I had an amazing experience visiting Vrana Park in Sofia during autumn! 🍂 The park was absolutely stunning, with the trees displaying vibrant hues of red, orange, and yellow. Walking through the winding paths, I felt like I was in a fairy tale. The entrance is free, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll without breaking the bank.
I spent hours exploring the beautifully landscaped gardens, taking in the fresh air and capturing photos of the picturesque scenery. The Royal Palace of Vrana, located within the park, added a touch of history to my visit. After my walk, I found a cozy bench to relax and enjoy a warm cup of coffee from a nearby café. ☕

I recently spent a lovely day at the Royal Palace of Vrana Playground in Sofia, and it was a fantastic experience! 🌳 Located within the beautiful grounds of the Royal Palace, this playground is perfect for families and offers a peaceful retreat from the city hustle. The entrance to the grounds is free, making it a budget-friendly outing.
The playground itself is well-maintained and features various play structures, swings, and slides, all surrounded by lush greenery. It’s a great place for kids to run around and have fun! After enjoying some time at the playground, I explored the palace gardens, which are stunning and filled with vibrant flowers. 🌼
Nearby attractions include the palace museum and the beautiful park areas where you can relax. If you’re in Sofia, this is a delightful spot for both kids and adults!

I just spent a few days in Sofia, Bulgaria, and it was an enriching experience! 🇧🇬 The city is a beautiful blend of history and modernity, with stunning architecture at every turn. I visited the iconic Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, which is free to enter, and it took my breath away with its golden domes and intricate frescoes.
Strolling through Vitosha Boulevard was a highlight—it's lined with charming cafés and shops. I enjoyed a delicious meal at a local restaurant for around 25 BGN, where I tried traditional Bulgarian dishes like banitsa and shopska salad. 🍽️
I also made a day trip to Vitosha Mountain, just a short drive from the city, where I hiked some lovely trails and enjoyed breathtaking views of Sofia below. The public transport is easy to navigate, making it simple to explore. If you’re looking for a destination rich in culture and natural beauty, Sofia is definitely worth a visit!

HOTEL WITH EXCELLENT LOCATION IN SOFIA!
Sofia Center is the city’s cultural and political hub. It’s known for grand neoclassical buildings like the National Assembly and the Council of Ministers, which overlook formal green spaces such as City Garden. Gold-domed Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is a symbol of Bulgarian independence. Concerts and plays draw big audiences at venues like the Ivan Vazov National Theater and National Palace of Culture.
Positives are definitely flexible and helpful front desk team. However hotel still remembers previous era (even though we received renovated room on 9th floor). Swimming pool and spa area rather hectic & crowded so not recommended for travellers who want to calm down

COZY HOTEL NEAR THE AIRPORT!
Located In the sleek towers with views of the Vitosha Mountains, this upmarket hotel is 2 km from Sofia International Airport and 9 km from the National Art Gallery.
Perfect location for travellers from and to Sofia airport, both for business and pleasure. We were pleasantly surprised for being upgraded to an apartment without extra fees simply because the hotel reception thought we would feel more comfortable in a larger area. The rooms were very clean, spacious and there was e fantastic view of the mountains and the city. The shuttle service was available when needed and the restaurant staff and chef made sure the food arrived quickly and it was both delicious and enough for the price we were expected to pay. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere during a long journey from Europe to North America. We are truly grateful for the experience at the hotel. Greatly recommend it!

Banya Bashi Mosque (Bulgarian: Баня баши джамия, Banya bashi dzhamiya; Turkish: Banya Başı Camii) is a mosque in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The mosque was designed by the famous Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan and completed in 1566, during the years the Ottomans had control of the city. The mosque derives its name from the phrase Banya Bashi, which means many baths. In the Turkish language Banyo means bath and Baş (pronounced Bash) means 'head' or 'main', so looking at the location it is built on, a more logical translation of the name would be 'Head of the bath mosque'. The most outstanding feature of the mosque is that it was actually built over natural thermal spas; one can even see the steam rising from vents in the ground near the mosque walls. The mosque is famous for its large dome, diameter 15m, and the minaret.

The City Garden (Bulgarian: Градска градина, Gradska gradina) is Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria's oldest and most central public garden, in existence since 1872. It is located between Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard to the north, Knyaz Alexander Battenberg Street to the west and Joseph Vladimirovich Gourko Street to the south, in the historical centre of the city.
Originally arranged in the last years of the Ottoman rule of Bulgaria, it was radically transformed immediately after the Liberation of Bulgaria in 1878 and the choice of Sofia as the capital the following year under the city architect Antonín Kolář on the initiative of the temporary governor Pyotr Alabin. The alley network was reorganized, new plants were added, as well as a low wooden fence, a coffeehouse and a kiosk for musicians. The garden was initially named the Alexander II Garden in honour of Russian tsar Alexander II, who initiated the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-78, which led to the Liberation of Bulgaria.
