Cruise in Norway Georanger Fjord 🗺️
#cruisetrip
Just got back from the most incredible cruise through Norway's Geiranger Fjord, and WOW, what an experience! 🛳️ This place is a true natural wonder, and it’s easy to see why it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site. The cruise was reasonably priced, around $50 for a two-hour tour, which I think is totally worth it considering the stunning views. The fjord is surrounded by towering cliffs and lush green mountains, with waterfalls cascading down everywhere you look. The most famous ones are the Seven Sisters and the Suitor waterfalls, which we got super close to! 🌊
I spent most of the time on the deck, just soaking in the scenery and taking a million photos. The water is this deep blue-green color, and it’s so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom in some places. 🏞️ The cruise guide was really informative, sharing legends and stories about the fjord, like how the Seven Sisters got their name. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some seals or porpoises swimming alongside the boat!
After the cruise, I explored the charming village of Geiranger. I highly recommend checking out the Norwegian Fjord Centre for a bit of history on the area and some interactive exhibits. There’s also a hike up to Flydalsjuvet viewpoint for a breathtaking panorama of the fjord – the perfect spot for those iconic Norway pics! 📸

Geirangerfjord Itinerary: Norway's Most Magnificent Natural Scenery
During my trip to Geirangerfjord, I experienced Norway's most magnificent natural scenery.
Starting from Oslo, I took a train through the fjords, with picturesque views along the way that were truly refreshing. Upon arriving at the fjord, I opted for a boat tour. The cliffs on both sides were steep, and waterfalls cascaded down, making it feel like a fairyland. Along the way, I also visited small villages deep within the fjord, experiencing the simple local customs and peaceful lifestyle.
In the evening, I stayed at a hotel near the fjord. Through the window, I could see the fjord's night view, with starlight reflecting off the shimmering water, creating a stunning scene. This trip gave me a profound appreciation for the unique charm of Geirangerfjord and left me with unforgettable memories.
The Geiranger Fjord
The Geiranger Fjord is a fjord in the Sunnmøre region of Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located entirely in the Stranda Municipality. It is a 15-kilometre -long branch off the Sunnylvsfjorden, which is a branch off the Storfjorden. The small village of Geiranger is located at the end of the fjord where the Geirangelva river empties into it. The fjord is one of Norway's most visited tourist sites. In 2005, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, jointly with the Nærøyfjorden. This status was challenged by the disputed plans to build power lines across the fjord. A car ferry, which doubles as a sightseeing trip, is operated by Fjord1 Nordvestlandske. It runs lengthwise along the fjord between the small towns of Geiranger and Hellesylt. The fjord is scheduled to require zero-emissions ships in 2026. #scenicspotguide

Norway’s fjords offer one of the most dramatic and awe-inspiring landscapes in the world. Taking a boat trip through Geirangerfjord or Nærøyfjord, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites, allows you to witness towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and deep blue waters. For hiking enthusiasts, Trolltunga and Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) offer some of the most scenic treks in Europe. After a day of exploring, relax in a cozy cabin and watch the Northern Lights dance across the sky. How beautiful can the fjords of Norway really be
How beautiful can the fjords of Norway really be
During the years I've spent in Europe, I've visited many places, but Norway and Switzerland remain what I consider the ceiling of European natural scenery. The common problem is
the same expensive, except for expensive no problem
The summer in the Nordic countries is really too beautiful, short but incredibly gorgeous. Just like the extremely bright natural light in a Bergman film. Dazzling and enchanting, as if in a dream. Especially the midnight sun, that kind of light is very addictive, a rare extreme experience, yet it doesn't feel fleeting.
Almost every turn is a view of the fjord, countless fjords passed, and numerous waterfalls seen. Because the winter snow is melting, this is the season when the waterfalls have a considerable amount of water.
The happiest thing is to live in a little house next to a waterfall, opening the window in the morning to see the mist hovering between the mountains, the world is still at that moment, even the wind dares not speak. It reminds me of my favorite line from the movie Picnic at Hanging Rock.
'Later they got married and lived in a little house with a waterfall next to it. The waterfall was quite loud, so they only danced at home without talking because you couldn't hear anything anyway'
You see, sometimes the most romantic expression may not require words.
Here's the travel guide
9 Geiranger Fjord, there are cruises to admire the Seven Sisters Waterfall, which I personally think is more worthwhile than the cruise in the Norway in a Nutshell.
P Nearby are two famous scenic routes: Trollstigen, the Troll's Path
and Ornesvingen, the Eagle's Road. Combined, these two roads make up the Golden Route, which is actually Norway's National Road 63. The opening times each year depend on the melting snow, usually from June to October. You can drive yourself (recommended) or take a bus, but note that buses are only available in the high season and there are not many of them.
P Following National Road 63 northward, the endpoint is Andalsnes, a relatively less popular but highly enjoyable small town. Continuing north from here connects to the famous Atlantic Road. You can also take the scenic Rauma line train, passing through Europe's tallest Devil's Wall. Personally, I think the scenery is average, because the most beautiful scenery in Norway is all on the road

Girls' weekend getaway
We had an amazing roadtrip last weekend this September 2022. First, was to see the beautiful town of Geiranger down to the city of Trondheim. It was really a great adventure because of the beautiful sceneries we have seen. Another thing was the road that was really a bit scary, looked like we were inside a chicken intestine.🤣lol.
