Harrington Village Motel
4/58 Reviews
Everything is modern. Someone really took their time and planned the layout and decor. There is so much space. You have so much privacy with a large ensuite off a bedroom that could fit 4 queen beds and two more on its own private veranda. Great views from living room, bedroom, or kitchen. You can open up the full length glass doors and expand the rooms to fresh ocean breeze and listen to the native birds in the bushland just meters from the second private veranda. Easy access and parking. The carpark is another example of the owners taking pride in the quality of the guests experience over the quantity of rooms that most motels try to cram in. You can drive in or out either entrance with large car spaces to reverse or nose in at 45° right up to the door. The car park is in the centre of the block so you don't have to look at your car covered in bugs when enjoying the views. Ok I'm taking to long for an online review. I'll wrap it up quick. The rooms have everything like washing machines and TV, lounge. Ultra high ceilings. Modern split system aircons. And OMG space. I'm going to take a photo to prove it cos I know people won't beleive me, they have polished timber floors. These people want you to enjoy your stay. They are friendly and professional with the highest standard of cleaning I've seen in a motel and somehow their prices are so cheap. I am definitely staying again and would recommend this motel to honeymooners who want high quality, the family who want to create memories, travellers who want comfort and accessibility or the cheapskates like me who wanted to save money. You won't find better. Lastly, with hand on my heart, I know it's a big call ”this place is better than the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas” well done to the owners and managers.
Discovery Parks - Harrington

ok first up this is not a perfect park - it could use some TLC - especially given prices during peak dates. Having said that - the staff were amazing - and it was busy and they were still amazing There's treats at the local shop that's a nice walk from the park via a kids playground. Kids activities during the holidays. More than one pool and also a water play park, and a playground next to the jumping pillow so lots of different adventure locations, especially to have space between big and little kids. There is an indoor space for little kids (<6years), a separate kitchen, games room. The kitchen started to get very busy but there are BBQs scattered throughout the park with their own small shelters. The sites are large but very different - site choice is important - some sites have amazing shelter - bushes around them and uphill - some are completely open and downhill, a couple of sites are in the middle of the cabins, or back onto a swamp area, and some camping sites are far from the toilet block and border the road. But close to the lagoon – although a decent walk to the beach – which I don’t think is a swimming beach but we managed sandcastles. The park is huge - the map mentions 700m walk between parts of the park - there are two toilet blocks and laundries but that's still a long walk from the camp sites. Our site was open so we had a lot of wind and were downhill so water ran through the site - sadly a car using the space near us had their car mildly bogged and they needed assistance to pull out of the space (but given wettest year ever...fair enough). All in all it wasn't too expensive for the mix of facilities and the staff made the visit worthwhile.
Harrington River Lodge

The environment is very good, you can take a walk by the river in the morning, the room is also very large, there is a balcony. But the hygiene is not very clean, and there are dried stains on the quilt. The mattress of the big bed is spliced together by two single bed mattresses. The front desk staff was very good and very patient. The only downside is that there is no bottled drinking water.
