and enjoy sunbathing. It is reported that in addition to the purple theme, there are also pink and white beaches nearby, offering a full vacation feel.

Spring Delight in Shandong's Qingdao 🌸🌊
#cherryblossom2024
Every late March and April,
On the shores of the Yellow Sea, Qingdao transforms,
Into a vibrant city of flowers. 🌺
Here, it's not just catkins adorning the streets,
But a delightful misty breeze carrying fluttering petals. 🌬️🌸
Amidst this floral paradise,
One can't help but recall the verse,
"Facing the sea, with spring flowers blossoming."
With its red brick buildings, green tiled roofs, and endless blue skies,
Qingdao stands as an island city adorned with cherry trees,
Transporting you into a realm of pink fairy tales. 🏝️
Stroll through the flower-lined streets of the old city,
Seeking the gentle caress of the spring breeze,
As the wind whispers secrets,
And cherry blossoms sway in harmony. 🌸🌬️
The entire cherry blossom avenue becomes a cascade of pink petals,
A mesmerizing pink rain showering Qingdao,
Inviting you to revel in the beauty of flowers by the sea. 🌊🌸 #Shandong #Qingdao #SpringFlowers #CherryBlossoms #SeaView #FloralParadise

A Journey Through Shandong Flavors
Shandong, with its mountains and seas, fertile lands stretching thousands of miles, is located downstream of the Yellow River. The province enjoys a mild climate and features a diverse topography including rivers, lakes, hills, plains, and the sea, which contribute to the exceptionally rich and balanced selection of ingredients for Shandong cuisine. The best cooking techniques vary for each ingredient, and the abundance of ingredients has directly inspired the richness and diversity of Shandong culinary methods. Blessed with unique natural resources, and infused with the Confucian pursuit of 'never tiring of refinement, never tiring of delicacy' for over two thousand years, Shandong has cultivated the grandeur of its cuisine.

Strolling down Yinyu Alley in Qingdao is truly a unique pleasure
The alley seems to hide endless surprises, waiting for every visitor to explore. Last Saturday, I stumbled into this charming area and was immediately attracted by its unique ambiance.
The shops along the street are distinctive, especially the vintage and artistic second-hand clothing stores, which seem to transport you through time, immersing you in the atmosphere of bygone days. Every item in the store exudes a unique charm, making it an excellent photography spot for enthusiasts. The scenery of Xilingxia Road is equally stunning, walking along the road is like being in a beautiful painting.
Although it was an overcast day with less than ideal lighting, and I couldn't take satisfactory selfies without a tripod, this did not diminish my fondness for the area. If you also plan to travel to Qingdao, consider adding Yinyu Alley and Xilingxia Road to your itinerary. I believe you will be captivated by the charm of this place, just like I was.

In Zibo, living in the grey tiles and red bricks, enjoying a quiet corner alone
Living in the grey tiles and red bricks, enjoying a quiet corner alone. Some people like the small bridges and flowing water in the south of the Yangtze River, but for me, I prefer the unique charm of the new Chinese-style architecture.
In this poetic scenery, it seems that I can hear the memories of thousands of years ago. This time in Zibo, I wanted to get away from the city's hustle and bustle on the weekend, to take a break for myself. The choice of this Zhiweizhai·Wenchang Academy Hotel allowed me to enjoy a free time.
The design of the private courtyard, the four words of Wenchang Academy are quietly written on the plaque, but just looking at them seems to be in the loud reading.
The courtyard is full of grey tiles and red bricks, the ancient wooden eaves and various green plants, without having to go far, you can get a pure land in the city center, enjoying the quiet and freedom of half a day's leisure.
The room is also very comfortable to live in, antique, with a unique charm, drinking tea and reading books. If you come with friends, you can also chat, it's very cozy!
It's the ideal vacation life~

Shandong is a big province for eating insects in China. Most of the people here will eat some insects on weekdays. Eating insects may not be the one they love to eat, nor the hunters that eat the taste of the mountains and seas, but the edible insects are rich. Containing extremely high protein and rich nutrition, for Shandong fellow, insects can be said to be a nutrient.
Bean worm, I have seen videos and pictures of eating it many times, or the first time I want to stuff it into my mouth. I always worry that there will be juice bursting out, but its okay, outside.
Cocoon is actually acceptable to most people. Dry cocoon is the favorite of the dean. Friendly suggestion: The black part of the cocoon cannot be eaten.
This should be the legendary golden dragonfly, the taste is very good, there is chewing, it is not the Tang Yan meat.
Actually, the taste of the worm is still good, especially after frying. Basically, it is no different from small snacks. It would be a pity if you dont feel a banquet in Shandong.

Shandong Lushan, came here, can not see the lakes and mountains on both sides of the strait, the birds that are not enough to hear the sound. Away from the heat of the city, the mood is also a lot better. The beautiful green hills and the sparkling light water, the birds and flowers are all sent to the dream, and they are invisible. I love the hometown of Shandong and love the beautiful scenery of Linyi!

There is an ancient village 75 kilometers away from Jinan. It is one of the sources of the ancient Silk Road in northern China. It has existed since the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. When the Emperor Qianlong passed through here, he personally gave it the first village in the world. This is Zhoucun in Zibo, Shandong. Walking in the ancient village of Zhoucun, it is like walking into the old time, the bricks and bricks, the houses are in awe. The ancient buildings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties are about 50,000 square meters. The streets are not wide. There are many shops on both sides. Many of them are 100-year-old. When it comes to Zhoucun biscuits, it is far more famous.
