A hidden gem of a guesthouse within Zhangjiajie Country Garden Resort, my stay here far exceeded expectations!!! The guesthouse is situated on high ground with expansive views, offering continuous vistas of Zhangjiajie's verdant mountains right outside the window. Waking up to birdsong and the fresh scent of grass and trees in the morning was incredibly healing, truly embracing the tranquility of nature. Each room is incredibly well-designed; from the soft furnishings and color schemes to the selection of tableware, photography, and art pieces, the owner's artistic flair and thoughtful attention to detail are evident everywhere. Breakfast is plentiful and can be arranged with the butler a day in advance. You can fully immerse yourself in the mountain scenery right from your room, creating an incredibly relaxing holiday atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The hotel fully lived up to our expectations! The view from the room was absolutely breathtaking. The smart room controls were very convenient and easy to use. The hotel grounds are lovely, with scenic walking paths and swings that create a very relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was not extremely varied, but everything was delicious — be sure to try the shaomai! In the evenings, you can order local Chinese dishes prepared by the chef. The food is excellent, although many dishes are designed for sharing and the portions are quite large. There are also snacks available at the reception desk. The weather in the park can change quickly, but the hotel sells both raincoats and shoe covers for rainy days (surprisingly useful!). The hotel also provides a shuttle to the park entrance, which is only a short distance away. I would also like to give special thanks to the hotel staff for the airport transfers and for their invaluable assistance throughout our stay. They helped us plan our sightseeing itinerary, purchase tickets, and were incredibly responsive to any questions we had — whether about the room or even our travel plans during the day. Their support made our trip much easier and more enjoyable. Thank you so much ❤️ When planning the trip, I recommend allowing at least two full days for the park itself, plus another one or two days for Tianmen Mountain and the Glass Bridge. Keep in mind that these attractions are about an hour’s drive from the main park and the hotel. I would also highly recommend visiting the 72 Wonder Tower in Zhangjiajie City in the evening. The atmosphere there is incredible, with live performances, actors in costume, and beautiful light installations that make the whole place feel magical.

Plus, the hotel offers a 7-seater shuttle service, so transportation is a breeze for families. Manxin was the third boutique hotel I chose for my trip to Hunan. It's located in a village nestled in the mountains. The owner leased nearly a hundred acres of land to create the idyllic farm he envisioned. Several two-story buildings are artfully scattered amidst rice paddies and lotus ponds. An infinity pool offers unparalleled views of the distant mountains. The rice seedlings have just been planted, and in a few months, one can truly experience the scene described by Xin Qiji: 'A bountiful harvest is spoken of amidst the fragrance of rice flowers, as the croaking of frogs fills the air.' **Environment:** The hotel's environment is exceptional. Surrounded by distant mountains, perched on a gentle slope, every room offers expansive views of lush greenery. The rice fields are close by, and at night, the sound of frogs fills the air. Each room boasts a large balcony. Sitting there, breathing in the fresh mountain air, sipping a cup of tea or coffee, time seems to slow down. **Hygiene:** The hotel's hygiene is top-notch. Despite being surrounded by farmland, there are surprisingly no mosquitoes or other insects in the rooms, which is quite rare. **Facilities:** As a meticulously crafted guesthouse, it offers all the amenities of a high-end hotel, especially the infinity pool with its unbeatable mountain views – truly an inspired touch. Of course, as a 'wild luxury' (my own definition) hotel, to encourage guests to truly reconnect with nature, the rooms intentionally lack televisions. This thoughtful decision is commendable! **Service:** Being far from the city, service is particularly important for guests. The hotel provides dedicated butlers who promptly address guests' questions and requests. Their efficiency is high, usually responding to guests almost immediately. The hotel offers complimentary airport/train station transfers, as well as unlimited complimentary transfers to the Zimu Pass (middle gate) of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which is incredibly helpful for guests. **In summary:** This is a uniquely positioned hotel. For travelers who love nature, appreciate peace and a slower pace, and have high standards for hotel quality, this hotel is definitely worth a short stay. **Final Suggestion:** Given its rural location, its own farmland, and the fact that it raises poultry and bees, the hotel should further leverage its unique advantages in terms of ingredients and cuisine. It could also appropriately guide local farmers to cultivate organic vegetables, fruits, and various eco-friendly produce, making a beneficial contribution to rural revitalization. I believe some guests would appreciate this.

We spent just one night at Foggy Valley, but that was enough time to fall in love with this place! The room was very spacious, and the view from the window was simply magnificent. You can tell that the owners and staff paid great attention to quality — everything is made for comfortable sleep and a proper rest. The atmosphere in the room invites you to relax and take your time. I would especially like to mention the staff. The team is simply superb! All the employees speak excellent English and are ready to offer any support, handling any questions with a smile and genuine care. A special thank you goes to the girl who organized an unforgettable walk for us and hosted a tea ceremony. It was incredibly warm and heartfelt — it's moments like these that make a holiday truly special! Another huge plus is that you can order massage services to your room. After a long flight, it was exactly what we needed — our bodies were so grateful! The breakfast is excellent and is served in a very picturesque spot, which charges you with energy for the whole day. The hotel also has a restaurant with a very large and varied menu — we had dinner there, and the food was top-notch, everything was delicious. The hotel grounds are a work of art in themselves. It's especially beautiful in the evening when the lights come on. You can feel the tremendous attention to detail that adds even more charm and beauty to this place. Even in just one night, Foggy Valley gave us so many impressions. We will definitely come back again to enjoy this place for longer! I really appreciated my stay at the Barringo Inn. The service was excellent, and the entire hotel was spotlessly clean. A special shout-out to the guy at the reception—he was incredibly nice and went out of his way to be helpful throughout my visit. What really stood out to me was how reliable the hotel is. Before I even arrived in China, I ordered some parcels from Taobao and had them shipped to the hotel. They arrived early, and the receptionist kindly kept them for me for four full days until I checked in. That level of trust and care is truly unique and not something you experience everywhere. The location is another huge plus. The hotel is very close to many of Zhangjiajie's famous attractions, and practically everything you need is right nearby—supermarkets, restaurants, barbers, coffee shops, and traditional Chinese eateries are all within easy reach. If you're craving something different, you can even walk a little bit and find western options like pizza. It's incredibly convenient for any type of traveler. Overall, a fantastic experience—I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting! Next time I come back to Zhangjiajie, I will definitely book this hotel again without hesitation.

Our Zhangjiajie trip was actually a last-minute change — we only decided to reroute here three days before arriving, during the second half of our journey. And honestly, choosing this guesthouse turned out to be the best decision I made. Right after booking, I reached out to the owner about the itinerary, routes, tickets — basically everything — and she saved us from so many potential headaches. When we got there, she sat down with us and went through the routes in detail, even pointing out some lesser-known spots that were totally worth it. That really helped us slow down and properly soak in this stunning natural wonder of a city. The location itself is super convenient — just a few minutes' walk from the east gate of the scenic area. There's parking out front, and the surrounding area is packed with shops, restaurants, and mini-marts, so you never have to go far for anything. The room? Clean, comfortable, and quiet — great for a solid night's sleep. Loved the smart home setup and the heated towel rack was a nice touch. There's also a few washing machines and dryers available, which was a lifesaver. They even put extra drinking water at the staircase for you to grab each morning before heading out, and you can borrow trekking poles and umbrellas too. But what really stood out was the owner and her brother — warm, thoughtful, and clearly running this place with a lot of heart. Thanks to them, we genuinely enjoyed our time in Zhangjiajie. I'll definitely be recommending this place to friends and family, and if we ever come back with family members, this will be our first choice. The hotel boasts a great location, convenient parking, and clean, tidy rooms with beautiful night views! The breakfast selection was plentiful, and the rice noodles were delicious 🤤 The receptionists were warm and attentive, always ready to answer any questions 👍👍👍 The hotel is right next to the subway station (Yingwan Town Station), making it very convenient for getting around and sightseeing. It's only one stop away from Orange Isle and also very close to Yuelu Mountain Park. This time, I stopped by on my way back, so the itinerary was a bit rushed. It's about a 20-minute walk from the Forest Park, the facilities are new, and the service is excellent, plus they allow pets for free. The location is excellent. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the East Gate of Forest Park (and roughly 8 minutes from the bus station, where you can catch a bus to the South Gate). The parking lot is right at the hotel, which is very convenient. Hygiene: The bedding was clean, but housekeeping after check-in can be hit or miss since the staff finishes at 12 PM. -0.2 Service: The front desk staff was very welcoming and professional. They even carefully reviewed my booking notes and requests, which was a nice touch and genuinely appreciated. Facilities: The hotel facilities are quite new (they have a Tmall Genie, but the toilet doesn't have a bidet function -0.1, though it is a smart toilet). There's a small issue with the accessibility facilities, as a section is missing -0.25 (however, the hotel staff will assist with luggage). Comfort: The hotel's design is simple and stylish. Dining: The room is spacious, and while they don't offer meals, there is a kitchen. Bonus Points: Not only did I get a room upgrade +0.5, but also a late check-out +0.5, a refrigerator +0.5, and a kitchen +0.5 (on a side note, I even saw a butler helping a foreign guest with Taobao shopping issues). Drawbacks: Despite the no-smoking signs, there was still a smell of smoke in the hallway. -0.5

The hotel primarily offers river view and city view rooms. The river view rooms are more spacious, come with a bathtub and a refrigerator, and offer views of the Xiang River at night. The city view rooms are a bit smaller but quieter, providing views of the IFS night light show and the surrounding buildings. Both room types have a good environment with separate wet and dry areas in the bathrooms. Any issues reported were promptly explained and followed up on, so the service was quite good. The hotel's location is also very convenient, close to the city center with plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options nearby.
