Trip to Yichang, Enjoying the Three Gorges and Tea Mountains Yichang has a subtropical monsoon climate, with warm winters and cool summers, abundant rainfall, an average annual temperature of 16.9°C, and crisp air carrying the scent of citrus. Morning river mist drapes like gauze, and the evening sun floods the Xiling Gorge entrance, dyeing the river golden red. In the early morning, the sound of the "Xiajiang Haizi" work song drifts from Riverside Park. This tune, passed down from the boatmen of the Three Kingdoms era, includes the line "One shout carries a thousand pounds of strength, one boatload of citrus carries ten thousand feelings," singing the daring spirit of the most dangerous stretch of the Yangtze River. It is also a nationally recognized intangible cultural heritage kept alive. Visitors love to check in at the Three Gorges Folk Village scenic area to see the "Shadow Stone"—four natural giant stones standing by the river, resembling the four pilgrims from Journey to the West. Locals say that walking slowly around the stones at dusk, facing the Yangtze River to make a wish, brings the auspicious sign of "smooth sailing and a future that follows like a shadow." On the first day, stay at the "Riverside Cloud Lodge" scenic homestay in Yiling District. Six people book three river-view rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, at 240 yuan per night, totaling 2880 yuan for four nights. Opening the window reveals the Gezhouba ship lock slowly opening and closing. At night, you fall asleep to the sound of the riverboat’s whistle. Outside the window, stars hang low over the plains, like the same Milky Way Qu Yuan gazed upon while wandering the marshes. On the second day, visit the Three Gorges Folk Village. Don’t just see the Shadow Stone; go barefoot onto the southern bank’s bluestone beach and bend down to touch the four characters "Yong Ji An Lan" (Eternal Peace and Calm) carved by boatmen in the 29th year of Emperor Qianlong’s reign. The characters are worn smooth by the river water; running your fingers over the grooves, the coolness mixed with moisture seeps into your palm. Then take a black-sailed boat through the Dragon Entrance Cave. The boatwoman rows and sings the work song, the sound echoing off the cliffs in layers. Passing through the water curtain, you suddenly see wild Yichang orange branches with green and yellow fruit hanging in the cliff crevices. Pick one, break it open, and the sour fragrance bursts out, juice splashing. On the third day, visit Qu Yuan’s hometown, Lepingli. Don’t just pay respects at the ancestral hall; personally lay out rice paper on the stone desk in the "Reading Cave" east wing of the Qu Yuan Temple. Use a locally made Zigu inkstone to grind ink and copy the rubbings of the Ming dynasty county magistrate’s inscription "Wan Gu Jin Liang" (Eternal Ferry Bridge) on the cave wall. The scent of ink mixed with pine resin fills the air, and as the brush moves, it feels as if you can hear young Qu Yuan reciting the "Ode to the Orange." After leaving the cave, pick up a handful of freshly roasted Dengcun green tea. The tips curl like sparrow tongues. Pour boiling water over it, and the tea soup is tender green and clear, slightly bitter at first but sweet on the finish, with a long-lasting throat melody. On the fourth day, climb the Three Gorges Dam’s Tanziling. Don’t just watch the flood discharge; squat on the west side of the seventh step of the viewing platform and closely examine the bronze boundary marker embedded by engineers before the 2003 reservoir filling. It bears the nine characters "Elevation 135 meters 2003 Dam Construction Record" cast in relief. Tapping it produces a solid echo. In the afternoon, take the sightseeing elevator down to the Diversion Memorial Park. By the giant diversion open channel, buy a bowl of freshly made cold shrimp jelly. The red sugar syrup coats the icy rice jelly, sliding down the throat sweetly and refreshingly. The river breeze brushes your face, and the summer heat vanishes. On the last day, visit the Chexi Folk Tourism Area. Don’t just see the Tujia stilted houses; roll up your sleeves to learn how to pound glutinous rice cakes. The wooden mallet rises and falls, the sticky rice balls tumble in the stone mortar, steam rising, filling the room with the fragrance of rice. Then enter the ancient papermaking workshop to make a sheet of wet paper from mulberry bark pulp, drying it on bamboo screens. Sunlight streams through the window lattice, revealing paper textures as clear as a landscape painting. Before leaving, hold a bundle of freshly brewed corn wine, amber-colored, mellow with a slight spiciness. The aroma of wine mixed with firewood makes your steps slow down by three beats. Yichang people are straightforward yet delicate, speaking with a Sichuan accent tail and Chu dialect aftertaste. When hosting guests, they always offer navel oranges with cold shrimp jelly. If you ask for directions, an uncle will point the way while handing you a peeled orange slice, plump and dripping with juice. In riverside teahouses, elders brew a pot of local Yihong tea. The leaves unfurl like flags, the tea soup is bright red, and casual chats and laughter fill the air. Tapping the lid gently on the cup rim with a clear "ding" sound, life settles steadily. Six people, five days, including transportation, accommodation, food, and tickets, cost 1060 yuan per person, refreshingly affordable. Coming to Yichang is not just passing through a river city, It’s standing at Tanziling listening to tens of thousands of tons of river water rushing by; It’s biting into a Zigu navel orange, the sweet and sour bursting on your tongue; It’s receiving hot tea handed by an old lady at the entrance of the Reading Cave in Lepingli, Watching her white hair framed by mountain light, Smiling and saying, "Drink slowly, the mountain wind is gentle, the river water is unhurried."…

On my second visit to Yichang, I realized that the city's scenery is not limited to the Yangtze River landscape and the Three Gorges... it also hides underrated museums! 🔻🔻 📍Three Gorges Migrant Museum Remember the Three Gorges Dam from textbooks? Walking in here, I finally understood that the dam is not just an engineering project, but also the hometown that 1.3 million people can never return to... Authentic replicas of the underwater old town of Zigui, handwritten letters from migrants, old photos... each one is a scattered hometown But I don’t know why, standing in front of the underwater old town, I suddenly choked up... 🚗 Transportation: Take bus 809 from downtown Yichang ⏰ Opening hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, closed on Mondays 🎫 Free admission: Real-name registration on site is enough 🔻🔻 📍Yichang Museum No exaggeration, this is the most "daring" prefecture-level city museum I have ever visited! Sun People stone carvings, Chu season bronze bells, hanging coffins... it even has well-preserved ancient corpses from the Ming Dynasty! History here is not a cold label, but a tangible story And it feels like a treasure trove gently buried by time, with very few visitors 🚗 Transportation: Take B343 or B313 to Yichang Museum stop ⏰ Opening hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, closed on Mondays 🎫 Free admission: Real-name registration on site is enough 🔻🔻 📍Muyu Island Park If you visit the Three Gorges Migrant Museum, don’t miss the Muyu Island Park right across It hides an amazing 📸 spot to view the Three Gorges Dam!! No fences, no obstructions, almost no people, and even more breathtaking than the dam area itself 📌 Tip: The end of the park is the perfect spot for 📸 shooting the Three Gorges Dam 🔻🔻 I used to think Yichang was only about the Three Gorges, but now I know It is actually a city that hides stories in the river and writes them into museums

Alright, here is a travel guide for the Three Gorges Migrant Museum. Three Gorges Migrant Museum (Wanzhou, Chongqing) Travel Guide Key Highlights: This is the only themed museum in China dedicated to commemorating the million migrants of the Three Gorges Project. Its core is not traditional artifacts, but the collective memory of that magnificent "national action, ethnic epic." Through a large number of physical objects, images, and scene restorations, it deeply showcases the migrants' spirit of "sacrificing their small families for the country" and their hometown affection. Tour Highlights: 1. Basic Exhibition "Great Achievement, Glorious Journey": Systematically understand the entire process of decision-making, implementation, and resettlement of the migration project along a timeline. 2. Immersive Experience: Restored ancient town streets and old house scenes, combined with sound effects, instantly transport you back to the old city before relocation. 3. Emotional Resonance Points: Pay attention to the "Nostalgia" exhibition area, with migrants' handwritten door numbers, old photo walls, and other details that are very touching. Practical Information: · Location: Nanbin Avenue, Wanzhou District, Chongqing (Jiangnan New Area). · Admission: Free, but real-name reservation with ID is required (you can follow the official WeChat public account for operation). · Suggested Duration: 1.5-2 hours, suitable for quiet viewing and reflection. Tour Tips: The museum is built by the river. After visiting, you can take a stroll in the riverside park outside the museum, overlooking the modern scenery of Pinghu Wanzhou. The contrast with the history inside the museum helps you better appreciate the profound meaning behind the word "migrant." This is a memorial hall that requires visiting with respect and contemplation.

Standing on the banks of the Yangtze in Yichang, The river's mist brushes against my face. This museum holds no clashing of swords or armor, Yet harbors stories more poignant than war— The words "Three Gorges Migrants" weigh heavily like a thousand jun. Pushing open the weathered wooden door, A whole brick wall from the demolition zone strikes the eye, Each brick marked with white paint showing its address. Suddenly, I recall Peter Hessler's line in *River Town*: "Residents by the Yangtze spend their lives learning to say goodbye." "If you can't take the Yangtze's water, take a handful of soil." This was the heaviest luggage for 1.35 million migrants when they left. Thinking of Yu Qiuyu's *Where is Home*: "Home is merely the last stop of our ancestors' wanderings." Yet for the Three Gorges people, even this last stop sank beneath the river. The immersive hall's holograms recreate the ancient town before submersion— Children running on bluestone paths, The aroma of cured meat wafting from stilt houses, Teahouse storytellers' voices blending with boatmen's chants... The background hums with local dialect market cries. Leaving the museum at sunset, The river turns gold in the fading light. The deepest nostalgia in this world is never about clinging, But about mustering the Yangtze's courage To regrow roots in unfamiliar soil. At this moment, a line echoes in my ears: "Some disappearances aren't for forgetting, But for letting the river remember on our behalf." Hubei Three Gorges Migration Museum 9:00-17:00 (Closed Mondays) Free admission, reservation required

For these 20 photos, I specifically took a Three Gorges cruise. This time, I boarded the Century Glory, traveling upstream from Yichang to Chongqing over 5 days and 4 nights, enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the Yangtze River's Three Gorges all at once. P1, P2: Boarding at Maoping Port. The pastel green cable car, the red barge, and the surrounding mountains create a fairytale-like scene. P3, P4: The Three Gorges Dam. A monumental project of the century, truly magnificent. Even on a cloudy day, the photos resemble traditional Chinese ink paintings. P5: Puppy Mountain. Located in the Xiling Gorge section, this adorable "🐶" is currently a popular spot. It's opposite the Jiuwanxi Bridge in Zigui, and the host will specifically point it out. P6, P7: Goddess Stream. A relatively niche attraction that is easily accessible only by taking a Three Gorges cruise. The scenery on both sides is stunning, though the return trip includes persistent sales pitches from local guides. P8: Wu Gorge. "Apart from the clouds of Wushan, there are no other clouds." Wu Gorge is my favorite among the Three Gorges. P9: Qutang Gorge. The Kui Gate, featured on the 10-yuan RMB note, is a must-see! P10: The first gate of Baidi City. Before entering, climb a short distance to the left and take a photo through the circular gate to avoid the crowds. P11: After passing through the gate in P10, you can buy an ice cream and take a photo with the iconic main gate. P12, P13: On the way down from Baidi City, there are pavilions and stone walls by the river, which are great spots for photos with Kui Gate in the background. P14, P15: Before returning to the dock, don't miss Yidou Gate. Use passing pedestrians to create a time-lapse effect by slowing down the shutter speed. Walking down from the gate to the dock, you can also take great photos through the gate. P16: Fengdu Ghost City. Visiting here feels like crossing the "Gate of Hell," symbolizing a smooth journey in life thereafter. P17, P18: The floating bridge in front of Fengdu Dock is another excellent spot for photos with the ship. P19: Night view of Fuling District, capturing the city lights as they first come on. P20: Arriving at Chongqing's Chaotianmen Dock, this angle of the Raffles City complex can only be captured from the ship. These are essentially the attractions covered during the 5-day, 4-night Three Gorges cruise. If you travel downstream from Chongqing to Yichang, the trip is one day shorter, but the attractions and itinerary are largely the same. The upstream journey from Yichang to Chongqing includes an extra day because the ship doesn't sail on the first night. For more details about the food and entertainment on board, check out another post.

The first underwater museum I ever saw was the Three Gorges Museum in Zigui County, Yichang City. It perfectly recreates the appearance of Guizhou County before the relocation, which is now forever submerged at the bottom of the Yangtze River. Its creative presentation is visually stunning. The old objects reminded me of visiting my grandmother's house as a child, with the winter hearth room full of cured meat, the kettle hanging on the iron hook, sometimes roasting potatoes and cooking sweet potatoes, the pigsty under the stilted building, the large terraced fields under the house, and the golden wheat fields. It was beautiful. I was shocked when I saw an 18.8-meter-long dragon boat, and it was the first time I had seen a dragon boat up close. Visiting museums is the best way to teach children about history. The entire museum is grand and magnificent. I took photos outside in the sun. Across from the museum is Muyu Island and the Three Gorges Dam. What impressed me most was the migration wall. Thousands of names of Three Gorges migrants are engraved on the wall. They gave up their homes and left their hometowns for the sake of national construction. Each stroke embodies their dedication and resilience. However, there is also unspeakable bitterness behind the migration. The museum displays many old objects that tell the story of the migrants' past lives. A worn-out wooden box and a rusty sickle carry their longing for their hometown. When I walked to the model of the Three Gorges Hydropower Station, I was amazed by its grandeur. It is not only a power generation facility but also a project that benefits the people. It prevents floods and droughts, facilitates shipping and irrigation, and improves the lives of people in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. After visiting the Three Gorges Museum, I gained a deeper understanding of the significance of the Three Gorges Dam. It is a testament to the unity and perseverance of the Chinese people and a symbol of the selfless dedication and national construction of the Three Gorges migrants. On the way back, I drove the ID6X through the green mountains and rivers. The car's excellent range and intelligent configuration allowed me to enjoy the journey and appreciate the magnificent scenery of the Three Gorges. It's hard to leave one's homeland, but they had to. Photos captured the scenes of the Three Gorges migrants leaving their homes, bringing tears to my eyes. Home is where the heart is. The relocated migrants should have integrated into the local life long ago, but their hometown is forever submerged at the bottom of the river, becoming a place they long for but can never return to.

The Yichang Three Gorges Immigration Museum is a museum dedicated to the Three Gorges immigrants. The museum is centered around the "Gate of the Three Gorges", with two exhibition areas on either side: the Old Home and the New Garden. The museum has two floors above ground and one floor below ground, showcasing the magnificent journey and spirit of the Three Gorges immigrants. The museum is not only a historical witness, but also a place to inherit the spirit of the Three Gorges. 📍Address: Northeast corner of Longzhou Road and Binhu Road, Maoping Town, Zigui County, Yichang City 🚗Transportation: Take the high-speed rail to Yichang East Station, walk left for about 5 minutes, and buy a ticket for bus No. 809 at Yichang Passenger Station. Go upstairs and take the bus to Maoping Station or Zigui County. 🕰Opening hours: Tuesday~Sunday 9:00-17:00 (16:30 stop admission), legal holidays open time 9:00-17:30 (17:00 stop admission) closed every Monday (except legal holidays). 🎟️Ticket information: Free (ID card required for entry) 🔥Tour route and key exhibition areas: ✅"Gate of the Three Gorges": The iconic building of the museum, symbolizing the greatness of the Three Gorges Project. ✅Old Home Exhibition Area: Showcases the original living environment and lifestyle of the Three Gorges immigrants, allowing visitors to understand the immigrants' background. ✅New Garden Exhibition Area: Tells the story of the immigrants' life changes and new home construction after relocation, showcasing the immigrants' new life. ✅Underwater Guizhou Exhibition Area: Through reliefs, lighting, audio-visual, and projection, it recreates the scenery submerged in the canyon, bringing a great shock to visitors. ✅Multimedia Interactive Area: Through modern technology, visitors can immerse themselves in the stories of the Three Gorges immigrants and gain a deeper understanding of this history. 🍜About food: After visiting the museum, you can taste the local farmhouse dishes, simple but full of flavor. Especially recommended to try the radish dumplings, a specialty of Zigui, with a crispy outer skin and a delicious filling. 💗Other tips: ①Keep the environment clean and respect historical relics. ②Bring a power bank to ensure your phone has enough battery for taking photos. ③Pay attention to sun protection and warmth, and prepare appropriate clothing according to the weather. ④Respect local customs and communicate friendly with local people.

## The summer of the Three Gorges Bamboo Sea, with a blue sky and a hot sun, with the fragrance of bamboo and the fragrance of flowers, with flowing streams and waterfalls, and sunburned. I dont know how many degrees I am

Planning a trip to China and want to try something different from the usual big cities? Check out Hubei province! 💙 Our trip included a cruise on the Yangtze River, visits to massive dams, and historical sites. If you enjoy diverse travel styles, save this list! ✨🏞️ Three Gorges Dam (三峡大坝): Another must-see on our Yichang trip. If you like large-scale landmarks and want to see China's famous dam project firsthand, add this to your plan. We recommend checking the route and visiting hours before you go. 🪨 Sanyou Cave (三游洞): A great stop for exploring and taking photos. This area features caves and scenery near the Yangtze River. For us, it's a quick stop, perfect for incorporating into your Yichang itinerary without needing a full day. 📸🏯 Qu Yuan's Hometown (屈原故里): A place connected to Qu Yuan, an important poet in Chinese history. However, our trip during the summer had many areas closed for renovations, and we had to climb up and down a lot of stairs, which was quite tiring. If you're planning to follow in our footsteps, I recommend checking the opening hours and wearing comfortable walking shoes beforehand. ☀️Save this as an idea for your next trip to China! 🇨🇳💙 #Hubei #Yichang #China #ChinaTrip #ChinaTravel #TravelChina #China #Trip #TripMoments #TripCom #Tripพาบินเที่ยวจีน

Personally, I traveled here during the summer. Initially, based on reviews, I thought there would be many traditional Chinese houses and beautiful photo spots inside. However, upon arrival, several areas were closed for renovations, preventing me from visiting everything. 🥹 Also, the walk to the top looked short, but it was actually quite tiring, especially in the summer. ☀️ If you want to follow in my footsteps, I recommend checking the latest reviews before you travel, because if you encounter areas closed for renovations like we did, you might not be able to see everything you planned.

But the taste is just as good as the old-school spots. Cilantro beef, bell pepper beef, cartilage, Angus beef ribs, duck gizzards, pig ears, Northeast-style beef skirt, chicken feet, squid tentacles, potato slices, eggplant... All highly recommended ‼️ You must order their charcoal-grilled pig ears!! It was my first time having grilled pig ears, and I was blown away! The bun skin is soaked in chili oil, and every bite is full of happiness~ · **Street snacks**: Head to the Taozhu Road Night Market or the CBD business district to try radish dumplings, roasted potatoes, and cold shrimp! It's so much fun to eat while you explore 🍢 · **Other flavors**: Dengcun fermented bean curd is known as "Oriental cheese" 🧀 and is a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage! There are also fried potato chips and fried pork, all local favorites~ During my days in Yichang, I stayed in a retro-style shop. In the corner, there was an old-fashioned telephone 📞 and a few green plants 🌿—every photo I took looked amazing! At night, looking at the twinkling lights outside the window, I couldn't help but sigh: Yichang's "spark" is not just about electricity, but the warmth and romance of this city 💛

It is a pretty good museum. Although the hardware facilities lag behind some of the newer venues built in recent years, the tour route is clear and the exhibition content is rich. The Ancient City Memory on the 4th floor is particularly noteworthy. It is a rare outdoor exhibition area that replicates representative buildings of Yichang. Every brick, tile, table, and chair is an old object collected during the urban renewal process, full of memories and stories. [Booking/Entry] No reservation required. You can enter directly by scanning a QR code via WeChat or Alipay on-site. There are fewer visitors on weekdays. Interestingly, people here do not seem to use WeChat much. According to the security guard at the entrance: "Scanning the code with WeChat requires filling out a bunch of information, which is too troublesome. That is for elderly people who do not know how to use Alipay. Don't you have Alipay?" [Exhibits] The 1st floor is the natural exhibition hall, mainly featuring animal specimens. The 2nd floor is the history hall, where key pieces like the Jian drum, Yong bell, and gilded bronze bear are located. The 3rd floor features the Three Gorges theme and modern Yichang, with many interactive projects that children should enjoy. The 4th floor is the Ancient City Memory exhibition area, a life-size replica of Republic of China-era shops, which is perfect for photos. Yichang has a profound cultural heritage. The most famous historical figure is Qu Yuan, who was named one of the world's 4 cultural celebrities by the World Peace Council. His greatness needs no introduction. A series of major historical events took place on this land during the Three Kingdoms period: Zhao Yun's battle at Changbanpo, Liu Bei's Battle of Yiling, Zhuge Liang's inscription at Huangling Temple, and Guan Yu's defeat at Maicheng... There are over 80 sites in Yichang related to Three Kingdoms culture, such as Changbanpo, Maicheng, Guandi Temple, Xiaoting, Lucheng, Jiusikou, Zhumaxi, Dianbinghe, Leigupo, Luozhenling, and Diemapo. The history of the Three Kingdoms has left a glorious historical mark on the land of Yichang, forming a Three Kingdoms culture with lasting influence and unique charm. The overall tour time is about 2 hours. It is a pretty good municipal-level museum.

Don't come to Yichang in November! You won't want to leave once you arrive. Yichang after the start of winter is like a fairyland! The Three Gorges red leaves, Qingjiang Gallery, and the old riverside city are all covered. You can enjoy this stunning autumn scenery for CNY 900–1,400 per person. It's totally worth it! 🌟 Why you must visit in mid-November After the start of winter, Yichang enters the Three Gorges red leaf season. Smoke trees, Chinese tallow trees, and maple trees paint the landscape from the riverside up to the ridges. The colors are at their peak from mid-November to early December! Daytime is 17°C, mornings and evenings are 9°C. There's often mist on the river in the morning, and the mist clears around 9:00 AM, revealing the light. The scene is so clean it could be a wallpaper. Compared to the crowds during National Day, there's basically no waiting this week, and cruise groups are halved! In November, the river water turns from muddy to clear, creating a stunning contrast with the red leaves! 📍 Pre-trip overview Suitable for: Red leaf enthusiasts / photographers / family trips Recommended duration: 3 days 2 nights | Physical intensity: Moderate, about 7 km of walking per day Cost per person: CNY 900–1,400 (excluding round-trip transportation) 🗺️ 3-day itinerary breakdown Day 1: Gorge river main route Morning: Three Gorges Tribe (admission including boat approx. CNY 210, opens at 8:00 AM) → Longjin Creek Afternoon: Sanyou Cave (CNY 78) → Nanjin Pass Grand Canyon Evening: Riverside Park (free) for a romantic night cruise Day 2: Red leaf main route Morning: Three Gorges Dam (free, sightseeing bus CNY 35, real-name reservation required) → Tanziling Afternoon: Sixi Ecological Scenic Area (CNY 60) → Qinglong Gorge (including boat) Evening: Dinner near Yiling Square Day 3: Qingjiang Gallery Morning: Qingjiang Gallery (admission including boat approx. CNY 120, first boat at 8:30 AM) → Daoying Gorge Afternoon: Wuluozhongli Mountain (including boat ticket) Evening: Reluctantly heading home 🍜 Hidden gem food (local favorites) ① Taozhu Road "Huji Red Oil Noodles": Red oil noodles with braised egg. CNY 12 per person. Locals line up early just for this! The chili oil is fragrant but not too spicy, it's amazing. ② Jiefang Road Pedestrian Street "Old Street Radish Dumplings": Deep-fried radish dumplings. CNY 8 per person. Usually sold out after 4:00 PM, so get there early if you want to try them! ③ Yiling District "Dengcun Cured Meat Restaurant": Stir-fried cured meat with mountain bamboo shoots. CNY 55 per person. A home-style restaurant where locals often gather for meals, the taste is authentically delicious. ⚠️ Pitfalls I encountered (don't make the same mistakes) ① The first time I went to Three Gorges Tribe at noon, the backlight at Longjin Creek was blinding! Entering before 9:00 AM is much better. ② I waited 40 minutes to buy tickets for the Three Gorges Dam sightseeing bus on-site. Booking the transfer time in advance is the way to go. ③ Navigated to the temporary parking lot outside Nanjin Pass, and it was a 1 km walk to the ticket gate! The main entrance parking lot has more spaces. ④ The afternoon boat return at Qingjiang Gallery was in the dark. I recommend taking the 8:30 AM first boat. ⑤ Drones at the viewing platform require registration! I was discouraged from aerial photography the first time. ⑥ The river wind in November is freezing! I froze in just a hoodie on the deck. A windbreaker with a thin fleece lining is the minimum requirement! 💰 Cost breakdown (per person) Admission tickets CNY 503 (Three Gorges Tribe 210 + Sanyou Cave 78 + sightseeing bus 35 + Sixi 60 + Qingjiang Gallery 120) Local transportation CNY 30–60/day | Accommodation CNY 180–400/night | Dining CNY 40–100/meal 3-day total CNY 900–1,400 💡 Practical tips Transportation: Taxi from Yichang East Station to the city center is about CNY 25; chartering a car to Qingjiang Gallery is about CNY 200/day Accommodation: Stay on Binjiang Road for convenient boat access, or in Yiling District to see the red leaves early Clothing: Daytime temperature is 17°C, mornings and evenings are 9°C. Bring a light jacket, fleece, and non-slip shoes Photography: The river mist with side-backlighting before 9:00 AM is stunning; after 3:00 PM, the viewing platform has front-lighting, perfect for shooting the entire mountain ridge Reservation: The Three Gorges Dam requires real-name reservation. It is recommended to book boat tickets for Qingjiang Gallery one day in advance 🙋 I'd love to hear your choice If you only had one day for the Three Gorges red leaves, would you spend your time on a cruise or at the viewing platform? Let me know in the comments. Couples strolling on mountain trails, slow walks by the river at night, sitting by the window watching the mountain scenery—every frame is a romantic memory
