DDanny_L_SmithWe booked a room here on our honeymoon tour around Scotland and it turned out to be the best hotel we stayed at in the country. Not only did the staff work so professionally, they were also so personable. As a treat for our honeymoon, the staff gave us a gift of chocolates in our room when we arrived with a honeymoon card, as well as a dessert when dining in the restaurant. The restaurant was one of our highlights, if you are staying in the hotel do not miss it. The food was delicious, very well seasoned, and presented beautifully. Moreover, the staff in the restaurant were also so helpful, giving suggestions and recommendations and giving attention to us without being overbearing. The room looked out over the lawn with the towns cathedral in the distance. There was both a bath and a shower, the television was modern with a clean image, there were plenty of free coffees, teas and snacks in the room, and the bed was very comfy indeed. Don’t miss breakfast! The great food from the dinner in the restaurant remains during breakfast time too!
I will be returning. This is a very special hotel.
GGuest UserMe friend and I, along with his very large dog, stayed here as a stop-over while walking the John Muir Way and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. The room was clean and very comfortable with a powerful shower which was appreciated after a long day walking. In particular, all the staff were superb, so kind, friendly and helpful. We bombarded them with requests - Can we send luggage ahead? Can you collect the luggage from the taxi? Is it OK if we arrive quite late at night? Can we change from a double to a twin? Can you help us order a taxi for a large dog? etc - and everything was handled as if it was no problem whatsoever. We were also very happy to find the bar still open and buzzing with friendly locals when we arrived knackered at about 10.30 pm!
GGuest UserWe are regularly visitors to the Stirling hilland hotel. We always looking at thier deals beautiful place. Stirling castle just up the road. Central for everything.
GGuest UserLovely hotel and delicious food. We loved the location and the pool area and facilities. Only issue we had was the heat. It was particularly mild for November and the staff weren’t able to adjust the temperature. We were given a dusty and broken fan to combat the heat but sadly no one came forward with an apology when we brought it to staff that we had to leave the window open wide all night to try combat the heat. I know it wasn’t the individuals fault but good customer service would apologise to the customer and none of the 4 staff we spoke to about it offered an apology and they seemed disgruntled about it too.
GGuest UserA good room and well worth it’s money (compared to the prices you have to pay for an accommodation in Edinburgh)! We had our own kettle, tea and coffee in our room, also the breakfast and the restaurant was great! The only flaw was that it was so far away from the city center and there aren’t many buses stopping near the accommodation, I should have researched that better. Besides that we had an amazing stay and I can recommend this place!
GGuest UserInside the Stirling university which is a nice and quiet environment, but it requires travelling to the city centre. There is no restaurant which opens for dinner except that in the hotel.
The original room on ground floor given to us has a strong odour smell, which did not disappear after cleaning by housekeeping team. The reception initially refused to change the room. Only after we insisted then we were given another room on the first floor, but it wasted us almost 1.5 hour in waiting.
Otherwise, everything is very good including the excellent breakfast.
GGuest UserStaff very friendly and helpful.
Room very cold - air conditioning system that clearly doesn’t work. Did read other reviews prior to arrival and should have taken note as this seems to be a common complaint.
Staff clearly aware as delivered an electric heater without question when asked for one.
Breakfast okay. Will not cook poached or fried eggs only scrambled.
NNikhilAmazing service at reception. Had a slight issue with the room booked through Trip.com, so the hotel provided free breakfast as a bonus (breakfast buffet was fantastic!). Room was clean and comfortable, but very difficult to hold a WiFi connection in the room (had to stand in the bathroom to get any usable WiFi). Had a good stay and would recommend to other West Highland Way walkers looking to treat themselves to a hotel stay on the way.
HHuantiandinghudelangmanThe facilities are complete. I was assigned a ground floor room, and the view outside the window was just a wall, so no scenery. The closet door and room door are poorly designed; the closet door was really hard to open. The bathroom is very spacious with a bathtub, and the heating worked well. The duvet was quite thin, which wasn't ideal as it happened to be cold during my stay.
Regarding cleanliness: The bathroom was clean, but the bed had some lint/fuzz, and the duvet had some loose threads.
For service: The lady at the front desk who checked me in was very nice. She slowed down her speech when she realized I wasn't a native speaker and was very patient in answering my questions. Luggage storage was also very convenient.
The only drawback is that the walk to the hotel is difficult. The hotel is close to the train station as the crow flies, but the road is very steep, making it really tough to pull luggage. I wouldn't want to experience that again. (The view outside the hotel is nice though!)
GGuest UserThis hotel is in a great location for exploring Stirling by foot, can't beat it! It's a basic hotel but has all you really need, with no frills. Staff were fast and helpful, parking on site. Bathroom could have been cleaner, shower pressure isn't great. But rooms were quiet, bed comfortable.
