In Lingnan, there is actually a garden with Jiangnan characteristics—Zhan Garden! 🏠 Covering an area of hundreds of acres, the architecture, water system, and vegetation are cleverly integrated together. With blue bricks and gray tiles, flying eaves, and winding corridors, you can spend half a day wandering and taking photos inside. ⛅️
📷 Recommended Photo Spots
1️⃣ Filial Piety Hall
Inside the hall, you can use the windows as frames for your photos. Outside the hall, the Hundred Steps Wealth Road can create a sense of depth in your pictures.
2️⃣ Shanyuan Bridge
On the bridge, you can use the ancient-style buildings on both sides. Standing next to the pavilion, you can capture a strong Jiangnan vibe.
3️⃣ Siheyuan (Courtyard House)
Using the circular and square door frames, any framed composition looks great. When the sun is out, the shadows of the trees cast on the windows or walls create a poetic scene.

✅Jianzai River Fresh Restaurant
Strictly selected by locals, river fresh food is not afraid of deep alleys, sit by the roadside to eat river fresh food and watch the sunset, savoring the mundane world.
Ginger and scallion fried crab🦀, river shrimp, steamed sole, the taste is delicious, many people come here for its reputation.
✅Fengchu Shunde Fu Congee City
A very hardcore late-night snack, pig offal congee🍲 is very delicious, but my favorite is their signature lemongrass baked Zhanjiang chicken, special fresh pepper steamed boneless side fish🐟.
A new life experience, the first time eating a late-night snack outside and suddenly it started pouring rain, hurriedly grabbing food and continuing to eat.
✅Maiyu Tian Restaurant
An old shop in Shenwan, here I had a pineapple feast, tried the local specialty Hechong, and for the first time tasted so many forms of pineapple.

May Day Travel Portal | Yixian Lake Park in Zhongshan
I finally made it to the other side of the Anywhere Door, the treasure town of Zhongshan in Guangdong!
Traveling in Zhongshan, walking in the park on a rainy day, I found happiness in Yixian Lake Park!
/
The park was originally a piece of farmland and ponds, which were excavated by local people as voluntary labor. Later, to commemorate the great man Sun Yat-sen, the original "Artificial Lake Park" was renamed "Yixian Lake Park".
/
The park is located in the center of the city, adjacent to Zhongshan Park, and it's also close to Sun Wenxi Road pedestrian street when walking. You can even see a Ferris wheel inside the park.
/
The whole park is built around the lake, with bridges and pavilions on the lake, and many resting pavilions along the lake shore, which are places for locals to rest and enjoy the view.
/
The scenery inside the park is beautiful and green. Walking in the park in the rain, the greenery is even more refreshing, and it's really comfortable!
Strolling around, or opening up the camera, it's all very nice~
/
🚗Transportation strategy:
The nearest bus stop nearby is the Overseas Chinese New Village, accessible by bus route 018, near the east gate.

Zhongshan's first international brand five-star chain hotel
🏨 Sheraton Zhongshan Hotel
❤Recommended Reason:
You can overlook the night view of Zhongshan's Qijiang Riverbank, a nice place around Guangzhou for a two-day one-night culinary exploration of Zhongshan. This city is full of culinary heritage, perfect for a weekend getaway.
🌟Highlights:
The Sheraton Zhongshan Hotel is the first international brand chain hotel in Zhongshan, located by the Qijiang River, boasting the beautiful scenery of both banks of the river, mainly catering to business travelers.
Located in the city center's traditional bustling business district, adjacent to Qijiang Park, it's a 5-minute walk to Sun Wenxi Road pedestrian street, with many popular attractions nearby! Access is also very convenient.
The hotel lobby is grand and spacious. It has complete facilities, including a gym, a rooftop swimming pool, and a sauna with a massage bath.
🛏Room Facilities:
The rooms are spacious, clean, and tidy. Through the window, you can see the scenery of both sides of the Qijiang River! From the room, you can see the Ferris wheel in Qijiang Park across the river, which is quite romantic at night.
Welcome amenities include sparkling water and a small fruit plate (the hotel may forget about it, and among the three rooms checked in together, one was missed).
It's an older hotel, but it's maintained okay, however, the TV is really too old and the picture is snowy.
🍽Dining Recommendations:
Breakfast includes bread, western sausages, bacon, and porridge noodles.

Cliffside Flower Sea in Zhongshan! The flowers in the south are still blooming brilliantly
Cliffside really spoils its fans! After the rice fields are harvested, a large field of Gesang flowers is planted for everyone to check in. You can see it from afar at the Cliffside archway. When you get to the scene, you find it's too shocking, the endless sea of flowers seems to have entered the world of oil paintings.
The 320-acre Gesang flower field in Yakou Village, Nanlang Street, has entered its peak blooming period. Flowers bloom into a sea, and tourists come in droves to enjoy the romantic atmosphere of winter.

𝐃𝐀𝐘𝟐: Sun Yat-sen West Road Pedestrian Street——Zhongshan Hakka Zhuang Earth Building Restaurant——Xiangshan Bookstore

🏨Hotel Guide:
The hotel I stayed in this time is Zhongshan Poly Le Meridien Hotel. I was fascinated by the Art Gate as soon as I arrived. I saw the black and gold style Chuangyi lobby when I entered. I stayed in the exploration suite. The floor-to-ceiling window design can overlook the entire Zhongshan city. The low-saturated Morandi color in the room gave me a feast for my eyes. The Cantonese cuisine in the Chinese restaurant also made me surrender to the authentic taste of the old Guangdong. The entire hotel has about 20 check-in points, from the first floor lobby/afternoon tea restaurant to the Chinese/Western restaurant, and then to the Le Meridien Executive Lounge, which satisfies all my fantasies about city resort hotels~

1⃣️The first picture is from Zhongshan Hakka Zhuang Earth Building Restaurant, where you can take the same cover as Big Fish & Begonia~
2⃣️Pictures 234 are from Xiangshan Bookstore, a masterpiece of Zhongshan architectural aesthetics. The minimalist style is very photogenic~
3⃣️Picture 5 is from Sun Yat-sen West Road Pedestrian Street, known as the "Little Macau of Guangdong", the European style and Nanyang arcade combine Chinese and Western styles are very suitable for strolling~
4⃣️Pictures 67 are from Zhongshan Museum, which has a total area of 25,000 square meters and three floors, which can be visited for 3 hours
5⃣️The remaining pictures are all from Zhongshan Poly Le Meridien Hotel, the black and white style is high-end no matter how you take it~

Stroll in the park!
If you are looking for the perfect place to take a leisurely night time stroll, then you have found the perfect place! This park offers some great spots to chill and enjoy the the surroundings or just walk around. Being one of the biggest parks in Zhongshan, it can even be used to get some exercise in, lots of steps that would get that cardio action going. This was the first time going there and I am glad I went in the night because I fell in love with it instantly; it is clean, peaceful and quiet. It is approximately 5-7 mins drive from Lihe Square by DiDi and costs about 7 yuan. Next visit will be in the day to see what it's like but I can say for sure, night time is a must! #nightmood #scenicspotguide #unforgettableexperiences

Zhongshan Hiking | This niche route is really amazing
I drove from Foshan to Zhongshan for an hour on the weekend and found a beautiful niche route. There are not many people along the way, the scenery is pleasant, and the recent weather in Guangdong is very cool and suitable for climbing!
Along the way, you will see Changkeng Waterfall, Xiaolan Reservoir, bamboo forest streams... I also met people who brought dogs to climb the mountain. The dogs were so happy playing in the stream~ The waterfall is not large now, and you can directly climb up to the top in the waterfall! If you come after a heavy rain or in summer, you will see a spectacular waterfall pouring down!
1️⃣Transportation location
📍Navigate to "Xianzong Longyuan"
Note‼️No need to enter the park, go in from the left side of the park gate, you will see the big words "He Ping Village", next to it is a whole bamboo forest, this is the starting point for hiking, you can start using the two-step route navigation to follow as soon as you enter the bamboo forest, the uphill starts almost from the starting point~
2️⃣Route strategy
☑️The whole journey is about 8㎞, and it takes 3 hours
☑️Open "Two Steps", 🔍Changkeng Reservoir, there are many clear hiking routes, you can click to open the route navigation and follow the mark
☑️It takes about 2 hours to climb from the starting point to Changkeng Waterfall. The first two hours are basically continuous uphill, which will be more tiring. After the waterfall, it is all flat. Follow the reservoir all the way to the end (the end point is the starting point)
☑️There is a place to sell water at the starting point, and there are wild roads along the way without supplies, so remember to bring enough drinking water
☑️There will be a long downhill road when approaching the waterfall, which is very steep, and the dirt road and gravel are easy to slip, it is recommended to wear non-slip hiking shoes and bring hiking poles
☑️The entrance to the mountain is not always open on holidays, and if it is not allowed to enter, you can change to other entrances to the mountain, Nankengwei (Zhongye Camp), He Ping Village (Xianzong Longyuan), we started climbing from He Ping Village
☑️Some mountain roads are quite dangerous, not all are regular roads, there are mud and many gravel mountains, pay attention to wear non-slip shoes
☑️There will be a long way without signal in the mountain, it is recommended to load the hiking map in advance
☑️Pay attention to mosquito and tree branch scratches, it is recommended to wear long sleeves and trousers, I wore shorts and got a few scratches
☑️Walk well!! Because many roads are on the edge of the cliff and very steep

Hiking in Guangdong, I discovered another less-known but stunning route
I drove from Foshan to Zhongshan in an hour on the weekend and took a less-known hiking route. Along the way, there were beautiful reservoirs with clear, emerald-green water that looked like jade under the sunlight. There were also clusters of Metasequoia growing in the water. In this season, they were a mix of yellow and orange, very bright and colorful. My favorite stop was the Changkeng Waterfall, which was very spectacular. Unfortunately, the water flow was relatively small at this time. If you come after a heavy rain or in the summer, you will see a magnificent and surging waterfall pouring down!
.
1️⃣Transportation location
📍Navigate to 'Xianzong Longyuan'
Note‼️You don't need to enter the park. Walk in from the left side of the park gate, and you will see the big characters of 'He Ping Village'. Next to it is a whole bamboo forest, which is the starting point of the hike. You can start following the route navigation of 'Two Steps Road' once you enter the bamboo forest. The uphill climb starts almost immediately from the starting point.
2️⃣Route guide
☑️The whole journey is about 8km, taking about 3 hours (if you want to rest and play at the waterfall, it is recommended to reserve an extra hour)
☑️Open 'Two Steps Road', 🔍Changkeng Reservoir, there are many clear hiking routes, you can follow the marked route navigation
☑️You can reach Changkeng Waterfall about 2 hours after climbing from the starting point. The first two hours are basically continuous uphill, which can be tiring. After the waterfall, it's all flat road. Follow the reservoir all the way to the end (the end point is the starting point)
☑️There is a place to buy water at the starting point, and there is no supply along the way, so remember to bring enough drinking water (we went after lunch, so we only brought water up the mountain, traveling light)
☑️When approaching the waterfall, there will be a long downhill road, which is very steep, and the dirt road is easy to slip, it is recommended to wear non-slip hiking shoes and bring a hiking stick.
.
In the hustle and bustle of life and work, spend more time with nature on weekends, and less time entangled with people~

Zhongshan | A good place to relax - Hiking at Changkeng Reservoir
🚗Traffic location: Navigate to Xianzong Longyuan
📌Intimate TIPS:
1️⃣The journey is quite long, be sure to prepare enough drinking water and hydrate in time to avoid dehydration⚠️
2️⃣Enough dry food to replenish energy in time⚠️If possible, prepare some energy bars for quick replenishment. The road conditions change constantly🆘
3️⃣Be prepared with professional anti-slip hiking shoes and hiking poles
4️⃣The trees and plants are low, the flowers and grass are high, pay attention to the top of your head and body being scratched and distinguish the road, do not go wrong
5️⃣Protect yourself, protect the environment

Zhongshan Qixi Village, a hidden gem
Doesn't it feel like you've arrived at a fairy tribe hidden in the forest? Qixi Village in Wugui Mountain is a new favorite for Zhongshan tourism, hidden deep in the beautiful Wugui Mountain. There are many camping bases here, such as Above the Wilderness, Xixiangtian, etc. Each place has the originality of the forest, the wildness of the camp, and the beauty of the countryside. Find a holiday, come to Qixi Village, fish in the mountain stream, harvest in the field, have a cup of coffee, empty yourself, it's a good choice. Winter is here, but the weather in Zhongshan is still mild.
FREYA MAY
You will really miss out if you don't come to Zhan Garden during the May Day holiday.
Strolling through the market in the largest private garden in Lingnan, it can be said to be unique to Zhongshan. All kinds of popular snacks can be found here. Remember to bring your 256G stomach to check in!
Strolling to the quadrangle, the air is filled with the aroma of coffee. When tired, you can sit down and make tea around the stove, chatting with a few close friends. It's really cozy and comfortable!
During the May Day holiday, there were also dance performances. Both visually and gastronomically, everything was taken care of 360 degrees. This time, Zhan Yuan really did a great job.

But the infinite beauty of the sunset, why worry about the approaching dusk? 🌇💕
In Zhongshan, the most joyful sunset I've ever seen.
Arrived at the destination at 6 o'clock, the clouds were a bit thick at the time. Although the blue sky was beautiful, I already had a premonition that I wouldn't be able to see the kind of "half river shivering, half river red" sunset.
🍽️Food and beverage recommendations:
Walk across the bridge and discover many stalls selling various snacks such as lemon tea, fish balls, chicken feet, and even barbecue. Tables and chairs are also set up by the shore for dining in. While enjoying chicken feet with friends, we noticed the sunset and rushed to the bank of the Sunset River with our chicken feet in hand.
👍Most recommended:
Walking back, I found that it looks better at night (around 7 o'clock). The sunset glow matched with the lights on the bridge, it's really beautiful.
Enjoying the breeze, admiring the scenery, and chatting with friends, it's really comfortable.
📝Attention tips:
Someone is locating Zhangjiawei, and my friend is locating Zhongshan Port Bridge. You can park on the roadside~
Everyone must not litter! Please try to take your trash with you!

The Night Life!
The Zhongshan Film and Television City is hosting a Light and Shadow Art Festival and it's a nice time to enjoy the night life. The good thing is you literally get to enjoy the studio because you have access to the entire place. There is also a performance show with fire 🔥 that starts at about 9:30 pm. Additionally there are food and toy vendors, plus you can rent traditional clothes.
Address: No. 85, Cuiheng Avenue, Cuiting Village, Zhongshan City
Date: August 19 to October 07
Time: 5:30 pm - 11:00 pm (need to make a reservation). Once you purchase the ticket, you'll get a text message with the link to making the reservation. I bought mine for 39.90 yuan on douyin. It seems the price keeps rising because I heard it was 19.90 yuan but for me it was worth visiting.

Time to play boys and girls!
Purchased a ticket to enter plus walk the glass bridge which was 99 yuan, the ferris wheel was 20 yuan, the rail cart thingy 40 yuan and the skyline ride 50 yuan up and down (once at the top you can come off and walk around then head back down). The park is very large so prepare to get those steps in. Not sure if it was the time of day or what, but the park wasn't crowded. To the point where I got to walk the glass bridge alone 😁 good photo op. There is a food court so don't worry if you ran out of water because this heat is no joke. All in all, even though the park is not well kept as it should be, it is a nice place to visit with the family or solo (like me 🤪).

Into The Wetlands!
Located in Zhongshan City, Nanlang Town, Cuiheng National Wetland Park is a nice and relaxing attraction to enjoy being outdoors and just being in nature. It's lush green environment is peaceful and calming. Once you arrive, you'll take the ferry to cross the river to get into the actual park. Note that the ferry runs every half hour. Once on the other side, it is very large so prepare to do lots of walking however they have carts that take you from the main entrance into the park. There are several buildings with educational and historical items to view and enjoy plus a restaurant. This is definitely a recommended site if you are an outdoors person or just looking to enjoy nature or a stroll 😁. #gooutside #nationalpark #naturalwonders #wetland #parks #nature #outdoors #countryside #summervacation

Quanyan Hot Springs ~ Relax and Enjoy!
Quanyan Hot Springs is a nice relaxing place to enjoy your day and soak away those sore and tired muscles. There are quite a number of individual springs, that can fit up to five persons and others a lot more. The temperatures for each varies, some up to 44 degrees 🥵. If you don't want to use the springs or steam rooms, there are other options available like getting a massage (additional charges) or you can bring some card/board games. It is suitable for families, couples or solo. There are also play areas for kids, wet and dry. Quanyan offers buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a wide variety of food selection. If however, you get hungry outside of the designated times for buffets, there are small shops you can buy snacks. #decembertravel #unforgettableexperiences #hotsprings #relaxation

Trip back in time ~ Lights, camera, action!
Great place to visit and maybe shoot a few films/tiktok vids/photos of your own while you're at it. Entrance fee is ¥65 (if I remember correctly 😅). If you want to visit every inch of it, be prepared to spend approximately 2-5 hours give or take, depending on your walk speed and how long you take at each area. There are different themed attractions based on some countries USA, Japan, China, UK etc. and also areas you can sit and enjoy the scenery around. For the Japan area, you can rent clothes to do photoshoots and they also have professional photographers around if you don't mind the costs. Don't worry if you get thirsty or peckish, there are a few vendors around you can get snacks and drinks. It's a good place to go solo (like I did 😋) or with friends, family, anyone! Enjoy! #scenicspotguide #unforgettableexperiences #decembertravel

Let's go to the zoo!
Fairly decent zoo with enough animals to keep the children entertained and exploring. They have animal shows throughout the day and you get opportunity to take photos with some of the animals like the parrots. The park is in the same area so can have a picnic as well. Overall nice place to be with the family or anyone looking to explore their surroundings.

Fufengwen Pagoda is a octagon pagoda with 24.5M height of 7 stories located in the city center, and one of the 10 New Scenery spots in Zhongshan.
It only takes 8-10 minutes to walk up to the pagoda, which I really liked as there were so various species of trees. Unfortunately, the pagoda wasn't open to visit inside it nor climb up. But it's still a very beautiful and nice place for a visit.

Dajian Mountain(大尖山)
Dajian Mountain(391m high) is part of Wuguishan(highest: 531m)
We started the hike from Zhongshan Shumuyuan(中山树木园) with well paved trails. After 1 hour walk, will arrive the wild route into the wild woods.
It's a nice hike with ups and downs passing through arbors, bamboo forest, observing different insects such as spiders, cicadas, worms, luckily we didn't encounter any snakes.
There is a super steep incline up to the mountain top, but don't worry, there's a rope help you for climbing. If you wanna challenge, you can take this wild trail to the peak, if not, there is also paved stairs.
On the mountain top, there is a store for supplies and a Dajian Temple, where we enjoyed nice view of the mountain ranges and breeze, isn't it quite rewarding after all the way?😉

Jinzhong Reservoir| Various experience
Jinzhong Reservoir is close to Shiqi downtown, easy to arrive with city bus.
It's a nice place to walk, jogging, as well as cycling for all ages with its well paved trails around the reservoir. The area is full of different kinds of trees, flowers, fruits, even a tea plant.
I adore the reservoir not only of it's amazing observation decks(where you can enjoy the lake view and flowers, birds observation, feel the breeze), but also a bridge and an up-hill building(where you can have an overall view of the whole reservoir area with coffee).

There are several walking trails, including a circle route around the lake, and at least some of the smooth, well paved trails are wheelchair accessible, making this a favourite spot for all ages and mobility levels.

Urban Wilderness
Wuguishan (五桂山) in Zhongshan is a huge forested area surrounding several reservoirs, of which the largest is the picturesque Changjiang Reservoir.
The forest is only a short distance from Zhongshan's urban centre and is easily accessible from several places. There are numerous hiking trails criss-crossing the park, but the most popular walk from the north side is to Lion's Head Mountain (狮头山), which offers the best view of the Changjiang Reservoir, as well as Zhongshan's east district. It's not a long walk (it should take most people 30-45 minutes) but it is steep and rough in places, so wear sturdy footwear and bring enough water.
Make sure to carry out your trash and don't pollute the reservoir!
Although Wuguishan is surrounded by dense urbanisation, it feels like a genuine wilderness. Highly recommended for anyone in the area who needs a nature break.
