I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Motel during my getaway, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Service: The service was exceptional. From the moment I checked in, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and made me feel right at home. They were incredibly helpful throughout my stay, Facilities: The motel's facilities were top-notch and exceeded my expectations. The room was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the amenities I needed. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after a long day of exploration. The room also featured a mini-fridge, which came in handy for drinks. Additionally, the motel grounds were well-kept and provided a relaxing environment to unwind. Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast was simply fantastic.
Ogunquit Tides

Great place to stay! Very clean rooms with kitchenette in some. Beautiful view of ocean from pool deck. Kayak rentals, bikes. I especially loved being able to walk to the beach during low tide at the hotel. Great location close to town Main Street. On a trolley line. Staff was friendly. Free coffee, daily muffins breakfast items.. indoor/outdoor pools are a bonus it’s very clean. Very short drive to beach four dollars an hour to park. Can’t wait to go back.
Americas Best Value Inn-Scarborough-Portland

I chose this place as a less expensive alternative to hotels in Portland. Also because motels are safer during COVID than hotels (more ventilation because the room opens to the outdoors). First, I want to say my room was clean and comfortable. It's nothing fancy, but you get what you pay for. Also, I had a last-minute change to my reservation and the manager was very accommodating. So, thank you for that. My one non-COVID sort-of complaint is that, while you get a fridge and microwave (nice features), there's no coffee maker in the room. Would be nice to have that instead of the microwave, maybe. My biggest issue is that there were no COVID protocols in place. I went into the office to check in and the office was SEALED. I mean no windows open, door shut. The manager who checked me in was not wearing a mask. Two other guests were in there. I was the only one wearing a mask. And check in still involves filling out a card, even if you book on Booking.com, so it takes several minutes. I was quite eager to get out of there. When I got to my room, I realized he had given me a queen room rather than the king I booked, but I didn't want to go back into the office to request a room change. Then it occurred to me that if the manager wasn't wearing a mask, housekeeping probably didn't either. I kept the door open and opened the windows to air out my room before removing my mask, following what the experts say. Please open your office windows. It was 72 degrees and gorgeous outside. No reason to have everything sealed up.
Hampton Inn Ellsworth/Bar Har
4.4/5103 Reviews
We chose Ellsworth as a base camp to explore the Acadia area and as far west as the western shore of Penobscot Bay. After a good deal of driving and exploring for 5 days, we looked forward to returning to the Hampton each evening. Everything was up to the standards we expected and, even though it was busy, the breakfast area was large and well-staffed. The front desk was efficient and helpful. We especially appreciated the recommendation of Governer's Restaurant & Bakery across the street. Don't miss the nearby L.L. Bean Outlet.
Wells Moody Motel

If you like a clean place to stay that meets all basic needs—this is your place!! The owners are friendly and accommodating. Easy to find as the motel is on the main route. We like the rooms in the back but honestly, we stayed in the front this time with little to no interruption from road noise. Outdoor pool is crystal clear and refreshing after a long day of activity. Diagonally from hotel is the Chamber of Commerce Info Center—current info is helpful with maps, etc. The beach is 1/2mile away—walk or drive. Across the side road is Spinnakers—my favorite walk up eatery. Next door is a souvenir shop. This motel is a little jewel—close to beach, attractions, restaurants, doughnuts, grocery store. Clean, clean, clean with friendly staff—Mary, looking forward to our next stay!!
The Bluebird Motel Maine
4.2/524 Reviews
We've stayed at the Bluebird Motel on two occasions, for three nights each time. The rates are quite reasonable, and while probably an ”older” motel, everything about it, inside and outside, is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. It's well outside the town business center. There are three long units, and rooms in the back two where we've stayed are situated away from the highway and traffic noise. Our room was plenty big enough for two, with two comfortable beds, two upholstered chairs, a sizeable desk, large workspace, and storage drawers. Also, there's a microwave and good-sized minifridge. The bathroom is small but quite adequate in size and very clean. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Finally, a plus: right next door is a handy gas station with a restaurant and mini-mart. Yes, we'll certainly stay there again.
Queen City Inn
3.1/535 Reviews
It’s only fair to give it a four because of the price. It was quite reasonable in comparison with every place else in the area. Overall, I would consider it quite dated. It has seen better days, but it’s management is trying very earnestly and my check-in boarded on delightful. The included breakfast buffet was more than adequate. The room was well equipped, but far from luxurious. The bed head, lots of pillows, but wasn’t that comfortable, a little firm for me. They had plenty of hot water, even though they had those old style faucets that I do not like I made the best of it. At first glance, I thought there were leaves on the floor of the tub, but it was just where the coating had chipped away. Housekeeping did good a job as they possibly could with what they had to work with. Be careful the driveway had craters reminiscent of the surface of the moon. If you have a construction crew, you’ll have to put up for a few days a week. This would be the place to go.
Bangor Inn & Suites
4.2/563 Reviews
Cheap, traditional motel, facilities are old. Room heating is difficult to adjust, the front desk and breakfast restaurant are in a separate area, some food for breakfast cannot be picked up, but worthy of the price
White Birches Motel
3.5/538 Reviews
The location is far from Bar Harbor and is a typical motel. Health is good, service is good, the network is too bad, there is basically no way to access the Internet. It is difficult to get close to the peak season park. It takes 40 minutes to drive to Cadillac Mountain in the morning.
Anchorage Motel
4.2/543 Reviews
Glad we chose this location. We wanted something in town and affordable. Family of 5 with 3 young adults requires 2 rooms. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the hosts are friendly and helpful. We loved the location with easy walking to shops and restaurants. Jordan’s was a good location for a hearty and fast breakfast (2 blocks) and there’s a mini fridge in the room. The motel is also an easy 4 blocks to the Bar Island hike at low tide. We loved our trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia!
